Great work, James! I loved how Molly's appearances were used in this kill count. Sadly, Bijou Phillips wasn't acting. According to Heather Matarazzo, the day before filming began, a party was thrown for the cast and crew to get to know each other. At that party, a producer offered everyone pills to deal with jetlag and the time difference. She turned them down because she had been sober for nearly a year. For whatever reason, this set Bijou off. Heather alleges that Bijou threw her up against a wall and choked her for 15-20 seconds and said, “I’m going to make sure that you relapse on this film.” She still hasn't apologized to Heather.

the more i see and hear about heather matarazzo the more i like her like the fact she was game to learn to hang upside down for extended periods of time to be considerate of the cast/crew is so wholesome despite the fact the scene is the opposite of that lol. Lauren German is a very underrated actress I feel like i see her in small roles everywhere and she always does a great job. the magic word/to the numbers bit also might be my favorite of the series lol Also its funny how i only know of that icelandic spa bc of the video i watched by safiya nygaard (also i feel like james and chelsea should consider it as a vacation spot whenever they wanna take a rest from all the work and everything theyve been thru this year)
Honestly, after watching this movie and looking up the actors, including her, I really don't care for her. I found an article she wrote complaining about not getting parts, and specifically cites losing out for a role for a woman character that she herself describes as "sexy" being one of her key traits listed. The rest of the article is her complaining about not getting those kinds of roles. I don't mean to sound like a jerk, but I don't think you can get upset at not getting cast as a traditionally attractive person if you aren't traditionally attractive, especially in a line of work where a huge part of casting is the look. It's the same with guys and muscles. No one's giving the role of Conan The Barbarian to Kevin Smith, ya know?
I love this sequel! Lorna’s death will always be seared into my brain, I remember shaking with fear after watching it late at night with my childhood best friend. It’s always so weird seeing her pop up in Scream or Princess Diaries after seeing that 😂
This might be my favorite episode for the Pee-Wee gag, plus the Chelsea feeding James to the dog gag, I love watching you two (and your little pets too)!
The secert word bit is such a hysterically perfect tribute to Paul Reubens. I honestly thought it was on purpose until James said it wasn't at the end. I'm glad you left it in. I just know whereever he is he saw and it made him laugh.
Don't know why. Brits at Oxford are the ones who came up with the name 'soccer' in the first place. It came from shortening the 'Association' from 'Association Football' and then adding -er at the end, which was a common suffix added to slang at the time. Another term that came about was 'rugger' for rugby which sadly never caught on as much.
I get weird looks when I say it but hostel part 2 has to be in my top 10 favorite horror movies. The main character is incredibly smart and tries to keep her friends safe
that’s definitely a weird one, i think the franchise as a whole is great in terms of them actually showing people what goes on irl, but bad in terms of production. the first movie is the only one I can keep rewatching.
@@KingJadInfiniteHopethe first one really is Miles better than the sequels. The second one just pisses me off at the end tbh since I wanted all of those bad guys to suffer but nope 😂

Haha, nice costume! I always liked Hostel II since it gives a different perspective from the buyer's view this time. Makes you rewatch part one with different eyes
It’s so bizarre seeing two characters from the Desperate Housewives series in this movie. I grew up on that show and it’s always so surreal seeing the actors in intense roles like this after seeing so much soap opera type stuff from them 😂
It's fun, for me, on the very first level and when looked at purely through a victim vs direct villain lens. Anything deeper makes it much less fun. The men lost because they aren't as evil as some of the people there. The only way the victimized woman was empowered was becoming a part of the system that was used to kill her friends and even then joining them and giving them money. I would say the final revenge kill in this is even worse as well. When the guys killed the plant girls in the first movie it felt cathartic for them to realize that those girls were a part of this disgusting system and deserved no sympathy. Paxton killed the ones who were a part of the system that he could see and get at. Our new main character instead paid the main, true villain who we got introduced to and then killed some very low level girl as if to show that the guy with all the power that is setting all this up is okay to some degree due to his power to the point where it's fine to work with him, but this girl who has a minuscule amount of the power the leader has is our cathartic ending kill? Really doesn't have the vibes I'm looking for.
I love this movie, especially the twist ending. Also, all my respect to Heater Matarazzo for her performance on the kill scene and all the training before it !
You know for years I wrote off these movies for being mindless violent crap but seeing all the work and passion and the love that went into it has really opened my eyes. I never knew and I appreciate Hostel so much more after watching these kill counts.
Love the inclusion of team members like the cutaway to Tim, love seeing the intricacies of these productions! Almost like a peek behind the scenes in horror movies :)
The comment about the things that have come out about Bijou Philips got me curious because I'd never heard of her, and damn is that one hell of a depressing rabbit hole to go down.
I always liked Eli Roth... even when I don't always love his movies he just seems like a genuine guy who just has an appreciation for the horror genre and passion for movie making.
My wife just got me a Let’s get to the Kills sweater and I can’t wait to wear it all fall and winter long once I’m out of the hospital!!! Thanks for always putting a smile on my face ❤
I feel like opening with Paxton being tracked down and killed hurts the rest of the movie. It tells us that nothing the new protagonists do really matters, because even if they get away, they’re still going to be tracked down and killed anyway.
I already saw the news that Paul Reubens died almost 3 weeks ago. He’ll always be a good comedian as well as Pee-Wee in his own character. Rest In Peace.

