I'm only a new owner of a 2004 Subaru forester and your telling me some monster of a previous owner was closing the door with the glass and not the door Thank you so much! Going to do this right now!
Dude thank you! I just bought an 03 Subaru Legacy L that only has 80k on it and has been kept in a garage all its life. Really is a lovely commuter but it had been a bit loud. I just figured it was a bit of a quirk of the vehicle and I always listen to music/podcasts anyways. TH-cam recommended it to me and wow what an awesome video. Definitely going to replace it. I gotta say though, the frameless windows is a nice touch on these cars. It's very subtle, but looks pretty cool.
Thanks for the tip. My GR Yaris developed this problem after I tried to open the door when the glass had frozen to the rubber seal, which didn’t move, so the gusset got deformed. The Toyota dealer pretended he couldn’t hear the word noise… I’ll give this a try, thanks.
Thank you for this, earned a subscribe. I have seen other methods and it never really worked for me. This was everything I was missing. Luckily I already had the clamp. Took less than 5 mins. I can handle doing this from time to time. What an improvement!!!! It's bugged me for YEARS!
@@sclhzrd IDK, just do some searching. People shoving weather striping stuff in there (tried that, failed miserably) some others describing this but not taking the right things off.
Thanks for the video, I replaced the driver's side window guide on my 2004 Forester for about GBP80 a couple of years ago, but will do the passenger's side like this and save some money. 👍
What i did for my 2003 Baja, I purchased a felt weatherstrip from Home Depot and jammed it in the plastic and when I roll my window up, it fits snug and got rid of the wind noise altogether.
Have you ever owned a 2005 Forester without the turbo? I have one and feel like I don't get enough gas mileage. From full to empty (empty on gauge, not tank) I get 300 miles consistently.
fairly notorious for usin juice... tyre pressures, roof racks, weight, driving style, driving terrain, all lessens the mileage. i too are not super stoked with a non turb 03 Forester.... its not crazy bad, but its not great.
I have a 2003 NA forester XS. Anyone wanna help point me in the right direction for UEL headers, exhaust, Dual deck stereo with apple play and some other mods that would be helpful? Learning as I go with this this.
@@highspeed_hula1938 just replaced my 03 forester with skar audio evl 6.5 in the front and 5.25 in the back. Got a sony 6.8 inch apple play stereo from best buy. Going to the junk yard to try to find the og tweeters. Throwing a single 8 inch sub in the back.
i YELL at people that close my door but the window, drives me fucking nuts bc mine are very worn out and i don’t wanna do this more than i have to already😂
Just a little note, I would add some masking tape to the clamp so as not to scuff the plastic on the outside of the car

Thank you! I thought I was going to have the tear the door apart to adjust the window. This saved me that hassle.

And here I was thinking it was the plastic shield between the panel and door itself. Going to give this a try, thanks for the great idea!
Man, why I can pick out central NC so well in a video.

I did the same thing the other day but used channel locks.
I appreciate the humor as much as the informative video. Thank you 👍🏽

Normal. Boxer engines don’t get the best MPG. But neither does the in-line four in my rav4. Could easily get that mpg with a 6cyl and make more power.
