    Well we all want to get a nice tattoo shop,but like you said, there’s a lot of things on the back of “running your own place” and we know that could be a pain in the ass if you are not working hard to keep it up. And then u got to be ready as an artist and as a sales person too... but my advice as an professional is : if you are open to the business, work your ass off and learn as much you can about different styles and besides that u got learn about businesses ideas as well.
    Great video!!!
    Wish you all the best!!!!

    My advice would be get the bare necessities to start the shop. As business grows, start adding to the shop. Also, gain a valuable skill set so you can work a traditional office job that pays well while you are building your tat business.

    Thanks for sharing the video! We have recently opened a tattoo shop in Toronto, and we agree with all your words! We had a lot of fun watching :) All is true - it's super hard to manage a shop and you need to have a good team. Another great advice is to create video reviews of your customers! It helps a lot, especially during the first steps!
    Will be happy to connect with you guys and exchange experiences.

    And also in my country there is a lot of people who want to get tattoo but there are so many private people like maybe where I live like 1 very good tattoo parlour so I want to get all the best that I know who have been tattooing me to work in my shop just to advertise them more because not many people know about them so maybe opening a shop will make them more famous but not just that will also bring more customers in because I can advertise and it will be easy to find us on Google etc I have around $40k saved up so I think it will be enough to get the shop and to decorate nicely inside

      As someone literally in the process of looking for location to open a studio this after opening a 2nd location for someone 5 years ago which it’s now the top shop in the area you’ll need someone with the knowledge that you trust. I’ve ran other businesses and I say this both in a good and bad way but a Tattoo Studio is unlike any other business when it comes to the day to day. In 5 years with 13 artist and 2 piercers 2 were let go and 4 went on to grow themselves with our blessings. Gotta have a good system in place and leadership

    This was such a very Kool relaxed vid, just wanted to come have a drink with you boys ! but am just in the faze at the moment weather I should or should not open a shop, I've only been around the industry approx 2.5 yrs, and that's only getting to know people in the game getting tattooed by guys whose work I like etc, drawing my and practicing my ass off, weather its on myself on paper fake skins etc etc, but my question to you guys is.....
    what is your honest opionon on opening my own shop,... getting experienced artist in, and creating my own apprenticeship ? Does this sound frigging crazy ? If its affordable would you advise this? Reason being, iam not 20yrs old any more, iam 40, so I do understand and respect it, if a shop is looking at hiring an apprentice, there not wanting someone that is older than them, ( and lets be honest that is highly likely ) most shop owners iam finding are in mid 30s , so iam sorta thinking out side the box on this one. Any thoughts guys ? You can slam me if you want on thinking this way, just thought I would through it out there. And by the way, great channel, enjoy them a lot , and good luck with your new shop !

    Time bandits…. Time bandits everywhere… asking tons of questions but never actually getting anything done.
    The group of fit girls that come in 8 at the time for Kelly’s ‘infinity’ symbol on the ribs. Which needs to be checked by all 7 friends and needs to be replaced 19 times..
    The random guy that seems to walk in confused, ask how much a sleeve is and then leaves never to be seen again lol
    The jealous boyfriend that sits akwardly in the corner whilst you are tattooing his wife’s foot
    The scissors that always seem to go missing even tho you bought an 8 pack yesterday lol
    Same goes for markers and stencil stuff
    Taking 376 photos of the sick tattoo you just finished just to flip through all of them not being happy with a single one
    Your colleague that seems to never be prepared and comes in daily asking to borrow a 9mag (love you guys😂)
    And last but not least. The infinite amount of phone calls asking about the price of a ‘medium sized’ tattoo 😂
    Still I wouldnt trade this job for anything else

    How much money do you typically need to open a tattoo shop? How were you able to find tattoo artist? What is the process like?

    • @TattooShopTalk
      @TattooShopTalk  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's too complex question to answer and it's also different from region to region

    how much money did you guys have saved before opening up a shop? and how much was the expenses???????

    • @TattooShopTalk

      I would say for us it was around 10000€ and I had a lot of supplies like furniture,beds stations etc. And then more then half a year with barely breaking even before it picked up.

    . I love working at a shop but it seems like a lot of stress to open and own a shop if u want to be successful. I dont want to open a shop I'd rather just live the tattoo nomad life. owning a shop , I'd feel tied down to that shop

    • @TattooShopTalk
      @TattooShopTalk  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you want to travel then owning a shop could be a challenge. Nomad life has its appeal. On that stressful note - working for someone sometimes can also be stressful then stressing for your own thing makes more sense.
