  • Are you a skater who gets on the ice and then doesn't know what they should be practicing? Then here is something that is going to help! ►► A training planner for figure skaters to help them set goals and organise their training session. Download our FREE PDF Guide - "The Training Session Planner For Figure Skaters" → www.nextedgetu...
If you're relatively new to figure skating, thinking of one day doing single jumps can seem near impossible. The technical ability, the single rotation, landing on one foot, it is enough to make any beginner skater think twice about jumping. However, what if we told you that you can start jumping by trying some super simple beginner jumps to become more comfortable.
This lesson is ideal for skaters who have mastered some basic skating skills and are ready for the next challenge. Learnt safely at the barrier (boards) before moving out into the middle of the ice. Learning these jumps are a great stepping stone before learning the traditional jumps. Now get your skates on and get ready to start jumping!
    In this lesson you'll learn:
    - 5 different beginner jumps
    - How to begin learning these jumps safely at the barrier
    - Examples of how you can insert them into your next routine
    Happy Skating!

Very cool jumps with example choreography. I love how the progressions start at the wall to help start. Can you do something similar for wallies and eulers please?

You make it look so pretty. As an adult, I feel I'm not as graceful yet. But this was great practice. I am not very good doing my jumps, manly the loop. I will press more and try the split and falling leaf next time I practice. Hopefully, I can make it comfortable to help my flip and Lutz. Also, I got the planner, and I will have them for my girls(they are young, it is great to get a routine). Thank you.

Thanks so much! Many coaches skip teaching these. I appreciate you breaking them down into each specific step.

Is a mazurka essentially a toe loop but with half rotation?

Me watching this while being able to skate at full speed, able to skate backward and being able to do simple small jumps but still being unable to stop 🧍 I mean if I fall I’ll stop eventually
