Focusing on the scale and weight loss triggers my manager diet mentality part versus focusing on being bright supports my recovery from addiction. For example when I am bright and checking the scale and losing weight my diet mentality part sneaks in and whispers to me to start shaving off food in order to lose weight faster. Fascinating!

Thank you Wendy! I have been meaning to write in this very question for months cause I caught myself saying something about being good or bad and realized that was diet mentality. Thank you Susan for another fabulous vlog!!
It is always nice to get it well defined. I do think we have a lot of vocabulary surrounding just not following the plan! Maintenance by exception and tinkering. Ultimately that isn't really doing brightline eating. You can also be really motivated by the weight loss and there is nothing wrong with that, but if you don't attend to your program you will eventually fall off the wagon....Shout out to Wendy, i have interacted with her online and met her in person.
2 yrs ago I lost half my body weight; 132 lbs. And, then I put most of it back on. Now, I have more knowledge as to why. I've said before, "I've been on every single diet there ever was, lost weight, and go right back to being heavy and uncomfortable. Now, I have more knowledge as to why. I'm doing BLE right now, and I will be changing my mentality right this second. I will eat the way I know is healthy, incorporate my bright lines and stop weighing myself consistently. No more Sugar, Wheat or Diet Dr. Pepper for me. I know what it does to my Brain Health as well as the way I look and feel. ❤ Thank you Susan!
Wow, very enlightening. I was definitely on the diet mentality side of the scale (no pun intended), but i have gradually shifted to the lifestyle/mental mindset side😊
Thank you Dr Susan, I greatly appreciate it. I am not part of your program yet, fingers crossed. When you say part of the meal plan? Does this mean I have to follow strict recipes every day or just guidelines?
Hi there, no strict recipes--although we do have a cookbook if you're so inclined. We have a weight loss food plan to help you know exactly how much of a protein, vegetable, grain, or fat you need! You can find the food plan starting on page 136 of the Bright Line Eating book (which you can find at the library). We hope this helps 💞
There are a few of us that are all in 100% on maintenance but also want to lose weight from weight creep. I thought I had a weight loss mentality because of that. By your definition, maybe I am not having weight loss mentality. So what do you call a person like me? Trying to adopt the identity of a maintenance person. Second time going through the maintenance course.

"No, thank you" is perfectly fine! 🧡 This point was more about identity than how to say "no." But to that point, whatever you are comfortable saying and works for you is fine! Many folks find they need to have a few responses ready in case they receive questions or push-back. It can sometimes be a tricky, uncomfortable social situation to navigate. We actually have 2 whole vlogs about it called "Languaging Our 'No, Thank You'" and "Creative 'No, Thank Yous'."
Best Blog yet. This will help redirect me as I stuggle at 315lbs. Patience, right Mentality and Visualizing the Future
Sending you so much love 🫂🧡🫂

I keep hearing things about a bright line eating membership, but I cannot find any information. Can someone help me?

When the cookies are passed around can you just say no thank you? Is saying I don't eat sugar important?
