  • It was the race he had been building towards all year and the satisfaction of delivering a 13-second win margin against one of the toughest fields of the season was written across Alex Yee’s face at the finish as he took gold at the Olympic Games Test Event Paris. Behind, it was Vasco Vilaca wedged in a three-way French battle for a precious podium to help their Paris 2024 selection causes, the Portuguese star eventually edging a dramatic sprint finish over Dorian Coninx. At 1:49 Alex just floats away, form is flawless. (looks effortless) Nobody can keep up in this run leg. Hate to see Hayden Wilde go down, heal up and be ready for Paris 2024!

The most impressive thing is KB placing top 10 & using it as a workout for Singapore PTO where he went on to win in brutal conditions 😯

For those criticizing the drafting I feel you but I think drafting isn't the full issue.
The coverage just does a poor job of A) covering the attacks counter attacks, strategic positioning and break away attempts B) does not highlight the specific advantages/disadvantages pack riding gives certain athletes.
It would be more entertaining if they framed it as "Lee wants to keep the pack together so he can attack the run, where as Kristin wants to break away on the bike to give a buffer" just as an example.
You can tell there was a dynamic going on if a 5 person break away turned into a 50 person peloton. Some "team" had to of work together to counter attack the break aways that were attempted.
Would be REALLY NICE to be able to watch the full thing and not just a 3:00 min video with barely any context.

Each race is different but it takes time and effort to catch up and sometimes you miss the main group.
To much effort on the bike and your legs get tired for the run.

A great example of why I really don't like this distance/style of triathlon. 50 people ride in a pack for 40km and then a running sprint to the end. So boring.

It all depends on the course. No steep climbs, fast corners or even rough cobbles to break up the race. It also depends where the best bikers are. When Jess Learmonth and Flora Duffy were in the women's race, the fields were always in pieces. Alistair Brownlee was the same.

Aucun intérêt en effet d'autoriser l'aspiration dans l'épreuve cycliste. Autant réduire l'épreuve à un duathlon.
