ABOUT THE SPEAKER -
DR. ABU AMEENAH BILAL PHILIPS was born in Kingston, Jamaica, and grew up in Toronto, where he converted to Islam in 1972. His whole life has been exemplified by his goal of seeking and conveying Islamic knowledge in order to "Change the Muslim Nation through Islamic Education."
In preparation for this goal, he first acquired a B.A. from the College of Islamic Disciplines at the Islamic University of Medina (1979), then an M.A. in aqeedah (Islamic Theology) from King Saud University in Riyadh (1985), and finally a PhD in Islamic Theology from the University of Wales (1994). Interestingly enough, His PhD thesis was on "The Exorcist Tradition in Islam".
After graduation from the University of Medina, Dr Bilal spent ten years teaching Islamic studies in an Islamic high school in Riyadh, and another ten years lecturing in Arabic and Islamic studies in the American University in Dubai, UAE.
In 1994 he founded the first Islamic Information Center in Dubai. He has served as the head of the Department of Arabic and Islamic Studies at Preston University-Ajman, UAE; lecturer and director of the Da'wah and Education at Qatar Guest Center, Doha, Qatar; founder and head of the English medium Islamic studies department of Knowledge International University, Riyadh; founder and head of the College of Da'wah and Islamic Culture (English Section) at Omdurman Islamic University, Sudan; founder and head of Preston International University College in Chennai, India; and founder and Dean of the Islamic Studies Academy in Doha, Qatar.
But perhaps his greatest achievement, and the one for which he was listed in the Jordanian publication, "The 500 Most Influential Muslims", is the historic founding of the Islamic Online University which in only 5 years has over 80,000 students registered from every country on the face of this earth! Unlike the other educational programs he has founded and overseen over the years, IOU makes it possible for any person from any location in the world to receive an Islamic education absolutely free.
IOU was launched in 2007 with a free diploma program in Islamic Studies and introduced its fully accredited tuition-free Bachelor's program (BAIS) in 2010. Plans are currently being made for a Master's program (MAIS) for 2013. Dr. Bilal has served as IOU's chancellor from the beginning.
Dr Bilal Philips has written, translated and commented on over 50 published books on various Islamic topics and he has also edited and published the 56-book Eemaan English Reading Series for children and Muslim schools. Dr Philips has also presented Islamic programs for a number of years on Riyadh Channel 2TV, Sharjah TV, Peace TV, Huda TV, Islam Channel, UK, and the Deen Show, Chicago, USA and GuideUS TV, from Washington USA.
Currently (2012), Dr Bilal is the Imaam and khateeb at Abu Hurairah Center where he teaches 5 free university-level classes weekly and counsels Muslim families two days per week.

Blowing chapters or verses of the Quran on water is really effective against the jinn.

how come some Muslims give sacrifices to jins and say if they dont then the jin punishes them, others say that the jins help them pray and read Quran..others say the jin protect them from evil..is this considered shirk? and if it is then why do such Muslims do it and believe it..Allah (swt) said he created humans and jin kind to worship him ALONE in the Quran,but some will argue and say no that jin cure them or help them get money so have to give offerings to them..i personally know a close family member who has been living this way for years and years and it is very sad.
May we make Dua for them to be guided before they leave this dunya..

They are Allah's creatures just like you and I. They don't have the power to help us or hurt us. Only Allah controls the things that will happen to us, good or bad.
Darice White Those 'Muslims' are obviously not sincere or correct. Jinn don't work free of charge like that. They want something in return. That's when Shirk comes into play. However, 'Muslims' like that don't want to admit fault even when its evidently blatant.

frblaze2 That's because a 'single type of Jinn' or 'Evil Jinn' are generally the ones who possess. And those who are possessed are dealt with, by Exorcists. Muslim Exorcists don't delve into other types of Jinn because there Is no need to.

READING QURAN OVER WATER.
Reciting Quran, for it has a great effect in removing (the effects of) sihr. Ayat al-Kursiy, the ayahs (verses) of sihr from Surat al-A’raf, Surat Yoonus and Surat Ta-Ha, Surat al-Kafirun, Surat al-Ikhlas and al-Mu’awwadhatayn should be recited over the person who has been affected by sihr, or into a vessel. Dua should be made for healing and good health; in particular the du’a which has been narrated from the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him):
He may also recite the above into water, some of which should be drunk by the person who has been affected by sihr, and he should wash with the rest, one or more times as needed. This will remove the sihr by Allah’s leave. This was mentioned by the scholars (may Allah have mercy on them), and by Shaykh ‘Abd al-Rahman ibn Hasan (may Allah have mercy on him) in Fath al-Majeed Sharh Kitab al-Tawheed, in (the chapter entitled) Bab Ma ja a fi’l-Nushrah, and by others.
He can take seven green lotus leaves, grind them up, and put them into water, then recite into it the ayahs and surahs (verses and chapters) mentioned above, and the du’as. Then he can drink some and wash with the rest. This is also useful for treating a man who is being kept from having intercourse with his wife. Seven green lotus leaves should be placed in water, the verses referred to above should be recited into it, then he should drink from it and wash with it. This is beneficial, by Allah’s leave.

