      @@SirBikesAlot I rode from Colwood to Vancouver to meet with my brother, then headed down the normalish coast route down Washington, Oregon and California Camping at state parks... We got to Crescent city in California in 11 days. Unfortunately My knee seemed to jam at that point and had to turn back after attempting the climb out of Crescent city the next day.( I now run just flat pedals... even with a bike fit my knee would get sore.) I flew back. Crescent city airport is the size of a small classroom! haha... person checking people in was also flagging down the planes!
      I found on the bike trip that It was the most relaxing thing just only having to think of where we were going to eat the next day, What climb was ahead and what the road had in store for us that day ( and when will the fog end when we were going through Oregon). Was always the best loading the bike up at the nearest town to the next campsite with some beverages and groceries to cook and drink for the night

      @@SirBikesAlot , The section from Nelson to Salmo was fun. The C&W section and tunnels l, down to Paulson, were a major highlight. Grand Forks to Myra, then Myra where we overnighted in the canyon, that was pretty cool. Penticton to Princeton, sandy and it started to pour, but still good. Heck, I loved the whole thing, even The Pass, but those were the top memories.

    I had a dog-stalking situation in Quebec. We were riding a tandem with a Bob trailer from Montreal to Halifax. We went on back roads looking for a covered bridge and picked up a Newfie puppy (as big as a regular dog!) on the way back to the highway. He followed us for miles, constantly running around us which was pretty nerve-wracking. When we got to the highway we realized we couldn't continue with him. We waited until a truck came along entering the side road we had just exited and persuaded the owner to tale him back. Thankfully I spoke enough French to explain the situation to the driver.

      @SirBikesAlot  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for sharing Barry, you always have such cool stories! I spent the good part of a few days wondering how the dog was (we called him Buddy). It was such an odd situation because we had no reception at the time and we’re not capable of caring for him.

    • @SirBikesAlot
      @SirBikesAlot  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Originally we thought it was a farm dog that was just playing around. After about 5km we were trying to lose him so he would go back and couldn't really share the dog. It was now obvious that the dog was in distress so we fed it and flagged down the first car that we saw. I basically made these girls take the dog and lifted it into the back of their SUV.
      We did just over 500km in the first 6 days as part of this video. The 6th day was pretty casual (40km) and mostly on a paved bike path.
