Wow... I has to pause and have a closer look at Mombasa Road, it brings back memories, it makes me miss Kenya, miss home. Watching from Diaspora Ongata Rongai
I respect your opinion but on the contrary, it's meant for some people and not all because of various interests maybe in nature or aviation. There's a lot going on, with the aircraft and the scenery so different people will see things that appeal to them. For instance the fuel jettison valve is staring at you throughout the flight, you are happy it wasn't used over the Indian Ocean for this flight because damping fuel means trouble but finally the speed brakes deploying as descent is initiated meaning you are almost in Nairobi. Finally the initial turn over the escarpment, the beauty and serenity of the escarpment, the final turn as the aircraft descends to line up with the runway, the extension of the flaps to damp lift as the aircraft now's slowing to probably 145kt, the noise of the gear deploying, the splendour of Ngong Hills and Nairobi from the air and the realisation why people travel from all corners of the earth to see the same beauty plus tembo, Simba and their cousins, Uncle Moran the real Masai, Ole Kinuthia (pretending to be Massai but splitting plots in the land of Oloibon)..the excitement of finally being back to Nairobi and realising how much you've missed it and no matter where you've been there's nowhere like home, the invitation of a chilled orange Fanta that you can only get in Kenya.. by the time you see the blue roof warehouses, if you're naughty enough to have your phone on, Safaricom has already welcomed you back home....finally as the aircraft's just about to land, for boring guys like me, your mind wanders into the cockpit, the engines going to idle, flares just about to come next, by this time you are an expert of perfect landing and thinking you could do a better job but the the minimal movement of the ailerons is an indication the good people at the front of the aircraft have things nice and steady but also you are landing on a calm windless beautiful day in the City Under the Sun, Enkare Nairobi....thump, as gear hits the termac, you know you are stoping when the spoilers and reverse thrust deploy and you can finally relax you've made it at last.that's what I get from the video and probably a lot of people do feel the same way. That said I hear you but music or commentary would have messed the most beautiful video.
That is true Explore London. I really enjoyed how the aileron and flaps gradually shifted as the plane descended.Watching the beautiful sceneries is a breathtaking experience. Some videos like these ones doesn't need music. It is distracting. I really enjoyed the video as it is. Some could only comment about coughing which is normal. All that is what they got from the video.
