haha, yes sorry about the random background noises - this was recorded from a hotel somewhere in Borneo, was probably a rare exotic bird of some kind...
I could not get through anatomy without 3D models. A one dimensional textbook pictures just do not speak to my brain. Thank you for posting these videos. I can't tell you how helpful it has been for me to get through school. You're awesome!
superficial fibular branch ->lateral compartment deep fibular branch -> anterior compartment extensor retinaculum holds extensor tendons in place -fibularis longus; lateral head of fibula to distal cuneiform and 1st metatarsal -fibularis brevis (deep); lateral lower 2/3 fibula to 5th metatarsal lateral base -extensor hallucis longus; medial interosseus membrane +medial fibula to base of distal phallanx of great toe -extensor digitorum longus; medial surface of proximal tibia, lateral condyle of tibia, hallucis longus, to bases of intermediate and distal phalanges -fibularis tersius: distal surface of medial fibula, to medial base of 5th metatarsal
Why did I just find these videos on the day before my exam!! These videos are so much better then my lectures!! Your very clear, easy to understand and really good at presenting each muscle. Thanks!!
At 1:12 you say that the DEEP branch or the common perineal nerve supplies the ANTERIOR compartment. And at 1:30 you say that the ANTERIOR compartment is supplied by the SUPERFICIAL branch. You're right the first time. Please check this. Great videos btw. :)
Between 1:00 and 1:15 you said that the superficial branch of the common fibular nerve supplies the lateral compartment, whilst the deep branch supplies the anterior. Then between 1:25 and 1:40 you say that both compartments are supplied by the superficial branch Your tutorials are nevertheless very helpful :)
Thanks for the video 💯 At one point around 1:29-1:35, you made a mistake of saying 'Superficial branch of common peroneal nerve for the anterior compartment' rather than 'Deep'.
i can use ur videos as a lectures instead of my lecs in my college :D thank you .. these videos are so helpful especially in the origin and insertion coz i always face problems in memorizing them :\ thank you
Your videos are amazing. It is really helpful but wish watched it bit earlier. well its never too late :) Thank u so much! the speed is awesome and wording are clear to understand! Awesome Awesome Awesome!
I've been watching a lot of your videos from MS system. They are very clear and I like your speed a lot. So thank you very much. Hopefully this will help me revise for my spotters! Just to point out I think you said superficial branch of common fibular nerve twice accidentally around 1.29, but I'm sure everyone knows you meant Deep branch of common fibular nerve! :D I wish I saw your videos earlier! would have helped me memorize better from lectures.
Did I hear correctly? at first we are told the deep branch of the peroneal nerve serves the anterior compartment, then 2 mins later we are told the superficial peroneal serves the anterior, which is correct please?
Thanks a lot for your great work.......I just hoped you could upload tutorials about the blood supply..... I don't want to move around between so many channels. Thanks again
great video, but at 1:33, I think you made a mistake. You said the anterior compartment was supplied by the superficial branch of the common fibula nerve. However, the anterior compartment is supplied by the deep branch of the common fibula nerve. Correct me if I'm wrong. Thanks
At 01:31 when you say 'these muscles are supplied by the superficial nerve' in relation to the anterior compartment. Is that meant to be the deep nerve? Thank you.
The anterior compartment is innervated by the deep fibular (peroneal) nerve not the superficial branch..😊 but great vid! Simple and straight to the point
I couldn't understand muscles of the leg however now I do perfectly I have a favour to ask if next time you could add the artery supply that would be great thanks!
It was fun watching your video. On what platform you guys make this video? Are you taking some professionals help? I need more this information ASAP. Thanks a lot!
Thank you! I know the names of all the muscles in the leg but I'm having serious trouble identifying them and their attachments...they are very random and very complex....is there an easy way to remember where these muscles attach?
Watching these videos after 11 years of them being posted and still these are the best ones on youtube yet so sar thank you so much .
haha, yes sorry about the random background noises - this was recorded from a hotel somewhere in Borneo, was probably a rare exotic bird of some kind...
Working on vacation? Love the dedication!
yeah sounded like an exotic toilet to me
great to hear! lot's more videos to come, so stay tuned!
Thank you for your generosity having spent so much time to teach us the anatomy.
pppppp0pppppppppppppp00ppp0pppppp
I could not get through anatomy without 3D models. A one dimensional textbook pictures just do not speak to my brain. Thank you for posting these videos. I can't tell you how helpful it has been for me to get through school. You're awesome!
One dimensional textbook?
@@Anonymous-jf7oq they meant 2 dimensional
superficial fibular branch ->lateral compartment
deep fibular branch -> anterior compartment
extensor retinaculum holds extensor tendons in place
-fibularis longus; lateral head of fibula to distal cuneiform and 1st metatarsal
-fibularis brevis (deep); lateral lower 2/3 fibula to 5th metatarsal lateral base
-extensor hallucis longus; medial interosseus membrane +medial fibula to base of distal phallanx of great toe
-extensor digitorum longus; medial surface of proximal tibia, lateral condyle of tibia, hallucis longus, to bases of intermediate and distal phalanges
-fibularis tersius: distal surface of medial fibula, to medial base of 5th metatarsal
This is awesome 👌
Where is tibialis anterior?
Why did I just find these videos on the day before my exam!! These videos are so much better then my lectures!! Your very clear, easy to understand and really good at presenting each muscle. Thanks!!
No problem at at all, hope it helped!
Im a medical student and these videos have been amazing for orienting everything and learning the muscles. Thank you so much!
haha yes I did say that twice for some reason - thanks for pointing that out, I will add a correction in for that now!
Thank you most sincerely Peter. Your tutorials are incomparable and greatly appreciated.
I'd just like to say that I put on chill music in the background as I watch these and it's amazing! Thank you for posting such awesome videos!
At 1:12 you say that the DEEP branch or the common perineal nerve supplies the ANTERIOR compartment.

