I loved that line delivery. Between that and Laios initially being jealous that Fallin got to become a monster, the comedic timing in this show is great.
Seems that whole scene of Shuro thinking Laios is an idiot is kind of missing the whole "Working with the Orcs" bit from the manga. I mean Shuro is the kind of guy who thinks that Orcs are nothing but savages. But then again a lot of humans think Orcs are savages as is common in fantasy writing such as Lord of the Rings, Dungeons and Dragons, World of Warcraft, Elder Scrolls, Legend of Dragoon, Tales of Berseria, Dragon Quest 11, Ni No Kuni 2, Dungeon of Nahaulbeuk, Final Fantasy 16 and 7 Rebirth and Dragon's Dogma.
Kudos to the Dub here, I personally find their version Funnier and more fitting ! (note that I dont understand Japanese and I feel that the subtitles aren't doing it justice)
This episode made me feel bad for Marcille. Everyone treating her like a time bomb that’s gonna explode and kill them all, even when they know she knows and can use ‘normal’ magic. And then there’s Shuro’s self-righteous sanctimonious attitude, not to mention whining about how people are not reacting the ‘normal’ way. And he thinks he has the right to just drag the one who saved the girl he loved to the elves knowing full well that it’d be more merciful to just kill her then and there, wanting her to suffer for something that wasn’t her fault. I get he’s angry, sleep deprived, hungry and not at all rational at the moment, but still this episode doesn’t paint him in a great light.
Yeah, Shuro really missed me off this episode. He doesn't know magic, yet he goes off on Marcelle as if he knows anything about it. He's upset at Laios for not being able to tell that he's upset without any communication. He came here to save Falin, but is upset at the people who saved her. He goes off on Laios for being socially inept, but he's the person who doesn't know how to ask out Falin like a normal person. He also abandoned the party when they were going back to save Falin. Interestingly, at the same time, I do somewhat get where he's coming from. If "Easterners" are anything like our world's equivalent, then he was probably raised to be very reserved and not outspoken. He probably himself struggles to express himself. So you put a man who can't express himself with a man who cannot read the room. Shuro and Laios just were a poor match.
Considering how “marcille’s magic turned falin into a murderous abomination” is technically true, I get why these guys are a bit hesitant to let her do more magic. Plus, you have to realize how ancient/black magic is treated in canon. Everyone sees it as extremely taboo and dangerous and seeing monster falin definitely didn’t help with that belief. And the elves are the foremost authority when it comes to ancient magic, so it makes sense why shuro wants to turn her in. And the main problem with the elves is that they follow their own schedule. They’ll interrogate you, then leave you in a cell for 20 years until they do a follow up. To them, it’s whatever, to us it’s 1/4 our life. I also don’t think the purpose was to paint him in a good light. My actual hot take is that he wasn’t painted in a bad light either. I’d be a bit pissy too if my love interest turned into a monster. This is simply what would most realistically happen considering everyone’s motivations, beliefs, etc. Hell, make the series in senshi’ pov, and you’d probably say how merciful he was, considering he let them go and even promised to smuggle them to the east if they ended up saving falin
Their world seems to regard black magic similarly to how we regard nukes and other WMDs. Imagine you find your coworker's been trafficking enriched uranium. Shuro's burst of anger is understandable.
I knew it so much Stellar Blade content we almost forgot today is the day a new episode of Delicious in Dungeon comes out today and man I do definitely regret bad mouthing Marcelle and her voice actress Emily Rudd in the early half of the show but I still do stand on Emily Rudds voice being annoying at Times but luckily in theses new episodes her voice is becoming less annoying
Damn, how Chilchuck's hair aren't grey yet? 😅 Senshi cares about youngsters' healthy eat habbits, but Chilchuck genuinely behaves like their father 😂 (I know that originally Chilchuck had little amount of grey hairs, but mangaka decided to repaint his hair so he wouldn't look old enough compared to other team members)
That 'WOAH HEY' line delivery was on point
Agreed
The “Whoa hey!” is even better in the dub 😆
"...maybe I can just kill him? Kill..."
For such a heavy episode otherwise, Dub!Kabru won me over with that one line there :D.
I love that line.
Chilchucks reactions are just personally favorite. He is a middle aged man trying to make everyone behave, is like losing hair over stupid things 😂
He is literally, in a sense, the only grownup/adult in the metaphorical room 😅😂
lil fact: ryoko kui (mangaka) wanted to draw him w/ white hair in the first few chapters, but it was hard
He’s better off as is, the brunette hair adds to the mistaken belief that he’s a young person.
The job of a Group Dad is never finished 😅
Favorite lines were "Woah, Hey!" And "Maybe i should kill him? Kiiiillll"
Marcille came to understand the dark magic was a bit of an oopsie.
マルシルが軽く落ち込んでる姿もホント庇護欲そそられるんだけど、笑顔がやっぱ一番だわ

Sad, but not surprising, after hearing Shuro speak about how black magic users are punished. (It's like... damn!)
Nice thumbnail of funny Marcille faces, eve if she isn't featured much in this episode due to the whole monster Falin attack

Localizing food names has always been pretty contentious. Generally, they keep the names of dishes the same unless there is an identical food.
