I thought I had mentioned that. Replaying the maps detracted from the difficulty since the luxury wasn't available in the originals. Also another thing to note is that some of the maps have changed since the originals too. Especially compared with Langrisser II for the Mega Drive.
If you love the original game, you will be disappointed. They made too many unnecessary change & actually took away many elements that made the original game great, like the battle screen, hit point & magic system, Commander healing ability, poor AI, etc..
Wait...I should play the second game first?! Why would they make this new version that way? Do they at least warn you at first? I don't know as I just bought my physical copy today. I'm actually pretty stoked about getting it physical as it's as rare as a PS4/PSPRO game gets.
The second game eases you into the mechanics a bit more than the first which sort of just puts you out there to fend for yourself. The original Der Langrisser was like this as well.
@@InfiniteBacklogGameReviews Thank you for the informative answer! I looked around gor quite a while and could not find anyone talking about it. However, I did follow your advice in the video and man am I enjoying this game!
@@Sinn0100 Knowledge about the first game isn't required to enjoy the second, though some of the place names used will ring a bell if you played Langrisser I first. If anything, Langrisser III is set even before Langrisser I, while IV takes place a couple hundred years after II.
@@InfiniteBacklogGameReviews Again, thank you for sharing this information. I can't believe I missed this game when it was out for the Sega Genesis. Back then (still do) I played literally everything. Hell, it would be easier to list the genre's I don't care for (Tennis, Golf, and Tetris styled games). I would have played this game until it melted from overuse. I remember getting seriously intonthe Shining series and this is like that x10. It really reminds me of Dragon Force in a way and I still play that today.
Warsong was amazing. Much love for this franchise
Satoshi Urushihara's art is just so damn good the new art style can not even come anywhere near Satoshi's art !
This is pretty neat, they could have had difficulty settings.
the battle animations don't even charge each other as opposed to the older versions, especially the flying types 0:55 compared to 4:55.
I thought the remakes were very easy compared to the originals

Satoshi Urushihara designs, eh? I was wondering why the female characters looked so good.
