    The technology of today is quite amazing. But what is truly incredible is that over 12,000 years ago there was a more advanced civilization that could make massive megalithic stone structures. When the disasters hit the survivors went underground and developed inner earth civilizations. Humanity had to start over and unfortunately we no longer had the knowledge of building those megalithic stone structures even today. So I can see how Elon is focused on a similar scenario. I don't focus on the fear of nuclear destruction of Earth, because I believe that their are E.T.'s that can stop that from happening.

    I'm just making a guess but 99% of the cargo that Starship is going to launch will be fuel and oxidizer to the fuel farm.
    The fuel farm is going to be a beast in its own right. It might make sense to use an inflatable bladder tech instead of a specialty starships. Where do you locate it? Starships have to be able to reach it with some residual fuel if they're ever going to stockpile. Then there's the issue of having LARGE amounts of combustibles on orbit. Its going to need shielding from debris and possibly the Sun and power might be helpful to curb boil-off and over-pressurization of the containment vessel.
    The things a POM geek thinks of.

    • @lawrencefrost9063
      @lawrencefrost9063 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      There is. Want me to walk through it? One option which I believe Space X is pursuing is to fly a Starship to orbit, then fly another three ships to refuel the ship. With a fully fueled Starship you can use that fuel to speed up the process to Mars. It takes just a few months like this. Two to three months.
      Secondly, even if you take your time, the probability of being irradiated to the extent that you get cancer is actually very low. The best way to think about the radiation problem is to compare it to smoking. You will increase your chance of cancer by a similar amount. People willingly pick up smoking, willingly increase their chance to die due to cancer. They are taking a similar risk due to space travel Mars. It's not a big deal.

Well he wants to develop starship now to fly to Mars, and put a base on Mars, well I think it might be a temporary base it's awful hard to land those big massive rockets on a planet like Mars.

    Love Elon and his good motivation.. but, it would be good if he took a little time out to investigate the existence of other beings aka aliens but more importantly, how human consciousness actually exists. He clearly hasn't looked at whether it can exist beyond the biological body.. how it abides.. Yet his assumptions about how (human) consciousness exists affects so much of what he does and he's missing more than a trick there.. Wish he'd get a good Buddhist teacher. Mingyur Rinpoche could be perfect.. 🙏

    I wonder how he intends to stop anyone leaving our local orbit for being irradiated or how he intends to stop muscle wastage from extended time in low or zero gravity. Or how he is going to stop people's basic mental responses to all the ridicules stresses they will be expected to cope with. HEY ELON, why don't you put your vast resources into fixing this planet. Surely a whole lot easier to reverse any damage here than,...what was it, nuking the poles of Mars? You need to lay off the cartoons.
