It is not important what Arda or Endrick or Brahim do. Even they score 30 goals every game Ancelotti will not see them as a main player. You can see last year Brahim did excellent things but never over Rodrygo. Ancelotti is unfair.
I think Jude is also not happy with his position. Arda's and Jude's performance reduced because of Ancelotti.

I completely agree. These selections and formations seem to be aimed at keeping the players happy. At a certain point Carlo needs to make tough choices and unfortunately some players need to be benched for the good of the team.
This game right from the beginning just looked like one of those games when things will not just work however you try. We couldn't win 50-50 chances, our players were late to challenges, the few chances we had just wouldn't go in... I am very impressed witj your analysis of the game, because I couldn't even figure out what was wrong with our team.
Hopefully, this loss marks a turnaround in our season.

Based on our problems, we should stick with a 442 diamond with
2: Vini / Rodrygo and Mbappe / Endrick. They should be trying to come inwards and score.
4: Jude at the tip, Cama (left) & Guler (right) at no. 8 and Fede at the base. Fede has proven that he can defend much better than Tchouameni and can progress the ball as well if needed. Cama can support in defending and ball progression. Arda and Jude to focus on attack. Jude at the tip to have an aerial threat, press at the center and of course great passing and finishing. Arda can progress the ball from the right.
4: For the fullbacks, our strategy should be to move forward (mostly from left) to stretch the wings and support the strikers. Hence, Fran as fullback on the left and Cama to cover when he progresses.
Overall: We should have a high press strategy for the forwards and mid positions as we have a decent bench strength there and can replace tired players in say 70 mins.
From the 10 Madrid matches I have watched this season, I think the 4-3-3 is better for the team, and was more fun and enjoyable to watch. The last two games has been 4-4-2 without Mbappe and Madrid couldn't still win the games 🤷🏼♀️ I think the 4-2-2 only worked last year because of Toni Kroos and the evidence shows in the last two games that Kroos was the reason for the 4-4-2 success. At this point, the problem is not the players, is the coach. He better go back to the 4-3-3 formation before it's too late.

These players need to wake up. Apart from maybe Rüdiger, none of them look like they're at 50% of the level they were at last season, let alone more. They honestly looked like they got pulled from some beach bar in Aruba and bothered to play this game. Carvajal and Mendy are major liabilities in attack, they look like they've never passed the middle of the park before this game.
Last season whenever we got the ball, we would pass it to Toni Kroos and he would come up with a game plan.
Now these players need to put on their big boy pants, show that they don't need Kroos to babysit them, and live up to their world class reputation.
The only thing missing is URGENCY. This squad seems to sleep until it gets serious for them. Instead of simply passing the ball all the time they need to risk loosing the ball constantly going forward for the goal. When we won 4-1 the other day we didn't win because Vini came in. We won because suddenly there was URGENCY, TAKING RISKS, and ATTACKING FOOTBALL!

The main problem is coaching
i think we really need to instruct jude to not go so high up the pitch when we have the ball. our CB should not be the guys with the most passes in the game. we have 4 midfielders on but no one wants to take the ball from the CBs and bring it up. Jude is making runs like an attacker all game, waiting for a lofted through ball... he is supposed to be the one to play that ball to mbappe for example. Jude was able to play so offensively last season because we had Kroos who would do all that directing in the midfield and play those passes. now we keep forcing runs down the middle and expect out CBs to play perfect long balls? cmon man...
I really do not see any instruction from the coaching side. it just feels like carlo is letting people do what they want. Yes our squad is not well put together (3 left wingers up top, No ballplaying CB) but there are certainly better ways to utilize the skills of our players.
Tell Jude and Fede to get the ball, not play away from it, Tell Mendy to just stay back and not clutter the left wing so Vini and Mbappe can actually run at people. And for the love of god please bring Arda earlier. Our game is so much better when we have presence on the right wing.

I agree with On Mbappe. In addition to that, he doesn't even help his teammates for winning back the ball. Like last night, he lost the ball and he didn't even bother to look back. Vini is we all know how awesome he's when he has the ball, but the truth is he is quite invisible most of the time this year. It seems disjoints in midfield impacting vini especially than any other forwards.
And carlo have no idea what to do with the midfield. Camavinga has just returned from injury, so it would be foolish to judge him now.

I believe Real Madrid needs to stick to the 4-4-2 with either Vini or Mbappe leaving. And I believe Xabi Alonso will do exactly that once he arrives. However, if Real Madrid wants to succeed in 4-3-3 with three strikers upfront then I think the best option is Klopp. As crazy as this sounds... I believe Klopp knows how to build a team that is capable of pressing and creating goals in a 4-3-3 system.

