I love all the innovators of ROCK'n'ROLL but Bo Diddley is by far my favorite ! He was so unique , his big beat , he built guitars , wrote his own music , etc... Also I just learned recently that he resided in New Mexico ( Peralta ) where he had a ranch with his family , He was a back-up sheriff there too , I want to get more of his music and read his biography if there is one ...Thanks for doing this mini-doc , I wish there was more on the net about him.

Wow… I remember that commercial 😂😂😂. He said he was a creator and that he was. Giving his ex wives song credits, shows exactly how good of a person he was. May he be Resting In Peace. Great video!!

Yeah one of the first artists I remembered. That beat was wild. My older brothers were always singing his song back in the late 50s. This was a good piece on him. Thanks.

Appreciate your video, but you should have spent some time on the subject of where did he get the idea for the rectangle guitar, and the obvious, how did he Come up with his famous Bo Diddly beat?

Chuck brought entertainment, Bo took it to church.
Chuck had all the licks and lyrics, but started with a Missouri semi-country background.
Bo brought a wonderful Chuch of God sound to rock (see Rev Louis Overstreet here). Heck, Bo Diddley the song almost sounds sacred. Lyrics? Not so much. Licks? He didn't care. Licks make you listen too closely. He wasnt a performer, he was a musician glad that you paid to enjoy it.

No diddley is beyond comparison in musical talent compared to many of his contemporaries. It is fairly easy to really hear the African rhythm and beats deeply intertwined within Bo’s music. In my opinion, while many of his fellow artists drew from African beats, Bo’s composition deeply used beats indistinguishable from other rhythmic cords. No matter how you see it, bo diddley was hugely influential to many people be it black or white.

You completely left out everything he did with George Thorogood in the 80's with the Bad to the Bone record and George Thorogood video and kind of relaunched his career. Thorogood made his song Who Do you Love famous again as well. Nive video.