That whole sequence at 17:50 was amazing! I like how Zoran was shocked at the start when the "cut" happened.
the more i see and hear about heather matarazzo the more i like her like the fact she was game to learn to hang upside down for extended periods of time to be considerate of the cast/crew is so wholesome despite the fact the scene is the opposite of that lol.
Lauren German is a very underrated actress I feel like i see her in small roles everywhere and she always does a great job.
the magic word/to the numbers bit also might be my favorite of the series lol
Also its funny how i only know of that icelandic spa bc of the video i watched by safiya nygaard (also i feel like james and chelsea should consider it as a vacation spot whenever they wanna take a rest from all the work and everything theyve been thru this year)
Honestly, after watching this movie and looking up the actors, including her, I really don't care for her.
@@LordBigSlime Major ick. I feel bad for every woman in your life if you think she isn't pretty.
@@jijitters
I think she's pretty. But he has a point. It's Fu**Ed up but it's the way film business is.
It’s unfortunate that Paxton’s character had such a heroic escape just to be killed like that in the sequel
Yeah it does cheapen the first film, and he didn’t even go down fighting and it was offscreen !
Scooby doo reference,or just coincidence?
The secert word bit is such a hysterically perfect tribute to Paul Reubens. I honestly thought it was on purpose until James said it wasn't at the end. I'm glad you left it in. I just know whereever he is he saw and it made him laugh.
Was doing a Kill Count binge and this popped up just as I finished the count for 'The Hunt' - awesome timing James!
Cringe-inducing.
Same, but I was binging the Texas Chainsaw kill counts.
I love binging kill counts! I usually do it yearly with an update on number of Kill Counts.
And?
@@ZacharyReskyI regularly binge the Saw, Final Destination, and more recently the Friday The 13th and Scream recounts
Beth is definitely one of my favourite final girls, that bargaining scene is really fucking good imo
As a Brit, seeing James call it football and not soccer when the bubble gum boys played with the severed head made me very happy😂
Also originally the term they used was 'assoccer'. Imagine if that was the term that caught on.
@@adamvialpando106 love a good game of assball
@@jhaddderz I might call it assball just to annoy my friends. And I'll just say that I'm going by the OG slang.
I think he was doing an impression of foreigners who shout football in a particular accent, so for the Bubblegum Kids it would make more sense.
i love how james always presents sponsors as something fun and creative and not boring!!❤️
may i just say i loved that "prague rocky start" joke? The wordplay is usually on point in these videos, but that was a whole other level! loved it
Thanks! That was a Tim joke!
@KingJadInfiniteHope I mostly enjoy it cause Beth is incredibly smart, when the inn keeper hands her a drink she quickly dumps it when he turns around
The kill scenes in this movie are wild I see why this would be one of your favorites
*Hostel.
@@KingJadInfiniteHopethe first one really is Miles better than the sequels. The second one just pisses me off at the end tbh since I wanted all of those bad guys to suffer but nope 😂
I’ll always remember when I saw this in the theater and I was so horrified seeing Heather Matarrazzo’s death seen because I love her and have always found her so endearing.
I always love a Molly cameo!
Probably wouldn't have been feasible, but how funny would it have been if James said "Sorry Tim" and then it cut to a headless Tim dummy with Lucy eating cat food out of the neck and then James was like "Oh. Never mind... Sorry Tim."
I actually liked this movie better than the first. I love how you show the behind the scenes goodies and how much work the crew put into production. One of my closet faves for sure.
I remember first watching this channel with only half a million (which is still a lot) subs and now they’re hitting 7 mil. Couldn’t have been happier. Love you James
1:51 that scene gave me lots of Midnight meat Train vibes, I was almost hoping for James to say there was going to be a bonus kill count at the end
Funny that movie was a year before Cooper was in Hangover
Bro 17:52 has to be the most funniest bit ever in a kill count, literally couldn't breathe over how much I was laughing.
Bravo James and Co 👏
I couldn't hear James say " the movie begins/ end's" until I'm old and still never get tired of it 😊❤
Same here.
So?
couldn't??? or could

