Don't forget to put the magnussen super charger on. I have a 24 TRD off road premium, as soon as it's paid for, it will start getting some nice mods!! Love these vehicles, plan to keep mine as long as I can drive.
Just got a 2023 Toyota 4Runner TRD Off Road Premium in CT also. Upgraded with the TRD wheels, Yakima MegaWarrior roof rack, and the blackout kit. It's a TRD Pro without the TRD price.
Get the Start-X kit. Easy to install and uses the factory remote fob. Press lock button 3 times and it starts your engine. Only works if you have a push to start button on the dash.
My 2023 4runner remote starts no problem. You need to push the lock button 3x at the SAME intervals and it will start. If you are too fast or too slow between the 3x when pressing then I will just flash and not start. The timing of the press is the key. I find that 3x in 1 second intervals works perfect almost every time. It is quirky at the start....but once you get the hang of it...its no problem. Also the app to connect to your car is free and you can start you 4runner from your phone if out of range for the remote and also monitor windows open or closed, tire pressure etc.
@@varsityoverland ah Crap....that sucks. Your dealership should be chasing that down and install it for you. Mine came with no center caps for the wheels and no running boards do to supply. They came in a month later. I would be an incredibly squeaky wheel if I were you.
@@varsityoverland Then thats awesome 👌. I wish you well with all your mods and look forward to following along. The one we just got was for my wife.....we like it so much, I might take in my lifted and moded Yukon XL for a 2023 TRD off road for myself....lol Now that transporting the kids and need for luggage space is no longer a concern. The 4runner feels like a roller skate by comparison...much nicer in parking lots, logging roads, sinks less in the mud and is WAY more off road capable....lol
Great Video! Thank you for posting... I just ordered my 2023 TRD Premium and I'm super excited. I've been wanting this vehicle for a long time and now that I don't have 3 littles to tote around, I can finally make it happen! My husband and I love camping and now we are hoping to get into more overlanding type of trips. Excited to see everything you do with your 4Runner - I need the idea's lol All the best to you and your family!
I just bought the same one in black and would like to switch out the tires and wheels with the TRD wheels and BFG K02’s. I am totally new to having a vehicle that’s worth customizing, so I don’t even know what to do first! Do you recommend doing one or the other first? (Eg. tires then wheels?) Thanks and congrats!
Great content. If I could change ONE thing about the 4Runner it would be to give it a larger gas tank. 24 gallons just doesn't cut it in my opinion. I waited until Toyota offered a 38 gallon tank in the Tundra (26 is standard) before I bought one. SO glad I have the larger tank. I can easily drive 600 miles highway on a tank when I'm not towing. When towing, getting 9 mpg, I can still go 300+ miles on a tank. Anyway, I still love the 4Runner. Great choice for an overlander.
I agree that the Dueler Tires don’t look the part, but zi e done seriously technical trails and rocks on those tires and they work fine. Just not going to be great in mud. Just because a tire doesn’t look aggressive, doesn’t mean it’s not capable
I hate my Dueler tires. I live on a gravel road and they load with gravel and kick gravel up against the side of the truck for miles and miles when you get on the pavement 😢
I had a 2022 TRD OR-P w/KDSS in Lunar Rock. I got a MESO customs fob and steering wheel “T” in Lunar Rock. My biggest regret is selling it. But I got $5k more selling it than what I bought it for. The Dunlops are standard for the TRD OR. Sell the wheels as lots of people want them, unless the dealer gives you credit for the stock ones
You are absolutely correct on the remote start. I have a 2022 TRD ORP and the dealership advertised it with remote start. When I picked it up, the salesman tried to demonstrate how to start it remotely and the lights went through the blinking and nothing. I took delivery anyway and planned to bring it back to get that sorted out. When I got home I played with it some more and then got on-line and did some digging. Then called Toyota Motors and gave them my VIN and they confirmed no remote start on my VIN. They also said if it had remote it would clearly indicate on the window sticker, which it did not. The dealer was incorrect in the internet advertisement.
I notice you don't have a sunroof, did you order that model? I have a 2020 TRD ORP with no sunroof. From what I've read it's a unicorn to get an TRD ORP with no sunroof. Don't know if that's true or not.
I ordered KDSS for my 2023 Off Road, waited 5 months, and was told when my vehicle was delivered without it that Toyota "just wasn't making them with KDSS anymore" [insert rolling eyes emoji here].
Great video. Are there any side steps that can be added to existing OEM rock sliders on a '23 TRD Pro Prem? I really want & need a step but I'm not looking forward to replacing the entire rail if I can help it. Thx.
Not that Im aware of but Im no expert. One option could be to find a fabrication shop that can wip up a step for you and weld or bolt it to the existing rail🤷♂️
Great truck. Look forward to seeing the mods Ps. Don’t go with Prinsu. I have one on mine. It’s been HORRIFIC with corrosion and the powder coat finish completely failing after 6 months.
Greenlane Offroad out of Canada has killer all aluminum racks, bumpers, sliders etc. Not cheap, but the stuff holds up extremely well and doesn't rust.
I’d say take it to Toyota if not, or trouble shoot, should have 1 next week or so, I’ll try myself I guess. Your vehicle is low on fuel. The hood on your 4Runner is not fully closed. One or more of the vehicle doors are open, make sure they are securely closed. The transmission is not in park mode (P). The 12v battery voltage has gone too low. The service engine light is turned on in the instrument cluster. Your Toyota 4Runner may not have the remote start feature. Get your vehicle checked by an authorized dealer to confirm if it is equipped with a remote start system.
Owning both a Limited and OR Premium, Toyota should not hold back the remote start and the “auto” climate control from OR Premium owners. Also, I believe the front facing camera is an option of the OR Premium if you look at your build sheet and only is active when in 4 wheel drive. And as for the factory remote start is near useless because the truck turns off when you unlock the truck with the remote or open the door and you are forced to immediately manually start it again. So frustrating
Main Line Overland has nice front bumper that takes a winch and has a spot for a light bar. I think it had places for recovery. They recently did a video about their bumper. The closest shop is up in Manchester New Hampshire. Tax free.
Any thoughts about frame mounted front and REAR recovery ( NOT tie down ) points that do not involve the rear towing hitch receiver? Also, any thoughts about using Falken Wildpeaks instead of the Duratrac tires? Good video with great content.
Just pull off the valances, do a light sanding, and spray painted a flat black or the plaster dip. That way you can do it really cheap, it can probably takes longer for the paint to dry than anything else, as well as any sort of complications.
I was disappointed in the deletion of the alarm. Took delivery today and the missing stickers left a void. UPDATE: The entry alarm is still active, JUST NO STICKER!
