I managed to get my father to play genshin impact and we have some fun playing, my dad is pretty new to the game and just got done monstadt and is heading to liyue, so I watch him do some pulling and he decides to pull on shenhe’s banner, he pulled around 10 times split between primogems and stardust, he gets Shenhe on like the 4th pull, chongyun on around the 6th and Mona around the eight or ninth. Yunjin is a support for normal attack units, and she's not really ment for mono geo because her buff is better with characters of different elements

I’ve commented on the bgm before, but I’m going to mention it again. You always know the best songs to put in the background! I love Ori and the blind forest so it was a nice surprise hearing up the spirit caverns walls.

A couple quick notes on shenhe build/playstyle in case you want to use her.
1. Her e gives 5/7 quills to each character rather than 5/7 spread out among the whole party
2. Quills proc on each instance of cryo damage on any unit, meaning that if you hit 3 units with ganyu charged attack she consumes 3 quills
3. Unlike a lot of other abilities, her quill damage doesn't snapshot on cast, meaning that if you increase her attack after casting her e the damage increase will still apply
4. With the way her quill damage is calculated in the damage formula, crit stats and cryo damage % is basically useless because she just borrows those stats from whoever is applying the cryo damage and never uses her own.

Ended on C3 Shenhe, C6 Yun Jin, and C1 Calamity. And they are making a huge difference already (pre-farmed). Shenhe took my Ayaka to the moon, and compliments my Ganyu well too. And Yun Jin is just great everywhere.

Yunjin is a universal support for any character that does normal attacks but honestly it isnt a lot. It would be better to bring the usual supports (Anemo and Bennett).
Maybe for ppl who are trying to use bennett less lol or already have sucrose/kazuha/venti in another team^^

Think Im a dolphin? I do welkin and BP and bought all the boosted top ups, then bought them again when they reset after anniversary. Dont think theyre worth it without the boost. Without double boost, $100 isnt even enough to reach Soft pity for 1!! 5* and thats absurd.

I've been using her with Ayaka at the moment and she works pretty well. I sometimes have difficulty with properly positioning Ayaka's ult, and I'll be pulling for Ganyu in the next banner so I'll likely switch as I think Shenhe+Ganyu will be easier to play. That's just personal preference, though.

Even if she doesn't have a place in any team that I can think right now, I do have to say I'm tempted by her personality and story quest alone(I mean, it's heartwarming and also I find the edge funny if being honest).
Shenhe haver with Eula and Ayaka here. She works wonders in a freeze team with Ayaka, adding tons of damage and having the flexibility to buff her burst or charged attacks more, but you do have to be mindful of keeping the icy quills up at the right times. For Eula, they do work together but not as well as Eula's established teammates like Rosaria, Fischl, or Raiden. Eula can only get icy quills on her cryo hits which doesn't help much, and Shenhe's physical resistance shred doesn't add much on top of Eula's own along with superconduct, and if anything a c6 Rosaria synergizes better with Eula due to giving a higher resistance shred and crit rate and having better energy generation to help battery Eula's expensive burst. As for Ganyu, while I don't have her, I've seen her hit even harder than she already did with Shenhe's support in both a reverse melt team with Bennett+Kazuha and freeze teams, although freeze burns through icy quills rather quickly due to Ganyu's burst so you have to be mindful of that just like with Ayaka.