Assalaam Dr Bilal. May be you dont know me but you may have come across my name somewhere. I have been helping you with your Online Islamic University (OIU) in East Malaysia a few years back as an exam supervisor. I supervised OIU students taking Diploma and Degree on Islamic subjects online.
Back to your video on jin, this is a good lecture on jin. Its very interesting topic because I have been in this field for more than 8 years helping /healing public esp. our muslims brothers and sisters on voluntarily. I do help the non-muslims too. I dont have a clinic as yet instead I do it in my house and the patient's house. Sometime I accept invititation from various hospitals to help those in need of a complemantry way of healing. Thats include doctors and nurses.
Based on my 8 years of hands-on experience on ruqya syariyyah, its not that easy to mess with the unseen (jinn). But for islamic dakwa sake, this field can be good medium.

If a person blows with saliva after reciting Qur’aan, such as al-Faatihah - which is a kind of ruqyah and is the greatest kind of ruqyah that may be recited over a sick person - so he recites al-Faatihah then blows into the water - there is nothing wrong with this. Some of the salaf did this, and it is effective and beneficial by Allaah’s leave. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) used to blow into his hands when going to sleep, after reciting Qul Huwa Allaahu Ahad, and Qul A’oodhu bi Rabbi’l-Falaq and Qul ‘A’oodhu bi Rabbi’l-Naas, then he would wipe his hands over his face and whatever he could of his body. And Allaah is the Source of strength.

Al Malaikah of The Light Beings as Suwrah 35 of Al Quran leaves it making sense that there would be Suwrah 72 as Al Jinn or The Fire Beings, if we consider that Suwrah 37 is known as an exorcism chapter.
We should remember how the same phrase addressing the beings of choice is 31 times and that is also the number of Ayat in Al Quran that mentions jinn.
How can any claim possession and power the Shayateen min Al Jinn have in this world and over people is anything, except the choices of people according to Islam?
Exorcism can be through anything from regular repentance and increasing remembrance, to reading the devil verses and verses relevant to the healing, to mere orthodoxy and orthopraxy.
Just as Islam does not allow extremism in regular worship, exorcism is not to be harmful or injurious to people and other living things.
Fortune telling is generally vagueness, educated guesses, and cold reading, but even those arts can be connected to traditions that stem from dealing with jinn.
The 30,000 year old Yezidi culture known more recently through the revelation of Malik Taus, Shaytan (Cast out of a place in Avestan) in peacock form approaching 6768 years ago and the black snake with white on its head teach that they can be united in purpose and even form with al jinn.
This sort of thing is reaffirmed in the Christian mythology of places like Hebrews 12.29.

Selective narrations from Islam is very common in this school of thought. It has been recorded that Sahabas used to collect water after Rasul (SAW) did wudu and drank it. Some have collected his hair for Barakah.

That is idolization.. which they promote to the masses to control people, away from our own internal power to change the world, to "save the world" - instead we give up our power into fantasy characters as distractions for the reality we live in, while those who create them are rich. Not all "magic" is bad.. just like we have a choice to do simple acts of good or evil, we have to choice to do the impossible for the greater good.. but all through the power of the most high.. how when we meditate and pray to receive a message from God, we feel lifted, inspired, provides us ideas, to create, to make art, to invent... this is magic too, Intention is the key! The strength to work hard and be dedicated.. this is apart of the magical fabric of creation, just like a seed grows from the soil of the earth.. those that promote falshoods, manipulation, etc are the kind to be rejected. I have his book. A more thorough study is in the book: “The Vengeful Jinn” by Rosemary Guiley. It is a modern study of Jinn phenomena and UFO’s, ghost sightings and so on which are connected to the Jinn. Has many quotes from Quranic surahs and ayats. Miss Guiley has studied this subject for over 20 years and knows her stuff. A great read. The only thing I dislike about the book is that it tries to frighten people about these creatures, which is no good. Anyway, it’s a great source of information on the subject.

I am humble to state that Dr. Bilal Philips has no contact experience with the race of jinn. He seems to talk with his bookish knowledge only.
Again I am humble to advise the Ummah to desist from trying to understand the jinn as it is not obligatory duty in Islam.
However, if anybody is eager to, first perform all the very basic obligatory Islamic religious duties as such prayers, zakaat (compulsory charity), fasting and consecutively do thuwas (supplications) to have the understanding about.
Allah knows all well.

The quran was written by so many humans.
The Holy Bible has the Word of God, the history of Israel, Babylon, Syria, etc, songs of men praising God, missions, etc. Only the ignorant like Dr. Bilal does not see and know that. Even the titles of some books in the Holy Bible are sufficient to know what I have explained. For example, the Songs of Solomon, the Psalms of David.
The Quran, on the other hand, is so confused, disjointed, muslims don't understand it and even the Quran itself says muslims cannot understand it; don't we see the reason in the continuous evil destructions caused by Islam the world over, aren't those telling??

I 've heard muslims say the Jinn caused mischief in our world and the the archangel Gabrieel destroyed them all (by God's orders) except one Lucifer...question...if the Jinn are from a parallel world how did they enter our world, and if Gabrieel destroyed them all...why are any left to cause mischief now?

Prophet Sulaiman had control over the wind too, & that was unique. So control of jin does not necessaraly ve to be unique to him...because he already has unique things to qualify him as unique. There is nothing to say that for sure control of Jin was unique to only Prophet Suleiman.

First through out all kind of medicine or treatment that was given either by sorcerer or herbal or talism. They have to stay with udh or the time and never miss prayer. Jinn prevail when you're in fear. Fear only allah then trust me ruqiya will work
