To be honest I have no idea why anyone would buy this for that price. If it had a Porsche engine I’d get it but With electric your just buying an expensive badge it’s no Porsche in my opinion

940HP is 940 HP! For these you can get the 4S which is 3.4 sec car for less than $120. You have options. The Turbo S is killing most super cars and it has the handling of a ICE Porsche. Think about it. The top 911 ICE is over 250k. The Taycan turbo S and turbo GT are the fastest cars they make!

This is the car that my Mach-E aspires to grow up to become.
I think this Taycan is really improved. The sedan is really good looking. But optioned up, it is more expensive than a RS6 Avant wagon which is faster, more practical and I think better looking. I'd rather have a V8 than listen to Star Trek noises. But this is a great choice if you really want an EV and money is no object.

If we ignore the Turbo designation, after the S the next trim is the GTS. So with the Turbo name Porsche could use the Turbo GTS name.

He was passing a semi! Then got over after he passed. Multiple cars then passed him. Then he got back over to pass another truck. Looks to me that he was doing just fine. Looks like others were also in the left lane as he passed three people while he was in the right lane.

Would not be surprised if the taycan turbo GT beats the plaid in the quarter mile and even 0-100. Porsche likes to understate performance. We’ll see when they start being available for performance reviews! Cannot wait

The MSRPs of the new Porsche EVs are starting to go up as fast as the depreciation of used ones is accelerating down. I guess if a fully equipped Macan Turbo EV is pushing up over $160K the price of the new Taycan must rise as well. I hope the people who buy them really enjoy them for this kind of money.
Did Porsche get rid of the finger sweep to open the charge door? Must have had a lot of problems with it because that was kind of cool. That Olea leather looks very nice indeed.

Lol and loose. My RV-10 has 260hp and cruises at 200 mph for 800 miles. No traffic jams, no traffic lights, no toll roads and most importantly no speeding tickets.
Yea the price on these are insane it’s better to buy these used in a few years from now so that you don’t lose a lot of money in depreciation.

I was at a Porsche dealer the other day testing a 2014 Cayman S and while there looked at some of the 911's, Taycan's etc they had on the floor. Who TF takes a $300k 911 over a Ferrari, Lamborghini, Aston Martin, McLaren, etc...? bonkers, Oh and the 10 year old Cayman S with a tear in the seat, scuff on the bumper and peeling PPF was 60% of the new 2024 spec'd price. Sorry Porsche I loved the sound of that flat 6 but that is crazy town.
I'd take an Audi RS6 Avant over this any day.
This is the only car I would entertain selling my Viper to get.

Try to review a 2023 gmc Acadia at4 fully loaded, stickers for around 50-51k. Makes great power from the v6 and is butter smooth in luxury car level - a great family three row suv

So much power that you can’t use
The problem with sporty EVs is that , the base model vs the top trim have the SAME drivetrain , give or take a electric motor or 2 but most can't tell tbe difference...if you don't care about 600 vs 800hp there's 0 point to go for the top trim, vs ICE cars where the base can be a 4 cylinder and the top trim can be a V8..
Except that at this point the whole point is exclusivity. Nobody really needs a car that does 0-60 in 3 seconds.
Ok so there are a lot of discrepancies here. All of the Taycan cars for 2025 now come with the active air ride as standard. Secondly what you are trying to see as a hands free setup is a lane change warning device. The idea is that if you drift in you lane the steering will tip slightly to move you back into your lane. After a very brief time if you do not touch the steering it will alert and ask you to take control. If you don't it will pull on the seat belt first giving 3 sharp jolts as if to wake you up. My friend, if you are to be taken seriously please learn your subject matter and don't use last year option list for the suspension.

I would really like the 718 EV. But the way Porsche gouges you for every option is a big turn off. I saw 911 review the other day and the Blindspot warning was a $1000 option.

The Taycan consistently out performs range estimates by a significant amount, rest of VW EVs are pretty spot on with range estimates equated to real life. The company that lies about their range numbers and constantly under delivers is Tesla.

A redundant practice. Unlike an ICE vehicle, an EV inherently offers instant torque so there's no boost to build.
One of the best infotainment system??? Are you kidding right? I own a taycan and it has one of the crappiest system I have ever had….. soo slow, phone gets disconnected all the time….if you have CarPlay connected the buttons on the steering wheel are disabled……my 5 years old BMW x5 has a much better infotainment.
Something must be wrong with your Taycan infotainment, my 4S Cross Turismo doesn't seem to have any of those infotainment issues

liked the review but every American auto reviewer needs a mandatory lesson how to drive in Europe before anyone gets on a street - You just can't chill on the left lane and when you like it overtake everybody on the right lane. This is really dangerous and illegal

The point of buying a Porsche is heavily based on its ENGINE. If you take that away, what’s the point of buying a Porsche? $300k for handling? If I want the cream of the crop electric car, Tesla is the most tried and true and it doesn’t cost 300k. 🤷🏻♂️
Negative, the point is its handling and performance. Although the quality of the engineering is note worthy, it doesn't really matter if the power comes from and ICEngine, or an electric motor. Besides, what does an ICE have the an EV does not?
Nice looking car for sure. Not worth it for that ludicrous price. Electric isn't fully ready for prime time, unless you enjoy stopping and charging for an hour. I'd much rather have a gas powered Panamera, or a Nissan GTR which is faster than this car and has much more R&D by this point.
This Porsche will drive between 300 and 390 miles and you can top up 80 percent in 18 minutes. This has fast charging Tech. After a 300 mile drive you will want to stop and grab a coffee and use the bathroom so that isn't a problem. BTW this would smoke a Nissan GTR which is ancient