Thanks for the video! It's getting late to keep doing experiments. I just hope we were just tired after the Atletico match, plus Mbappe and Cama just recovered from injuries. I think Mbappe was not quite ready but because of Rodrygo not being available he had to play.

I don’t think many appreciate or understand how much the board’s hubris in neglecting the defense, the fullbacks in particular, is severely hindering this team. These issues were evident last year as well but we had the fact that Toni Kroos was still around and Jude having one of the best debut seasons of all time compensating for that. The midfielders don’t have time to do their duties when they have to double as defenders as well. Mendy in particular is a huge liability and renders the LHS useless. Fran must start with Cama starting important games unless we need Mendy to lock down a winger. I think Alaba’s return would be crucial as well; he might need to do some midfield shifts as well.

Carlo has to start using the right side. Every attack is focused on the left side making it to easy for the opponents and they barely have to run. It is another thing to have the ability of kroos to switch play from side to side, but without him we need a winger that constantly stretches the pitch because no one can do the passes that Toni did.

Our way of attack was sending long balls from the defence to a double marked vini or endrick which never reached them losing possession and starting from scratch
I love Carlo…but we need fresh ideas…I don’t see anything Tactical about this team…we’re just hoping for individual performances…there’s no structure, no clear style of play and everyone just looks lost…we lost Kroos and we didn’t replace him…we have mbappe and Jude making runs and no one who is willing to make a pass…and if they do make one its a poor one..we need a RB, a ball playing CB…That Lille right back was amazing (Thiago Santos) we gotta get him to replace carvajal, we need Enzo Fernandez to play that Kroos role…and we need Arda to play regularly….another thing..for the life of me i dont understand how Rodrygo didn’t get minutes when we needed a goal…an all round shit show by Carlo and some of the players

This time I have to agree with you 100%.Very meticulous analysis.Honestly, in this channel I've supported Ancelotti but during the match I was simply bewildered and pissed. But my heart didn't sink till the after-match press conference. Carlos' demeanor, tone and answers were those of a clueless man. Unfortunately, during my professional life I've witnessed enough impotence to recognize it when I see it. Thing is, he's a great enough pro to be aware of the fact that his mistakes this season so far added to the attitude of his players, may entail his termination at season's end unless he wins everything, and that's a huge hurdle. impressed me. Vini and Mbappe were poor in attack and didn't work in defence at all. The attack play got better when
Arda came in, but The playing time has not enough to score a goal. I stick with my opinion that the team is worse with Mbappe

I'm sorry, but you're completely wrong about Mbappe creating the imbalance. We played horribly without him during the Atleti game and we played even worse without him in this game game.
Ancelotti has done nothing for this squad, it feels like he has not given anyone instructions or tactics and it shows with how lost everyone is.
We've played like this last year too, but the results and trophies made up for the poor displays of performances.
Mbappe was never the issue, the issue has been and always will be Ancelotti. I've said it before, with nothing for the players to fall back on, when the creativity and instinct is lacking the players will look dead.
I don't mean that Kylian is the problem per se. This would. have happened with Harry Kane or Haaland or any other number 9 coming in. I am only suggesting that we are forcing the 4-3-3 issue and it has somewhat destabilized the consistent 4-4-2 of last year. But it is not Mbappe specifically, it is the arrival of a number 9. I love Mylian. I think he is an incredible player and we are lucky to have him.

Mbappe has caused a shift In how the team and formation is set up so even when he is not playing the style reaming the same , last year we was very lucky and to be fair Carlo had been lucky with the trophies he has won at madrid because he was bailed out by his players , Carlo needs to fuck off as does Mbappe or vini and rebuild a team that's a team and not a team of players the manager won't drop because of past success in getting him out of trouble.

