Finished Langrisser I with 26 hours of play. Highly recommended for fans of classic Fire Emblem or Shining Force. The music is outstanding. The Class Tree system is more complete than that of FE Sacred Stones. And now I have the New Game + and the complete Langrisser II to play.
I (obviously) haven't played the game yet, but given it's primarily a remaster, the low difficulty probably comes from keeping more or less the same map design while giving the player a ton of new tools that weren't in the original and changing a lot of the mechanics (i.e. every unit had 10 HP and seemingly small stat differences had a huge impact, classes did have branching paths, but you didn't get the theoretical ability to unlock every class, it was just one class of each tier based on the paths you see in this version's class tree etc).
I remember warsong very well. Literally sega and nes was all I had and it was a gem when I was a kid playing it. It was very unforgiving as the battles can take up to almost 2 hours. Every move was way slower and enemies moving was slow too and you had to watch every single mercenary move. No quicksave , and if you lose a hero they are gone for good. So starting over happened a lot and that’s a lot of time.
3:45 Holy shit, Ar tonelico!? I love Satoshi Urushihara's work as much as the next guy, but Ryou Nagi's art is nothing to sneeze at either. I thought it looked familiar... But yeah I agree, being able to change between the two is a much better choice (more so than sticking to one style like Re:Incarnation Tensei). Now if only they could have asked Urushihara to design the big splash art pages too.
I love Nagi's art from ar tonelico. However I don't like his art here. It seems lower quality compared to at tonelico in both proportions and the colors
I picked up a physical copy of this for our PSPRO's yesterday (I can't believe I found one!). Now, we have Doom Eternal, Resident Evil 3, Final Fantasy VII Remake, Core Grafx Mini, and Trails of Mana. I cannot put this game down! Seriously, this game is absolutely fantastic. Don't forget to download the demo and make a quick save game before you start this...it gives you a bunch of stuff to start with.
Hopefully they will bring over 3 and 4 if this does well. I played the crap out of Warsong on Genesis as a teen. I likely will pick this up in not too distant future once I get some extra cash.

Langrisser is one of my favourite series and I'm fine with playing the originals, but just getting it for an additional experience seems good for me now. I like the new sprites very much. The new art turned me off at first, but I warmed up to it over the years
You could actually join the empire in the PC version of Langrisser. There is a translated version out there and it's worth checking out if you are into the series, but not the new art style.

After that, they made Der Langrisser, a remake, which would be ported from the Super Famicom to the rest of the consoles it got on. But that's regarding the second game. About the first one, was the PC version released before or after the PC-CD port (the CD add-on for the PC Engine)? I haven't played the PC-CD port, but I remember it having just one ending.
There are a lot of good choices that I don't think you could go wrong. Gundam Wing and Robotech (Macross) after definitely classics although with Macross you can kind of see it's age but I didn't mind it. Personally I like a lot of Gundam, even the ones that aren't highly rated. Code Geass is a more modern one but still pretty old and is one of my favorites. If you want more you can also look at Eureka Seven or Evangelian.
At first i wasnt huge into the Langrisser remake because it uses Langrisser 5 mechanics as opposed to how the Warsong and Der Langrisser felt buuuuuut after a few battles of getting to know the system it wasnt so bad and even at times it feels pretty fucking good. My biggest gripe with the game is how stats are scaled...i know the original isnt much harder but its number system is a lot easier to understand with 10/10 systems and what not... ...if a Spear unit has 16/16 +0/0 and is fighting another spear unit at 16/16 +0/0 you can expect no one will take damage (which is handy since all units have hp10) but as that number gets higher like 16/16 +4/0 then the opposing spearman will take 4 units of damage under the same circumstances rendering that spearman at the same strength as a 12/12 In the remake it makes you take your atk/def and round how much damage to the nearest tenth and thats how many units are taken off screen. I.e. spearman with 20/20 and 100 hp vs another 20/20 with 100hp... Then you have more math to do... Okay so 10 units have 10hp each If they deal 35 damage to rng then ill be left with 7 units left leaving me with an effective strength of 14/14 Thats the low end of things Its a greay game dont get me wrong but since Langrisser M is using Langrisser 5 ruleset so has this remake
I guess what im trying to say is those individual units actually use to mean something...it was more like advance wars and less like Fire Emblem back in the day. Also not being able to rest sucks lol

I guess they don't use the 10 HP limit since Langrisser Mobile, I really liked that :c I also don't like the new art style, it makes the game look like another Fire Emblem fangame, which is really not the case at all, and the original art style looks...weird. It just doesn't fit the rest of the graphics, I'd love it if Urushihara remade them. I mean, he made skins for Langrisser Mobile, and those look as amazing as Urushihara's style has always been, so it's not really unplausible. As for the difficulty, I can't really tell because I haven't played it yet, but if you really want to get you butt kicked, just play the original games, you'll really gonna get that. As for classes...what the hell. I can't even imagine how you implement Runestones in that system. It's still better than how it was handled on Langrisser 1 at least. I'm kind of dissapointed, but I still have some interest in it. At least they didn't touch the story on the second game, and they just turned Langrisser 1 into "Der Langrisser Zero", so maybe it's not bad.
Agree, just get my copy and completely disappointed. They made too much unnecessary change in the games, removed many of stuffs that made the game good (user interface, battle screen, bad AI, hit point & magic system, etc). If you are like me, a long time fans of the original series. You will be disappointed.

Been playing this while waiting for Brigandine to release on Thursday. Pleasantly surprised at how good it is.

They are not. There hasn't been any mention of them by NIS either so probably not going to get them.
