I hope one day I'll follow that glideslope too but inside the cockpit as a pilot. Last year I flew there as a passenger with Uganda Airlines' UR342 and came back with KQ613 to HKJK and then later KQ418 to HUEN, I love aviation and now I'll follow you since you're creating content for local aviation
Most of the cockpit take offs and landings i have watched are in foreign airports but am glad that you are helping us experience the same for our local airports, can easily relate and at least i have a mind picture of what happens in the cockpit while am in the cabin taking off and landing at JKIA or even MIA.I am an aspiring plane spotter😅 and owner...what's your real name btw?captain?perhaps I can fly your shift one of these days
Hello Sir It's an icing check. When TAT is below 10 degrees celsius and SAT is above minus 40 degrees, we switch on the engine anti ice system. Thank you for your great question. Much appreciated.
Thank you for your great questions. On finals, personally, I never apply pressure on the rudders only up until around 30 ft for the de-crab crosswind landing technique. Thank you and much appreciated.
Hello, Thanks for your question. All KQ 737-800 aircrafts have a Collins setup. The 'retired' B737-700 had the Honeywell setup same on the 737-300. Much appreciated. Salute
Wow, you were the PF!....niiicceee......and here I was thinking that the Winglets are for beautifying the plane to make it look classy.....😂😂...forgive me if you've ever defined these but EGVOM na NEREV zina-stand for?......thanks for sharing and be blessed for also educating us on what you do.....
Yeah, I was the PF 😁 As for the words EGVOM, NEREV, MOMBA, ITMAR, etc... They are waypoints. A waypoint is an specific point or location on a map that is used for navigation and serves as a reference point Just like ukienda CBD, from side ya Mombasa road, you go through 'waypoint' Panari Hotel then Capital Centre then Nyayo stadium until ufike CBD. Thank you for your great question and for always tuning in. Asante sana 🙏🏾
Well done and thanks for these videos. Why did you change from FMC SPD to MCP with V/S -850 with only 1000 ft to descend? Assuming you were looking for FL190. Also you ended up back on VNAV PTH but you needed to be slower I see. Were you pulling the Speed Brake or was 'Drag Required' disappearing automatically?
The TCAS (Traffic Collusion Avoidance System) is normally quite sensitive and may be triggered if a high rate of descent towards the other intruder/aircraft is sensed ; resulting to an avoidance maneuver. Reducing the rate of descent, reduces the chances of a traffic avoidance maneuver. About the drag required, the speed eventually reduced due to a wind change. In addition, the flap configuration was started a little bit earlier to enable a continuous descent with thrust levers at idle for as long as possible hence a huge fuel saving for the company. Thank you for your great question. Bravo!!!
@@CallsignBookworm Trying to avoid an RA from TCAS I see. I just have an aversion to V/S. Also theoretically if you were at ToD, and on VNAV PTH, you could easily fly the CDA down to minimums I suppose. Thank you so much for the work you do here. Cheers!
Yezzzirhhh... You can downgrade and upgrade automation as need be. Also, I agree that one can fly LNAV/VNAV PATH from TOD to finals if you dont get any step descents. Thank you for your comment. Much appreciated. Salute.
Thank you for staying tuned. The instruments normally have a light flickering because the frames per second (FPS) recording of the camera is not aligned with the frequency of electricity to the screen/instrument... I'll increase/decrease the frequency next time... Lighting also affects the the camera frames per second if on auto mode. Thank you for the feedback. I'll rectify next time. Asante sana.
It depends with the season and the aircraft weight category. Generally, larger and heavier aircraft tend to be more stable in turbulence compared to smaller ones. Also thank you for always tuning in. Asante sana 🙏🏾
@@CallsignBookworm am a fun in aviation staff don't judge but what if the terrain is uneven or due to mechanical or faults on the plane the only safe descent is at 3000 just by training your mind that's your descent incase of emergency or human error, which I think is in possible in this field

What intrigues me is, how do they film the externals of the aircraft whilst in flight?. For example the landing gear.

I used shots from Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020.. The graphics are amazing and quite close to the real deal.

Woow, that was a smooth landing.
In my case, when aproaching to land 737-800 in x plane, i only hear glideslope warning.
It's because your rate of descent is quite high. Maintain 1000ft per min or less for the approach you'll be fine. Thanks