As both a musical theater nerd and a fan of the show Lucifer, seeing Roger Bart and Lauren German was a trip. Thanks for discussing Roger’s illustrious Broadway career
Hey Luci, come get Detective Decker!
17:48 is probably the hardest I’ve laughed at any of you’re videos. Like a genuine chortle
Remember watching this as a kid, it's what introduced me to horror movies lol. Great work James
Hell of an introduction huh?
Must say it indeed was. Then a serbian film on top of that@@NrettG
@@dutch1855 Damn, hope your impression of Eastern Europe wasn't forever damaged by that
i also watched Hostel as a kid. Its probably a miracle that I like horror movies as an adult as Hostel 1 put me off watching any horror for literal years afterwards
We had no business watching this as kids😂
Haha, nice costume! I always liked Hostel II since it gives a different perspective from the buyer's view this time. Makes you rewatch part one with different eyes
It’s so bizarre seeing two characters from the Desperate Housewives series in this movie. I grew up on that show and it’s always so surreal seeing the actors in intense roles like this after seeing so much soap opera type stuff from them 😂
17:50 has to be one of my favorite bits you guys have ever done. It was HILARIOUS!!! 🤣🤣🤣
Damm man! Dat bloodbath scene was one of the most disturbing scenes I saw as a kid!
James and his team did an excellent work covering this series!
Whoa how were you allowed to watch this movie as a kid?
One of my favorite endings to a movie ever. The power shift was amazing.
Not really
@@balabanasiretibro really said nuh uh
"the third and final installment will be direct to video, and bad" I don't know why that line killed me so much 😂
Straight to video films are almost always bad
9:40 I’ll always know what you did last summer was sooo bad lol 😂 😂😂
I love this movie, especially the twist ending. Also, all my respect to Heater Matarazzo for her performance on the kill scene and all the training before it !
One of the most satisfying endings ever, the elief i felt after she joined them 😭
You know for years I wrote off these movies for being mindless violent crap but seeing all the work and passion and the love that went into it has really opened my eyes. I never knew and I appreciate Hostel so much more after watching these kill counts.

The “that’s the secret word!” bit killed me, I love the comedy on this channel so much XD
For such a fucked up and horrific duology, the Behind the Scenes footage are some of the sweetest I've ever seen.

I have replayed 17:58 for over 2 minutes straight. Love it!
Laughed so hard at the “I’ll just cover that up, it’ll be ok” narrative! 😂
James using a handle from his gym equipment as a train handle is amazing.
15:56 I love the little references in the scripts to other films actors starred in. But this Harry Potter one popped me lol
The comment about the things that have come out about Bijou Philips got me curious because I'd never heard of her, and damn is that one hell of a depressing rabbit hole to go down.
I always liked Eli Roth... even when I don't always love his movies he just seems like a genuine guy who just has an appreciation for the horror genre and passion for movie making.
you should watch his 'History of Horror' series he did, there's 3 seasons

Ngl the "secret word" skit had me laughing so hard I actually shed tears. Amazing work!
I loved how James took time to honor the late Paul Reeubens. R.I.P Pee Wee. 🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊🕊
I’ve been counting down the days until Hostel II, it always feels like the longest week ever when waiting for the Kill Count
Another spooky banger. Thank you, Jameson.
My wife just got me a Let’s get to the Kills sweater and I can’t wait to wear it all fall and winter long once I’m out of the hospital!!! Thanks for always putting a smile on my face ❤
I love how the numbers count graphics have evolved over the years. Props to the whole team!
I feel like opening with Paxton being tracked down and killed hurts the rest of the movie. It tells us that nothing the new protagonists do really matters, because even if they get away, they’re still going to be tracked down and killed anyway.
