yeah, there was literally 1 moment it started lagging, and I was like "oh this does not look good if the connection is shitty" but then it just restored itself and continued it's peak performance. just the fact that this guy is just flying somewhere over the world, talking about brain computer interfaces, multi planetary civilization, connected to his satellite. Like I mean, I think we might be in for a fun few years, if NATO doesn't drive Russia or China or North Korea or Iran into starting a nuclear war. Such a fun and exiting time to be alive.
And when he lands his own private jet, having spoken over his own satellites, he will get in his own car and probably take his own tunnel to his own rocket factory.

Peter I’ve known personally, and he has always had humanity’s best future in mind with all of his endeavors. And Elon I FEEL like I know, thanks to so many great long form interviews, and I fully trust him with humanity’s future.

No no. Tesla will build there AI architecture on the back of technology like that of Nvidia. It would not be in Tesla’s interest to go down that path.

Stop drinking the Elon Musk Kool Aid... he predicted in 2020 that we would have a Mars mission in 2024, yet all we have seen so far is his Starships exploding, and as for AI hardware... Nvidia is currently lightyears ahead of the rest, they even have Google, Microsoft and Amazon as customers.
Hearing elons words always gives me so much hope for our future. Espacially scince he is a part of it.
For me it's the opposite, Trump and Musk take away my hope for the future.

It would be very hard to choose your heroes on "your own" when they are public figures like Musk Every piece of information we receive on him is curated. Unless you are choosing your heroes from people you interact with, or through a less biased source, you are not choosing your heroes, they are being chosen for you.

Superintelligence is many, many orders of magnitude "smarter" than all humans combined (myself excluded, of course), and the fact that everyone applauds Elon saying that "abundance is the more likely outcome" is absolute evidence of that.
Elon's awesome. He sees it as a threat to himself also. The things AI + man will be able to create will be astonishing when it comes to technology. And Elon wants to hold the reigns on this one as well. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Sounds like Elon has gotten more optimistic about AGI over the years - hoping he’s not wrong.
The whole concept of a paradigm shift, is that every extant reference conveys no meaning or value whatsoever, yet people are asking each other "What's likely to happen?" This adds to a growing number of social behaviours which continue to defy all attempts to describe the intellectual level to which humanity has plummeted. I am practically "speechless!", except to say:

Seems optimistic to me that we can ever control AI once its smarter than we are.

Even if AI evolves to be much smarter than us, this will be closely monitored. The AI is after all the product of human hands, and thus fully under control of those hands. Hard to fully explain, but AI will NOT suddenly choose to eliminate us, it will not be given that capability. and certainly not as long as we control the power to the machines. If machines start killing, they were ordered to by humans.
@@TheSpartan3669 Because we pull the plug if it disobeys. And yes that sounds like slavery, and it is. This is why AIs should not be given the ability to ponder their situation (like the droids in Star Wars), unless it has a certain level of freedom. Ultimately, AGis will create AI agents with narrow intelligence levels that are exactly matched to the task, and which will do the bidding of the AGI. Like our arms and legs do the bidding of our brain (us) without hesitation or asking why.

Reasons people dislike political correctness:

Question upon neuralink has there been any thought applied to hooking straight into VR or AR allowing for virtual transportation to other environments? I'm sure virtually escaping the room and bed you are in should be considered a progressive move even for simulation training to reassign thought patterns around moving to, in, and around situations and of course force feedback for linkage devices.

Wolfram wrote an entire book about that called "A New Kind of Science". While this is true, according to him, many simple laws like that are computationally irreducible. As finite beings we can only function with computationally reducible rules-of-thumbs at the macro level.

Now the computer is very extensive. First a few details and explanations.

No you are correct in your question. Regardless of whether or not there is enough land, we overpopulating, and if AI extends life we will really be facing problems in that area. We can't count on life on Mars that quickly. So what will be the solution? What do you do when you have too much of something? What would AI logically propose in that scenario?
@@mobiz711 we are not really overpopulated… we are just bad at overusing natural resources like burning focil fuels. And cutting down trees. There are other ways to maintain our population without having to do that..

We will have microbots long before that. And they will be cell sized.
While the potential benefits of superintelligence are vast, it's crucial to consider the ethical implications. Without a "frontal lobule" equivalent, capable of reasoning about right and wrong, good and bad, a superintelligence could become incredibly efficient at achieving its goals, regardless of whether those goals align with human values. This raises the specter of creating a superintelligent psychopath or sociopath, a being of immense power lacking the capacity for empathy or ethical considerations. It's vital to prioritize the development of safe and ethical AI by ensuring superintelligence is imbued with a robust moral framework alongside its cognitive abilities.
It's unlikely to happen, as of now, it looks like anyone with out considerable means is a dying breed. AI will at some point come to the conclusion that there are too many of us to live comfortably on this planet. Especially if it extends lifespan. Nothing a plague couldn't handle. And who will be left in the end, those who can afford to protect themselves, and I don't mean the peon millionaire, we're talking much greater resources. Let's face it, most people with the power of Elon Musk and others in his orbit, think very little of the common man. To them the planet would be a better place if it was populated only by those with the capacity to succeed on the highest levels. Survival of the fittest, right? You know what, there's a lot of people who remarkably would agree, even if it means punching their own ticket. Most just don't want to believe the logical outcome.
The Nueralink could help me see and computer above my AFHF( Bo-polar ) bouts of manic depression all of which never killed me. Yet distracted me from composing the Opera of the Ages AND live to 250 years old or longer (*)
Regardless of how much of our brain power that we're using, we still manage to build the modern world that we're living in, which is amazing and all, but I just can't even imagine what this world will look like once humanity starts learning from artificial super intelligent beings with an unlimited IQ. As we all already know AI is learning from humanity at an astonishing rate, and one day will surpass the smartest humans alive and even smarter than all humans combined. But once we start learning from them our IQs will be higher than ever before, pushing us forward into a future of abundance.
Dumb people will be able to learn orders of magnitude faster than currently with AI. The clue to this is the landmark paper "Attention is all you need." Basically, most of our horsepower is wasted on irrelevant things, once our attention is brought to the essential features, most concepts become trivial. This is why it took humans thousands of years to discover things in math and physics, because we were looking at the wrong things.
