Buen Camino! I'm 😂 at Jason talking about the breakfast sandwich being like a Subway footlong. I immediately started singing the 5 dollar footlong song in my head, lol Question--Do you plan on taking any zero days?! Great job on powering through, Karissa! I know Jason is determined, but he's also your biggest cheerleader, and a great motivator. You both are gonna finish this amazing adventure TOGETHER! You've got this! Maintain that positive mental attitude! Love hers!
Regarding breakfast...must be the time of the year. I never had an issue with breakfast. Cafes would open at 7-730 am and have sandwiches and tortillas and croissant.
Enjoying the videos. Based on my Camino Francés experiences, I recommend taking the Villar de Mazarife route when leaving León (at the end of La Virgen del Camino) to avoid traffic and experience more countryside. If it’s open, Molina Galochas in Villavante is a heavenly casa rural run by the gracious Mercedes. You may be past this point in your journey by now. Like you, I preferred private rooms (and baños) on my last pilgrimage. I discovered many albergues offered private rooms which, in turn, gave me access to all the communal aspects (laundry, kitchens, pilgrim meals, camaraderie) of the Camino. ¡Buen Camino, Recks! 🖖🏽
In addition to my reaction to yesterday’s video, sometimes taking a step back to regain strength is also a way to deal and to move with challenges. That is perfectly fine. Find the best way in that together and don’t push each other too hard. The ultimate goal is to make it to the end together.
It's hard for me to think that walking without a pack is harder than walking with one. Do your shoulders get sore? The rain parka you're wearing looks functional and comfortable.

Thanks for the information. We leave Leon today and I’m gonna bet Lady Reck wants to take the shortest route 😂

Well said!
The yellow flower plant is rapeseed, used for making rapeseed oil (AKA canola oil)
Thanks. Definitely was planted and not weeds
How do you feel about your pre-walk training - do you feel it was enough? I'm sorry to hear about your feet 😞
We did a 12 week build up training program and yes it was plenty
So why did you choose to walk in March? Why not May or a warmer month?
It’s the only time I could get this many days off in a row from work

Shoulders haven’t been sore once. The pack shifts most the load to the hips
😂😂😂 on the Advil comment!
