Survival can be tough in the Aravalli Mountains of north-western India, especially during the barren dry period.

Over the years, these grey langurs (aka. Indian hanuman langur) have developed a unique survival strategy that sees them almost entirely dependent on humans for part of the year. In turn, the local people worship the monkeys as representatives of the Hindu god Hanuman. We explore how this unusual human-animal bond works.

It is a wonderful documentary. Thank you. Hope you can make more of such documentaries on how similar sacred bonds in India have ensured the survival of fish, crocodiles and many other similar animals which are taken care of by devotees visiting temples related to which these animals belong. A special documentary on the Bishnoy religious group, who have a long history of protecting the flora and fauna as their religious creed, will be highly appreciated. Thank you.
Really this channel is a Nature and Documentary lover's paradise.
Please make a video on elephant god Ganesha
Hanuman is not the son of Shiva...u r spreading wrong knowledge
It’s millennia old - and no need to apologise brother/sister. It’s greatly appreciated having a positive video about India and how we treat our wildlife as fellow beings who inhabit this world. Namaste to you. Jai Hanumanji 🙏🏽
Lord Hanuman was an avatar of Lord shiv and his father was Vayu dev(god of wind ) hence Lord hanuman was also called Pavan putra(son of wind)
India is so beautifully vivid. Sometime Indians are foreigners to its own country, so much things to see and know.
i'm one of the indians foreign to my country
@@7c18langit2 yeah
Such an underrated channel
I love the Indian people and their relationship with animals they are truly a beautiful people and I wish to visit them ❤️ 🇮🇳
That is such a lovely thought! Thank you for sharing it with us 🐒
Aravalis are a much larger mountain range that what is led to believe here. It's actually one of the oldest geological formations of planet. Unfortunately, it is being mined illegally to such an extent that entire hills have gone missing.
Near Delhi, the craters of these ancient mountains artificially eroded by mining have been filled with garbage and have become a mountain of garbage.😢
🙏 Jai Shri Ram
🙏 Jai Hanuman
Correction : Vayu (God of wind) is the father of Lord Hanuman.
Yes , pawan dev
It need not be a correction . Even shiva is considered to be his father . And in some versions, hanuman himself as the reincarnation of shiva . After all, there are lots of versions for the same fairy tales. So people usually make their own versions suitable to their local prejudiced narratives !
It's funny to hear a god that has a parents
'Is Believed'
The monkeys do look very windswept and aerated
Wow!
Turns out not all religions are self serving!
Every life is sacred for Hindus. Each devta has one or multiple bahans or animals and carriers associated with them. That pretty much makes every animal in India sacred.

Good content
Umm...
Shiva is not the Father of hanuman
Lord Shiva reincarnated as Lord Hanuman to be of help to Rama in the Ramayana.
Hanuman is of a race of human like Monkey devine beings that is common in Hindu, Buddist and Taoist scripture
In India people have deep relationship with nature and wildlife
It still surprises me that ours is one of few cultures which doesn't consider ANY animal unlucky or hateful or fearful including predators
This is not only one place in INDIA where human and animal shared one roof, there are many other like Karnimata temple,Sri Ananthapadmanabha Swamy Lake Temple etc
I love Langur monkeys. they're pretty chill compared to other species.
They're amazing!
They can be very aggressive... them attacking humans are pretty normal actually.
@@lennarthagen3638 compared to macaques, though?

Shiva is not the father of hanumaan
Actually Hanuman Ji was Avatar of Shiv ji.
Thats our india and I am from udaipur 😍😍
Good thing is that they won't go extinct. Nice adaptation.
as long as Indian temples don't go extinct

Siva is not the father of hanuman. Hanuman is an incarnation of siva as per hindu religion
Shiva wasn't Hanuman's father, Hanuman was his avatar. Also Hanuman is not a human with a monkey's head he is a monkey
awesome video as always peace ✌️
This video was soo great and its bgm was really good
Jai Bajrang Bali 🔥🔥🙏🙏
this video deserves more views
Macaque monkey is usually considered as Hanuman's monkeys . Grey langurs and other monkeys too r considered part of Hanuman's army
I wonder what the Indian leopard does to hack this migrational behaviour and earn his snack.
Ha, good one!
Love this channel ❤
That is so nice of you to say! Happy to have you here 🥰
@@terramater hope you make more videos related to Indian wildlife, only country with Tigers, lions, leopards, snow leopards, clouded leopard ❤

Welcome!
Great that you're here! 🤗
I just have a theory what if there was another human race along with humans which looked more like monkey cause it's not only hanuman ji but bali and other kings are also mentioned in ramayan.with time they merged into human by marrying humans.
It's just a theory
They did. Neanderthals in Europe and Denisovans in Australia. Your religious texts are make believe though.
It is possible.
@@nannite the ramayana mentions of vanara race who are monkey like people mainly living in forest tho communicating with humans and marrying them sometimes too
@@nannite you dont know shit. Its not make believe. Its much more sensible, logical and realistic than Jesus walking on water or Muhammad flying to heaven on an elephant

I'm an Indian but I'm tired that when there are documentaries in India they only focus on tigers deer cows and primates there is a lot of amphibian species and reptiles and birds in India but no one knows them i hope some one makes about a documentary about them to instead of just mammals
Hinduism is worshiped Nature as God.. animals and humans equal
Don't just make out a video if you cannot manage to research properly. Lord Shiva wasn't the father of Hanuman, but Kesari (Pawan) was. Instead, Hanuman was an incarnation of Lord Shiva.
Relax Bro
What? Please stick to original stories. Don't change stories to suit your propagandas.
@@philosoftfurkitusjunkyard2462 it's not some propaganda pawan is hunaman's father by birth according to ramayan but he shouldn't be soo rude about it.
@@meetcharubala he must be rude they r spreading fake story....if they don't know they should not say anything....I had seen only this channel till now sharing false contents of a religion
Bro langur monkey danger
Hanuman is one of the Avatars of Lord Shiva. not father. Lord Vayu(Wind) is the godfather of Lord Hanuman. The real father of Lord Hanuman is Kesari
Thankiu for not Calling it or naming it Monkey God instead of Shri Hanuman .
I am really grateful that you made a documentary on my country, India.

Lord Shiva is not the FATHER of hanuman. Hanuman is an incarnate of lord shiva.

So, the Indians love nature so much
That they worship their native species.
i wont consider your comment offending its just hindus love life and try their best not to hurt animals most of us are vegetarians and in this country no animals die for nothing

Awesome monkey!
Like this channel contents are amazing
it was you i like :)
I guess religion is good for something at times
Hanuman's father is vayu I am muslim even I know this
Lord Siva is not "considered as" the father of Hanuman. Check your facts before stating and correct that part of the video/audio.
Monke
Hey Terra Mater........I want to clear this that 'Lord Hanuman' popularly Known as monkey god...Is not Actually monkey ...But 'वानर' in hindi......Which is 'Forest Man' but in many places the god is wrongly portrayed as monkey....
But Obviously the video is amazing..

I want to see some leopards catching and eating these monkeys.
Monkeys are evolving just as humans evolved, maybe someday they're as smart as humans!

That's not how evolution works
But well , they are evolving just like every other animal and plant