As you mentioned, the flat 442 with Jude and Fede on the wings severely limits their impact and also that of Vini as he ends up having to play more centrally too.
Carlo has a large part of the blame to take for not instilling an identity or playstyle with this team yet.
The team looked lost. A firmer hand is needed. Players in certain positions should playhere depending on the situation. Maybe going back to a 4-4-2 diamond can help against certain opposition. The 4-3-3 can be used against possession based teams.
Couple of bright points: 1. diagonal long passing seem to get better. 2. Often relatively easily we actually got the ball to the final third to the wing areas. And that’s where positives stop. Because there was no idea or continuation how to progress from the wings towards the goal. It was often just one player in the center covered by 2 defenders and nowhere to pass except backwards or force an unlikely cross in. Some matches we had success with really wide wings but it didn’t work this time. Also in a few matches within those last 10 we tried to go more through the middle but in all honesty they were also not extremely fruitful. Mbappe had the worst performance in this shirt. Vini also loses too many easy balls recently I feel like. It’s a tough one to take but these problems could be solved by training some ideas into the players head and not just let them only try to figure it out by themselves
Yeah, it's time for Carlo to go, again. I think his issue is that he grows too complacent. We won a couple trophies last season and now it's all downhill from there. Unacceptable, honestly. You got teams much worse in quality winning sextuples, and we can barely get 2 trophies in a season without having the dumbest upsets and performances. I'm sorry for the language but this game has been the most frustrating in a long time. Absolutely unwatchable.
Ancelotti needs to make up his mind about who's a starter and who's a sub so the team can actually start forming some chemistry. It's all so confusing for everyone. If he had least had some tactics where everyone knew their role independent of who's starting, we wouldn't be having to put up with this. But no, he has no tactics, patterns of play, and no idea who to start, and all this hesitation and confusion is going to cost us the season, even if it's this early.
No matter how great attackers we have but a weak midfield will always hurt us.
Our prior success depended heavily on Prime Modric, Kroos, Casemiro.

The team needs a proven #9. I don't know why they let a player like Joselu leave. He provided an attacking prowess - holdup play, aerial strength, presence in the penalty box. We miss all those and currently need to beat deep blocking defensive lines to create any scoring opportunity. We can't cross because there is no aerial strength and no presence in the penalty box. So, what we have are purposeless short passes in the midfield with no one providing the attacking anchor for the team. That's just the missing link.

-ZHEGROVA owned the left flank of madrid . By owning I mean he literally swallowed VINI, MENDY and FRAN
-VINI was really poor once again
-BELLINGHAM seems lost in left mid role in 4-4-2
-CAMA had a half decent game which we can expect from someone who is coming from a long term injury
-VALVERDE was our best players. Valverde needs rest . Either he will suffer muscular overload or will get an injury if not rested.
-Lille took notes from Simone book and played 3-5-2 and it clearly paid off

Carlo's good fortune has NEVER been down to his good tactical nous, he has been extremely poor with setting this team up, with and without the ball. The players go out on the pitch and FREESTYLE. No one knows, when to make diagonal/vertical runs and the press?
What press? Only Jude or Fede presses and then look behind or next to them and everyone else is either jogging or way behind them, watching...The football is some of the worst I've ever seen from RMCF. We have been seeing this ALL season long and that's the most worrying sight. The only good half of football where everyone played really well was the second half vs Atlanta in the super cup.
It is clear that whatever Carlo does in training has nothing to do with tactics of ANY sort. It's drills and cardio, it has to be.

With the amount of games the players play now, it is imperative to employ an embed a system that the players know. None of that we see, nobody knows what this team will do.

My opinion is that, in the lower midfield, we need players with much more footballistique intelligence, with more game vision (¿visión de juego?). Both Camavinga and Tchouameni are not up to the task for building the attack game, they seem unable of connecting with Bellingham's moves into space. Neither Valverde is too valuable in this regard. I also think the rest of the team knows it and avoid them for building the game forward, this is why so many long passes from the defense line and predictable wing attacks.
Hard to admit it, but Modric doesn't seem the one he was until a couple of years ago, too many mistakes.
I really think we need other kind of lower midfielders (like Rodri, for instance), although unfortunately we can't expect new blood coming soon since the hiring window is closed. So, for this season, I think we should try Bellingham in the lower midfield instead of Tchouameni or Camavinga and Güler in current Bellingham's role, or maybe vice versa.
I guess that Ancelotti thinks that, given that we have a very talented and populated attack line, the rest of the team should be defensive and he is letting them play together until can get along well. Hope he is right, but it's far from working thus far and, what is worse, it doesn't look foreseeable after this last match.

How can you blame Mbappé? He didn't start against Lille, and we played our worst football yet. The reason he goes into midfield to carry the ball forward is obviously because the midfield is incapable of creating chances and being creative enough.
I'm not blaming Mbappe. This issue would have arisen with the arrival of any other forward (Kane or Harland or whoever.) I'm just saying that the arrival of another forward is forcing us to change the style of play, which is taking a bit of time to absorb.
Take a look at Real Madrid's midfield: Camavinga, Valverde, Tchouaméni, and Bellingham. Then add the fullbacks, Mendy and Carvajal. What do you see? This is a physical midfield, with only Bellingham providing any real creativity, and both Mendy and Carvajal are also more physical in nature. It feels like a lineup built to play against Brazil’s '70 squad! Camavinga and Tchouaméni, while technically gifted and physically imposing, haven't shown great chemistry together, and Valverde isn't the type of player like Kroos to create chances.
There’s an overemphasis on physicality, so the inclusion of Modrić and Arda Güler is essential to restore balance between creativity and physicality. This is the coach’s mistake, and I don’t understand why he enters games with a sense of fear, like we saw in the Atlético Madrid match. The attack is left isolated because there’s too much emphasis on physicality, making us look more like Getafe. Pedja Mijatović’s recent comments back up what I’m saying.
Ancelotti’s focus on balance has leaned too much toward defense. Bring it back to its rightful place. Great analysis, keep it up. Hala Madrid!
Every time Carlo says the same line of sentences. I do believe his capacity to control his squad is at its lowest.

