NAIL THE MIX is an online mixing school created by Joey Sturgis, Joel Wanasek and Eyal Levi - the guys who produced bands like TDWP, Chelsea Grin, Blessthefall, Machine Head, Monuments, Miss May I, Of Mice & Men, Reflections, Born Of Osiris, Asking Alexandria and dozens more of this generation's best metal bands.
Every month, NAIL THE MIX members get exclusive access to the REAL MULTI-TRACK SESSIONS from a REAL ALBUM, and a 6-8 hour live streaming class from the producer who mixed it. These are the actual sessions by bands like Gojira, Meshuggah, Periphery, Papa Roach, Machine Head, Bring Me The Horizon, A Day To Remember and more - and NTM is the only place in the world you'll get access to them!
These two men ♥️
9:19 - 9:22 is the personification of what Death Metal does to a person.
Cool tune. Sounds like YES, with an overdrive pedal in front 😅
Nailed it lol

9:19 When your reference is so good you've got to headbang 🤣

I have so much to learn lol
Well if you have less than 10yrs so far....keep at it. If you've got less than that.....Good Luck!

What is the name of that “A/B” plugin for reference?
It's from Plugin Alliance. I think it's called the Metric Audio AB
Gullfoss is sick
He mentioned the G Buss compressor, I assume that's a hardware unit? Anyone know how much gain reduction he's getting there?
Enslaved!
Beards looking girthy, Nick
How many copyright strikes is this video going to have? LOL
Even if the video is called mix bus processing, this is basically a mastering chain isn't it?
was getting that impression as well when he started doing all those eq moves and then slammed it with a limmeter too
Yeah, the line between the two is kinda blurry. For me personally, I do all of that processing very close to the end of my mixes because I do think of them as mastering, even though I like to send out my mixes to be mastered by others. Some of that "mastering" that I do on the mix bus then stays on and it just becomes part of the mix before I send it off for the actual master.
What I'm trying to say is: It's a bit of a philosophical question and how you think of it. Is it something you do to finalize the mix or is it already meant to be the actual master? Both is valid, depending on the situation.
