I first got the basic eero back in like 2016, this week I just upgraded to eero pro 6 and use my old eero as a wired extender in the office in the basement. My favorite thing about eero is the ease of use and the app. It just all works.
@@jon4lakersHey how you doing, I'm Adrian I was wondering if you can use one of your phones so can see if you have Ringtone Free Flight, that's my favorite Ringtone.
I got the Eero pro 6 3 pack for Christmas two years ago and loved it very much. last year I got 2.5 GB fiber so I upgraded the main router to a 6E version. I love it but I was a little bummed that it didn’t have more than one 2.5 GB port, I can only use the 2.5 GB port for the WAN not LAN. so as soon as they announce this thing I jumped on it I ordered it a couple days ago. It actually arrived today and I have not hooked it up yet. I’m going to in about an hour after writing this so excited!! Great video Jon!
6e is a waste for you. You need wifi 7. If you hardline to a switch you will be capping yourself to 1gb. Over wifi you'll end up losing at least 20% speeds over it
1:34 this happens ever week when they shut down the network for maintenance bro In my country the highest speed available is 2.4gb but this mesh networking is worth to buy
My old eero are on there last leg. I have been looking at new eero wifi 7 system but they are out of my price range at the moment. So if I was picked it I would be every thankful I love my eero and hate my isp gateway it drops its connection
If i had one of those probably the first thing i would stream is some kind a nature documentary, and if by any chance i win the price it will go to pay on of my installments for my master thesis. Very nice product and amazing review.
I have an older home and my modem and original eeros router is on the first floor (can’t be moved without a lot of effort) but a sever which needs internet is on the second floor. Can you use the Eeros 7 Ethernet ports to plug into that device and give it internet access? This might be a no brainer question I’m still trying to learn. Thanks for any guidance you could provide.
Even though I have up to 5GB fiber at my home I’m sticking with 1GB solely because I’m grandfathered into AT&Ts free Max plan. I get more value out of that than faster speed. Maybe if that ever goes away, I’ll upgrade to 2GB
i really love eero routers but sadly i wish there was a windows app also so i don't need my phone or a IP lookup like older routers but still keep the phone app
I am still using a wifi 4 2.4GHz router at home :) but it has started to feel slow so I am looking for a upgrade and wifi 7 router I think would be great and future proof for atleast some years. I would stream Mad Max Fury Road in 4K using new setup before Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga releases. Merry Christmas & Happy New Year in advance folks @srhtripathi
You didn't demonstrate or explain the actual setup. For example, where/why would the 4 Gb ports be used. Is the USB connected to a wall plug for power?
So i have Cox fiber 2gb, and I'm preordering the Ps5 Pro in 3 days. How would i get the most out of the eero Max 7? Do i need some special type of ethernet cable? Do i connect it to one of the 10Gbe ports?
Awesome love to get my hands on VR hardware ...hope I can win....eero Max 7 tri-band mesh wifi system is interesting, didnt know that already wifi 7 is out
Eero Max 7 has issues with Bridged mode that the PRO 6 didn't. I have used Eero mesh systems for the last three iterations on bridged mode (behind a Sonicwall firewall). This week I decided to upgrade the Eero Pro 6 (which consistently gets 800 to 900GB download) with the Max 7. Unfortunately, I'm using the EXACT same configuration the Max 7 and it only gets about 160 GB down... consistently) . If I put the PRO 6 back, I'm back to >800. Put the Max 7 back down to
Sir Thank you last time for being generous what you did for me was a big help for my wife, Again thank you so much sir I pray you Always for more success in the future.
😂Sounds like someone finally started doing it the way apple did all those years ago with the Airport! We still have our Airports but could switch to the eero Max 7 when those break!
Would this be an upgrade from Netgears RBK852 for example. Most of my products are now 6E, so don’t see the point going to Netgear’s 6E orbi system. Don’t know if to wait for their WiFi 7 quad band version, or change completely to Eero for example. Max internet I get is 1Gb over Ethernet and 2/400 mb over WiFi. Need a mesh system as I have aluminium wrapped insulation in the walls, so my office is like a Faraday cage without a satellite in there.
I love the eero systems and understand the simplicity of them. However, give me the option of band steering or at least be able to see which band you're currently utilizing! These systems should give you the basic options to manually adjust certain parameters.
The eero 7 is almost $1,700. Isn’t that a little out of the average Wi-Fi users price range? I’ve used the eero mesh system for 5 years and was excited for this system until I saw the price. I think I’ll wait until the price is reasonable.
As a new dad of 2 kids, there’s a lot of streaming in my household. Between the wife, kids and myself, this Eero would be a difference maker considering all the connected products.
Exactly. 4K doesn’t even use or push the OG stuff. I only trashed the original mesh system with 4K google gaming which doesn’t exist anymore. Don’t waste your money on the 7 variant. Way too expensive.
When a product sponsors your video is the main reason to not buying it. It means it's far from being an honest review, which doesn't exist in TH-cam anymore, BTW.
Being the Tech dad in the family this would come in clutch for the Xmas movie weekend coming up and the gift card would go a long way for gifts this year @OldSkoolSK8

Not to be boring, but this would be a game changer for my WFH setup. I work in IT and this would be the perfect upgrade for my house.
not boring at all!

It does show you what band devices are on… but you are right, I wish it would let you choose.
It shows you in the app which band your device is connected to, and Client Steering (part of which does band steering) is enabled by default.
So you're saying you can adjust which band you want to be on manually? @@SaulSutherland