shenhe's elemental skill basically makes it so that the damage ratio of any cryo ability becomes X% of the stat the talent uses + X'% of shenhe's atk, this can actually be really powerful because this damage addition is applied BEFORE any other damage multiplier such as crits or elemental dmg bonus, however AOE attacks that hit multiple oponents will consume multiple stacks, and she gives very few per use of her skill (using it again before it expires does not add to the remaining amount of stacks)
the damage bonus cannot be applied to transformative elemental reactions, but it does apply to anemo skills that have an elemental absorbtion effect (making her work really well with kazuha, as she will increase his own cryo damage while he will buff hers and the other party member's on top of decreasing enemy resistance)
oh and when using her skill, it grants a set amount of stacks to each party member, not to the whole team (so you actually get 5/7 stacks per rotation for every character in your team that can do cryo damage without transformative reactions)
I can give you some tips, if you want to buff Ganyu’s shots or Ayaka’s attacks, hold it, the buff triggers on each hit, so Ayaka can use it faster than Ganyu, also they each have their own trigger quotas, so Ayaka can use hers then you can switch to Ganyu and buff her as well
Eula probably only benefits from her burst or when you tap the skill
Also supposedly since you just need to deal Cryo dmg, Chongyun should help enable others to deal it on their normal attacks like Ayaka does
My only “Cryo” dps is Eula, but I like using Shenhe with her. Even if Eula is build purely for phys dmg she did really good Cryo dmg but with Shenhe it’s obviously higher. And my friends that I often play with are using Ganyu/Ayaka so I can support them even better now 🥰

I main eula. I don't rly see any noticable dmg for eulas normal atk with shenhe buff. But at least eulas e skill could went up from 4k to 9k.

as of now what most people are saying is to max as much atk percentage as possible, even as far as going 2 piece glad, 2 piece shimme with triple attack artifacts instead of cryo dmg and crit

Shenhe is definitely good on either Ayala or ganyu but not Eula. Eula mainly does physical DMg. Keep up the vids👍

In theory Both Ganyu and Ayaka are better choices than Eula for her buffs. Although in some cases the PHYS boost from Shenhe burst would be better for Eula, but the CRYO buff seems more important to Shenhe's kit (and her skill).
Since Shenhe's icy quill buff is depleted in stacks (your characters gain either 5 or 7 icy quill stacks depending on whether you press or hold the ability) I feel like you'd want someone with fast paced cryo attacks like Ayaka as her main dps counterpart. Ganyu can absolutely work but I feel like Ganyu might not be able to trigger all stacks before they expire with charge attacks alone in a scenario where she's only fighting one enemy. Additionally Shenhe's C6 makes it so Normal and Charge attacks can trigger the icy quill stacks without consuming them meaning if you don't use your burst you can actually trigger this effect with every attack as long as you don't have your elemental skill or burst use up all stacks.

For anyone thats curious the chinese pinyin for shenhe is shēn hè so first tone fourth tone. I am prett sure abt this but i might be wrong cuz i never pay attention to pinyin, I usually just read the character.

No lie, before I started learning about pity and stuff... I got Diluc and got excited, and then I proceeded to also get Raiden Shogun within 10 or so pulls!
I didn't realize how lucky I was because I just assumed 50/50 meant you would still win the banner character right after getting the regular 5*
I have Ayaka and saved enough for Ganyu, and then Shenhe is the best support for them, but in the middle of my jorney a wild Diluc appeared and now i only have enough for Ganyu, so i'll save my guaranteed for her and cry that I don't have Shenhe yo boost them two ;--;

Heres a summary of what she can do:
Shenhe is mostly a cryo support, she gives cryo dmg bonus through, her passive talent makes it where her press can buff your party's skills and bursts and hold buffs normal attack, charged attack, and plunging attack (all of em by 15%, doesnt need to be cryo attacks). Her skill (separate from the passive talent) buffs cryo dmg by a percentage of her attack depending on talent level, pressing gives teammates 5 stacks and holding gives 7. Each stack buffs cryo dmg and if you hit multiple enemies multiple stacks will be consumed. Her burst decrease cryo and physical res by 15% at talent level 10.
Imo she's better with ganyu than ayaka since ayaka's burst hits multiple times and will run out of stacks immediately, while ganyu's charged attack doesnt need energy and you can go back and forth with shenhe buffing her and ganyu attacking. Not to mention ganyu's burst and shenhe's burst will probably deal a lot of damage together. The only reason you'd use ayaka is if you have C6 ayaka which buffs her charged attack by a lot, you can see an example of it in IWTL gaming's video. That's it pretty much
