Osborn has some of the most amazing arcs in comics. The transition from him running the Thunderbolts to the Avengers during Dark Reign is my all time favorite series.
Willem's depiction of Green Goblin was my all-time favorite, and I was a Marvel fan since the early 1980s. He was the best representative of the best that Gobby is, was, and could ever be. OP villain? Boring. Campy villain? Boring. Snarling violent, unhinged chaotic laughing madman that is somehow also ironically a genius? Insulting. Complex, relatable, brilliant, while also deeply disturbed and driven into the arms of evil? Perfect.
While normally I would give you crap for saying "villains" instead of "villain," but there actually have been multiple people that have taken up the identity of the Green Goblin.
Green Goblin is truly Spider man’s greatest villain him and Spider Man’s relationship is like Batman and Joker. 24:23 I like the 1610 aka ultimate universe version of the Green Goblin better than the mainstream 616 version of the Green Goblin.
You said Superman at 6:30 and you also used the wrong footage for the 60s Spiderman cartoon... The Garfield saga was not widely acclaimed as you say.. 2 was actually hated on pretty hard because of the cheesiness and the villains... As for the cartoons, the most famous one is Spectacular Spiderman (which you skipped)... ultimate was not that good... yikes... Good video otherwise mate!
In the show Spectacular Spider-Man, Norman Osborn almost shares similar traits with Roman Sionis, A.K.A. Black Mask. Both are sadistic crime lords and corrupt businessmen. Both wear masks like they're wearing who they really are underneath. Both use physical and psychological torture for intimidation and entertainment. And both are CEOs of big city companies, OsCorp and Sionis Industries. Also, Norman Osborn in Spectacular Spider-Man shares similar traits with Fire Lord Ozai from Avatar: The Last Airbender.
Christian Slater would Killed it as Norman Osborn in the Marvel Cinematic Universe with Dave Franco as Harry Osborn, Tom Holland as Peter Parker, Aaron Paul as Electro/ Maxwell Dillon, Rainn wilson as Doctor Octopus/ Otto Octavius, John Desantis as The Rhino/ Aleksei Sytsevich, Christopher Walken as Adrian Toomes/ The Vulture, Ben Ryan Metzger as Herman Schultz/ Shocker, and Michael Mando as Scorpion/ Mac Gargan
FYI, we already have Michael Keaton as Vulture, besides when it comes to casting, I'd suggest there being Ezekiel appearing in it with Arnold Schwarzenegger playing the part, Brock Lesnar as Tombstone, Big Show as the Kingpin, etc
@alfonsopina3976 no, Vincent D'Onofrio was not 7 ft tall or weighed as much as the Big Show, if anything, Vincent's more like a body double compared to the Big Show, who had experience in playing a crime boss when it came to *Vendetta* and a rather ruthless one at that
If Harry Osborn figures out that Peter Parker is Spider Man in The Amazing Spider Man 2, why isn't he in No Way Home? Stephen's spell brings over "everyone who *knows* Peter Parker is Spider Man from every universe into this one." This is a plot hole in every sense of the word. If Tom Hardy's Venom is in No Way Home from the knowledge of Topher Grace's Venom, Dane Dehaan should've been in the film. You had ONE JOB, Sony.
Dane DeHaan REALLY should’ve made a comeback in No Way Home as The Hobgoblin who is slightly cured (which was originally planned for the cancelled TASM3). I agree with your point, but I also wanted to how he would bond as a son with the Green Goblin (Willem Dafoe).
Also, No Way Home should’ve been another Spider-Man trilogy on its own, just so there would be more character appearances, interactions, screen-times, and unused concepts actually being used.
Willem Dafoe's Green Goblin was in a dark twisted way, a mentor to Spiderman by teaching him that the despite his heroics the public would hate him (if only in J.Jonah Jameson in the movies) and that he would face foes who would force him as a hero, to make impossible choices .
Well the fact that Ditko wanted the Goblin to be a complete stranger and Lee wanted him to be Norman Osborn was just part of it, Ditko was resentful of Marvel’s “Hollywood accounting” by publisher Martin Goodman as in not getting anything from the use of his art in the animated Spider-Man series and Spider-Man T-shirts, and Ditko at this point really disliking the Marvel Method of creating a story between the two men at this point, plus the fact that Ditko and Lee were at this point no longer on speaking terms even with Ditko handling his art over for Lee to dialog and going out of his way to avoid going into Lee’s office even. The Goblin’s identity was the final last straw for Ditko by this time though and was why he left Marvel.
I wasn’t impressed by DaFoe in the original movie. I wanted him recasted until he won me over in NWH. He was legit creepy in that version, a nice counter to little Peter.
In the comic books, there was also a Green Goblin cult of people who viewed Nioman Osborn as their leader. But why? What was their dogma? How did they think the Green Goblin was going to improve their lives?
If Black Cat does show up Disney will tone her down, Silver Sable could work in the MCU but at same time I think she'd be PERFECT for Sony's universe (same thing with Tombstone). But No Way Home DEFINITELY set up Ned to become Hobgoblin in the future/new trilogy, and I'd also want Mister Negative, Scorpion, and Mysterio for the new trilogy.
@@wisconsinking323I'm also expecting Harry Osborn to be in it as well, I'd even suggest Brock Lesnar as Tombstone, just as well, I'm also expecting Big Show as the Kingpin along with Ezekiel to have a part in it
But no matter what he does, Spider-Man is still able to beat the Green Goblin because he doesn't understand the true meaning of the phrase "With great power, comes great responsibility", only Spider-Man does.
I always hated the Green Goblin he they use him to much. Especially with back to back origin stories. I always wanted to see other characters. It like how the X men milked Wolverine. But he was never the main character for me. There were other characters to expand our imagination.
Osborn has some of the most amazing arcs in comics.

Easily Spider-Man's greatest villains
Amen.

@@hunterbennett757 damn that's such an annoying thing to do.
Alongside Venom and Doc Ock.
@hunterbennett757 yep, like Harry Osborn, who became the Green Goblin after his father was killed in a fight with Spider-Man
Spider-man was the first person to have a website.😄😁😄😁😄😁
One if not the greatest villains ever!!!!😈👍
Willem Dafoe killed it again as green goblin in no way home.
You got that right
Harry Osborn - From Friend to Villain to Hero!
Beyond Amazing video Marvelous videos keep it up 😀😎👍🤘❤🕷🕸
6:30 he said Superman 😂
I heard it too
I believe he's a hero now after everything he's done two spiderman's loved ones that's crazy
😮 Alter ego is an understatement 😅
Do you considered Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde as an understatement too?
They nailed just how dangerous Gobby is in "No Way Home". I liked it.

Hes the real Goblin, the Green Goblin.
Thanks for the entertainment 👍👍👍
In spite of everything you’ve done for them eventually they will hate you
We've got J Jonah Jameson to thank for that
Can you do a Marvel Origins video of the Hobgoblin for me, please?

Green Goblin (Norman Osborn) is my number 1 favorite Spider-Man Villain.

Hey, do an origin video on Ultimate Green Goblin from the Ultimate Spider-Man comics.
Ditko left after the idea of Green Goblin looming larger??
The footage said to be from the 1967 Spider-Man TV series wasn't.
The goblin & Spidey, are the Joker & Batman of Marvel comics.
The Hobgoblin was also a great villain that gets overlooked.
Especially since he's also one that had many bear the moniker
