Also, for anyone curious Eufy will intentionally disable the "24/7 SD card recording" if the camera cannot reach their servers over a 48 hour period despite there being no logical or technical reason to do something like this. It's not a bug, it is an intentional behavior they built into many of their products.

A.) You’re not the main character. Contrary to what you believe, noone cares what you’re doing, B.) yeah EVERY security camera is insecure, everyone’s spying on everyone… because this is Watchdogs, C.) Must be exciting not having a smart phone or computer or laptop because “Ohnoes, Anonymous is accessing your WiFi!”. Also, Eufy stores video on internal removable micro ssd cards. Your data isn’t being monitored unless you want it to be. JFC, Luddites everywhere.
It's stupid to say that the security issues have been resolved as they were not.

I've been mulling these cameras over for quite some time now. If I won the money, I'd deck out our entire house with them!

My biggest issue is the MASSIVE privacy issues. Look no farther than Ring Camera. If it's not locally hosted I don't trust it.
My biggest issue with eufy is their home base. Had mine on a apc for two years and it died without reason. All of my eufy cameras were useless without it. Had to shell out 80$ with a 20% discount from their support. If it dies in another couple of years I’m switching.
Not sure, mounting your security cameras with Velcro is the best idea? I have the same system it’s OK, I really like my Google nest interface better, and it gives me more flexibility, however, the Google battery cameras, even when plugged in don’t stay charged and so I have since moved to Eufy as a secondary system.
Already started buying Eufy products after watching several videos on them. My house was recently robbed which is why I'm looking to get more cameras keeping an eye out. But I didn't want to pay a monthly subscription for storage or just to have all the features to work. Eufy comes through where no other manufacturers don't. I bought this indoor camera and want to get more of them around the house. I had Arlo cameras outside but those require replacing batteries almost every month depending upon how much things they detect. But again, no storage and features are limited. That's why I'm switching to Eufy.
In my case I am looking for an indoor and outdoor camera system because I have a teenager at home and my wife and me are working all day. I have a eufy door bell and I like it a lot. If I have the oportunity to get that gift card I will use it to buy a eufy system for sure!!! Thanks for the oportunity and keep making outstanding videos in youtube!!
When your internet go away... you loose connection on all my cameras. I have this situation a truck took out my internet main line outside the house. I am trying to find the offline mode in the app... I cannot find it anymore. Useless when you have no internet.

I've been happy with the Eufy camera's overall. Work well and have 5 right now. I just wish more of their camera's supported Apples HomeKit!!! As for the privacy issue, I don't see how "they got in front of it". If anything, they kept denying it until their hands were forced to admit it. I'd never trust any camera inside my home though, so it's not a major deal breaker for me. If people end up snooping on mine, they can see the yard like all the cars that pass by.

Eufy.... What a joke, don't even bother. They didn't get ahead of it, they actually got caught lying and exposed once again the same security expert that reported the exploits to them originally.

they will just find another way to send the video to their server without asking the user, also disabling 24/7 recording when not connected to their servers is highly questionable

Just tossed my Eufy cameras. Total loss of trust with them. Big liars. Plus their doorbell sucks. Their software can’t tell the difference between a human and a bush. Real POS.

@wuzzup129 I'd definitely spend that 500 on upgrading my home security. A lot of unexpected things can happen even in a peaceful neighborhood. One time a few years ago there was a fugitive on the run and he traveled through my neighborhood. I've never seen so many police cruisers in one place.

Would love to win this $500. I would have to say I would try to stretch my budget to get the Eufy Home System Alarm, and a security camera to start with it. I'm a lover of tech and am slowly taking my time upgrading my family home. This would go along way to help with that. Eufy, no fees!!!!
