I chose my artist based on work. It's just him who tattoos at that shop, it's family owned and it makes you feel right at home. As for another thing he takes his time to make your tat a one of a kind piece of art. 3 month waiting line also

Is that so? My tattoo shop has some incredibly talented people working there and they run deals all the time, especially if they have cancelled bookings. Sometimes they'll run charity drives where you come in and get a tattoo based on what you donate to the cause!
Don't say "don't go to a shop that doesn't offer specials." That's a bias and goes against basic marketing. Word of mouth doesn't have to be everything to a tattoo shop, and I feel that the first part of this video was very informative and genuine. I simply believe that if you're going to be giving facts about How to find a good tattoo shop, you shouldn't fault businesses that take advantage of advertising. It's a stigma. Not a fact.

"You get what you pay for" is also a great way to throw money into scratchers/scammers throats. Just recently saw a badly done $1000 tattoo that was maybe worth $150 at the very most (4 word script as a chestpiece with really bad outlines and extremely simple in style).
On the other hand ... do $30 tattoo specials really exist?
lol for my first tattoo i went to an artist that my most tattooed friend recommended to me and she had the best reviews out of the 5 or 6 shops i looked at and i got a shit tattoo meaning there are actual mistakes in it and she disregarded what i wanted. it's my own fault for going through with it because i trusted her even after i made her aware of one of the mistakes and she said it had to be that way. she ended up putting the highlights on different sides which is not how light works. i hate it.
Im almost done with a sleeve it starts with a raven which is a symbol of the death of something and as it goes to a phoenix which is symbol of rising from the ashes. the background is a space theme which represents a void. Pick an artist you trust and you will always love your ink.

Hey I join infantry next year and have some tattoos layed out that I want but can't get them for sure till I graduate basic training I just was wondering if u knew anyone who could help me lay out a template of where tattoos will look best on me and designs and colors i should use?

Don't pick a tattoo shop.. pick an artist.
Check out the artist, look at their previous work. Also remember that large tattoos can take longer than you think. Some people think a full back piece should take like 2 full day sessions, when in reality, you're probably looking at 3-4 minimum. Where I'm from, artists are charging $550-$750 per session, so if you're getting a large tattoo which takes 3-4 sessions, you're gonna pay like 2-3 thousand. Amazing tattoos with exquisite detail, are not cheap. Always remember that just because a cheap studio has photo's of tattoos they've done that are fresh, you'll find they dont have the healed photo's of their work. That's your difference. Getting a large piece will take commitment and patience too, you're probably going to spend 6 months or more getting it fully completed. Dont rush it.

I would rather pay a thousand for an amazing tattoo than paying hundred for a tattoo that i am going to have for life or have the trouble of paying thousands in tattoo surgery
I am in the process of opening up a shop, I would appreciate any advice that could be given about how to make your shop comfortable and customer friendly. When I got my first tattoo the artist kept joking around which was funny but made me a bit nervous mainly because I went on a day where I needed to do stuff later that night and when I asked how long will it take he told me four more hours. He had already started and the tattoo I wanted was all black, not that big, and had little detail. I freaked out but realised that it looked like he was almost done. He never said jk or anything XD I was a noob

BULL CRAP !!! I work at a shop where we offer a 25 dollar name special. And the work is amazing !!!
