Just installed mine and watching your video made it go smooth. Using my, yes Woodpeckers for all the haters, Saw Gauge and it’s spot on. First test cuts were perfect. Thanks for the video
Thank you for the installation video. It's answered my questions on how this fence replaces the OEM face. I noted that you're not covering how to zero the fence scale on the table saw. Per comments below, looks like WP did not have a solution for this issue with the fence. That is a bummer because being able to dial in the cut is so important.
Love the video, thinking of getting one for my PCS. One note on the tray if you have the over arm dust collector, like I do, you’ll be removing that tool tray every time you rip anything of width as it will hit the arm mounted at the end of the table
The Auxiliary Rip Fence has a 12" infeed or outfeed plate. Interesting that they didn't make the Versa-Fence Face Upgrade infeed or outfeed plate with the same length, 7" rather than the 12". I don't know if that would even work with the Versa-Fence but just thought I'd mention that. I bought the Auxiliary Rip Fence and didn't even install it yet because of shoulder surgery. I really like the Versa-Fence Face Upgrade and I have the JessEm Clear Cut Stock Guides as well.
I have the contractor’s saw version and it is well worth the $150. Cutting with that on is a different experience. I don’t know that I’ll ever buy any other Woodpeckers tools though.
@@lpsg405 it’s not, the stock fence is about 1/2” thick and this fence is 7/8” thick. There isn’t enough adjustment on the indicator piece, but I just grabbed a small file and made the slot about a 1/16th inch wider, and I was able to dial it in just fine. Woodpeckers is also coming out with something to answer that issue. Once I get my hands on whatever that solution is I’ll share it here on TH-cam.
@@mowderwoodwork Thanks for the quick reply! I realize there's a good bit of overlap between the Auxiliary and the Versa. I like the Versa for the ease of Jessem use, and was interested in the Auxiliary because I would really like to use the "raise the fence above the blade" feature which would allow me to cut a straight, 90 degree side on a long board that doesn't already have either edge squared up, thereby avoid having to use the jointer. It would be nice to be able to deploy the Auxiliary directly over the Versa when needed (leaving the Versa "permanently installed), provided the Auxiliary would fit without problems... I didn't make this clear before.
Do you have any comments about how flat the fence face is in comparison to the stock fence face plate? And, what do you think the major pros and cons to the Versafence in comparison to the stock fence? Nice video.
It's definitely much flatter that's for sure. But I have a few favorite features with this fence. #1, I like the added support I get with the 48" fence, especially when the indeed support is installed when I'm cutting larger workpieces. I also like how the Jessem Stock Guides fit perfectly in the T-slot. I've been wanting to add those to my saw for awhile but really didn't want to drill into my fence to install them. I also really like the tray that is attached to the right side of the fence. It's nice having a tray to house all my little tools that I always use at the table saw. I like how the tray slides along with the fence so they're always right where I need them, but never in the way when I need to slide the fence left and right.
I have the Jessem guides mounted to plywood with maglocks securing them to my sawstop fence. One thing about mounting them to the center of the fence is that it allows them to be out of the way when cutting stock taller than the fence or when deciding to use a push block. It appears there won’t be enough room for that if they are on yhe edge of the fence like that
yep noticed that too. which means you have to remove them if you want taller stock to be placed against the fence. not often but still annoying. I have same setup with jessem as you and its very easy to swing them out of the way when not in use

How are you able to secure the Add An Inch block now?

What about the scale accuracy? Is it the exact same thickness as the stock fence you removed?

I hope the scale “fix” is not a costly one. It really should be included, even if it comes out later or at least don’t charge $12 to ship😮
Hi Jay, great video! Question: Does the Auxiliary Fence install over the Versa-Fence with no problems?
@@oldman4571 thanks! And with the versa fence, there really is no need for the auxiliary rip fence, especially if you get the 48” versa fence

Looks like a nice solution, does Woodpeckers plan to make a version that will be compatible with the 2 fence styles Powermatic makes?

LOL, built for the SawStop but doesn't ship with a fix for the indicator. Brilliant.
When I hear "Woodpeckers", I'm out. Their company slogan should be: "Making woodworking expensive again."
It's cheaper than the bow version
Then by all means, don't make it yourself. Buy the "cheaper" woodpeckers geegaw.😅
Ummm yeah your way took longer than using the mag switch method. Shill.
