If your 8th genHonda Civic's AC clutch is not engaging when you press the AC button, but the front condenser fans are spinning, there could be several possible reasons for this issue. Here are some common causes:
      Low Refrigerant Levels:
Low refrigerant levels can prevent the AC clutch from engaging. The system has a safety feature that prevents the compressor from running when refrigerant levels are too low to avoid damage.
      Faulty AC Clutch:
The AC clutch itself may be faulty and needs to be replaced. Over time, the clutch can wear out or become damaged.
      Faulty AC Compressor:
If the AC compressor is not working correctly, it may not engage the clutch. This could be due to a mechanical issue or an electrical problem with the compressor.
      Electrical Issues:
There may be an electrical issue in the circuit that controls the AC clutch. This could be a faulty relay, fuse, or a problem with the wiring.
      Pressure Switch Problems:
The AC system has pressure switches that monitor the refrigerant pressure. If these switches detect abnormal pressure levels, they may prevent the AC clutch from engaging.
      Faulty AC Relay:
The AC relay is responsible for sending power to the AC compressor clutch. If the relay is faulty, it may not be providing the necessary power to engage the clutch.
      Blown Fuse:
Check the fuse related to the AC system. If the fuse is blown, it may be disrupting the power supply to the AC components.
Here are some steps you can take to diagnose and potentially fix the issue:
Check the refrigerant levels in the AC system. If they are low, you may need to recharge the system.
Inspect the AC clutch for signs of damage or wear.
Test the AC relay and replace it if necessary.
Check the fuses related to the AC system and replace any that are blown.
If you're not comfortable diagnosing and fixing the issue yourself, it's recommended to take your vehicle to a qualified mechanic or an automotive AC specialist for a thorough inspection and repair.
Keep in mind that diagnosing and repairing AC issues can be complex, and it may require specialized tools and knowledge. If you're not experienced in automotive repairs, seeking professional assistance is advisable.

@@TheSterg98 thank you for the info. I've checked the relay and fuse. I am thinking to bypass the prusser switch next and the bypass relay.

@@NWCI it may be a situation of leaked or depleted coolant pressure. If the pressure is not in range the system will disable it.

check the gap in the AC clutch plate, just fixed this on my 06 honda fit, the gap was too big from wear so took the front plate off and removed one of the shims in there to bring the plate closer and put it back and it works. before doing all this you can test to see if the clutch hasnt failed by getting a long broom handle or something and pushing the clutch plate into the compressor while its running and AC button is on, be very careful as it will start spinning and can push to fling the broom handle.

See you didn't really do your proper diagnosis. There's a sequence depressed to find out if your AC controls are working correctly or not. You did what people at the dealership don't do it's just throw parts at something and it ended up working out for you.
