Hmm that's hard without a picture of the problem. Was it a custom model that you used mixamo to auto rig? Sometimes if the fingers aren't spread far enough apart they can have issues that I've read about.
Holy moly, this is a night and day difference from boneworks avatar creation. Feels very similar to VRC That being said, at the time of writing, I have yet to actually play bonelabs Good tutorial
I actually never made avatars for Boneworks. After you mention that, it makes me curious about the process now. I did enjoy Boneworks more than Bonelab, but I hope in the near future we get better SDK development and patches for some of the physics jank.
Hey, great tutorial! Unfortunately my model is REALLY tall in game and I have no idea how to fix it.. I tried changing the scale in unity of the prefab and building it again but no dice. Any ideas?
I would try selecting the pallet, removing the current avatar crate, creating a new avatar crate like the old one, link it to your changed avatar prefab, and regenerate packed asset. If that doesn't work it might be an issue where you need to scale the asset before making a prefab of it. Packing might be ignoring prefab scale. If either of these works, let me know.
@@johnnytriesvr7433 I tried basically everything I could within unity and nothing was helping.. but I did find a fix!! Changing the scale of the model within blender and then importing it back into unity fixed the problem for me :)

Great tutorial - thank you! I do have a question on the final step - I don't see the Bonelab directory under c:\users\(name)\AppData\LocalLow. Can you tell me what I'm missing?
There's a step in the video where you switch the animation type from "generic" to "humanoid" and then apply the setting. That should give you an animator component. Did you do that step?
I can't say for sure what causes that. but I've seen it and had it happen once to me. When you created the prefab was the model set at 0,0,0 world position and not rotated at all?
ive been following the tutorial. Only Problem is when i import the maximo avatar to unity, its just a box and doesnt show anything. it doesnt seem to be a 3d model either. any help would be great
how would I be able to add breast physics? can you explain to me please? I am having trouble understanding, do I need more rig bones in the body or does unity set it up when aligning the player frame box?.
Thanks for the tutorial. It helped a lot. I wonder if it is possible to modify already existing mods? Also do you know how to edit the ingame avatar stats (weight, strength etc.)? edit: after some digging it seems like the ingame stats are based on avatar size and bone structure. So if you want a light avatar just make it smaller.
At the moment, I don't know how to modify any avatar stats manually. I've been looking for a way to do this as well. It doesn't seem to be anything pre-calculated when packed and stored anywhere that I've looked yet. The assets are in "bundles" and I haven't broken any of them open yet. It does look like there are tools for exploring bundles so that may be the next step. More than likely they're just looking at the size of the colliders and calculating it in game so we can't change it ahead of time. I'm sure there will be a workaround at some point.
BONELAB looks at the file you are trying to put into the game, looks at its arm size, leg size, and makes its own type of stats for the character. yea@@johnnytriesvr7433

There are definitely more steps when it's an XPS. You'll still end up converting it to FBX in Blender or elsewhere like the VRChat tutorials do. You'll need to make sure you apply the right bones in the settings panel because the Avatar script might not autodetect your bones.
@@PapaHola It comes down to how it's rigged. It needs the minimum bones to be compatible with the Unity mechanim system.