You're right the first time.
Please check this. Great videos btw. :)

Your videos are brilliant, the speed, diagrams, and detail is spot on! Keep it up!
you create the best anatomy videos everrrr! thanks a lot for making these, making it so easy to understand. lots of love.

Deep peroneal nerve anterior compartment
Superficial peroneal nerve lateral compartment
Posterior compartment tibial merve
Thanks for the video 💯 At one point around 1:29-1:35, you made a mistake of saying 'Superficial branch of common peroneal nerve for the anterior compartment' rather than 'Deep'.
I literally got confused at this point. Lol.
Thanks.
Very good illustrations of muscles!
Thank you Dr Peter De Souza!
May God Bless you for your amazing talent in teaching anatomy! Thank you so much for helping us medstudents 🤗😇

You are a life saver🥺❤❤❤
Correction @1:28 ..deep branch of common peroneal/fubular nerve (ant compartment)
Thank you so much! The penny is beginning to drop now.
Very well explained 👏

Pretty fantastic. Your videos actually stick in my memory. I thank you very much :)
Thank u so much...really very very helpfull✌️😊...Di continue the good work u r doing
You are excellent!!!!!!!! Thank you very much for your time. Very helpful
great video, but at 1:33, I think you made a mistake. You said the anterior compartment was supplied by the superficial branch of the common fibula nerve. However, the anterior compartment is supplied by the deep branch of the common fibula nerve. Correct me if I'm wrong. Thanks
One of the easiest and lovely videos i have watched just now thank you sir 🤍🍁
At 01:31 when you say 'these muscles are supplied by the superficial nerve' in relation to the anterior compartment. Is that meant to be the deep nerve? Thank you.
Correction 1:46
Anterior compartment is supplied by the deep brach of common fibular nerve not superfacial
The anterior compartment is innervated by the deep fibular (peroneal) nerve not the superficial branch..😊 but great vid! Simple and straight to the point
Loving your videos 😍