One of my frustration with other fans this season has been that so many of them were arguing that we need to go back to 442 and that'd solve the problem. And I kept arguing with people that if you actually look at the problems we have, switching to 442 wouldn't address any of them. I hope that the last 2 matches clearly showed people that switching to 442 doesn't solve anything. The problems are much deeper than that. People just remember that we played 442 last season and we won the league and champions league, so they automatically assume the formation change caused all the problems. That's a really surface level analysis in my opinion.
I'll also add that when I look at how we play this season, I get a sense of unseriousness from our team. And I'm not sure how that can be addressed.

I think Carlo's hands off approach is hindering this team. Our press is even worse than last season which is saying something and the possesion slow and there is lack ideas and creativity in the midfield. Toni's absence is very significant in this.
The last two games was 4-4-2 and the team is even worse and couldn't score more than 1 goal in two games 😳 Toni Kroos was the reason for the 4-4-2 success last season. This is an attacking team, but the coach decides to play defensively most of the times and that's the reasons we're not scoring more. 😢
All we did in the first half was back pass horizontal pass.. of all the touches our defence must have had the major chunk coz its very predictable that the third pass going forward is going to be a back pass from the midfield to the defence.. we are just playing like shit!!!!!

Real lost some energy against Atletico (0:4!) that was very intense and there is disbalance in the team....even for Real Madrid expectation rate is to high compared to last season....The team is not better lost Joselu and Kroos absolut team players and therefore Mpappe und Endrick excellent individual strikers....Joselu was very important in the last 20 minutes and no Kroos no Ordnung just chicken running around holding the ball to long and do not follow any gameplan Kroos had always plan a b c and he expects the ball and knows what he will do with the ball before he gets it, they midfielder have to adept this play style otherwise its wild and not effectiv.....and Ancelotti says Toni Kroos is forgotten, äh not yet.....
This was a trap game, after coming off a very charged game this last weekend. My fear was the team was drained and they played like it no energy. We were a step behind plus I think Carlo’s message has gotten stale and maybe it’s time for a different voice in the locker room
TBH, it was a poor match and I have no idea why Rodrygo sat through it however we should all realise that these players are humans as well. They played a mentally exhausting match against Atletico Madrid who also lost 4 goals to Benfica. A match that was paused for 15 minutes which definitely shifted the momentum and Atletico had to dig deeper to equalise. Same happened to Bayern who lost after an exhausting game against Bayer. Not making excuses tho but I think this loss is a wake up call and a huge reality check for all. And if not for the penalty award it would’ve been a laboured goalless draw.

I still think saying Mbappe causes balance issues is harsh when the thing holding everything together is gone. How can be balance when there is no structual unity/jointedness?? My only comment, as I explained in that prior video I referred to, is that we are now playing with three forwards, which has led to some adjustments and has disrupted the balance of last year's 4-4-2. This would have happened with any other player (Harland, Kane, etc...) It is absolutely no criticism of Kylian per se. I apologize if it came across that way. Rodrygo is clearly still a better footballer than Arda, even if I do prefer the profile of Arda and want him to get more minutes off the bench than currently or starts versus smaller teams
As good as Fede is centrally, we NEED attacking width on the right because our 3 attackers all drift to the left eventually, and Carvajal can't even pass a driving test for kids right now
The main issue with this line-up, is that we're use all our centerbacks AND Tchouaméni, but this is the line-up to use for the biggest matches
It's up to Carlo to manage the team up to pick matches in a way that allow us to play this way against the toughest opponents, although it will be very difficult considering the board let Nacho AND Rafa Marin leave without signing at least 1 replacement
Regardless of formation and players though, the main problem is attitude
Vini clearly doesn't take matches seriously against smaller teams, especially not the 1st half. If these matches are too boring for him, let him start on the bench
Fran was terrible last night. He's terrible both in defence and attack. Mendy, while not exactly brilliant in attack, has provided some key balls over his time, and is mostly solid in defence.
