I miss your preview and review episodes, but your last episode about how teams win close games was one of the best you've ever done. Keep mixing it up.
I'm amazed at how one-sided that discussion is Yinzers got Matt Canada fired in under a year's worth of games for Pickett. Ravens' fans not only excused the worse stuff Roman was doing to the Ravens' offense they *_defended_* it saying "Roman is helping Lamar with Certain Issues." You all remember what those were, right? You know, that time they held a press conference & told us *& all the other NFL teams* that their MVP QB "had issues" & what they were?
Thing is, herbert has always been very safe with the ball. What has gone up is per throw efficiency, which is thanks to the scheme being better and there actually being a balance between the run and the pass. For every other year, not only was it a 60/70-40/30 ratio, but they were not getting yards on the ground almost ever. Outside of 2021, they always averaged just 3.8 ypc, but Ekeler would benefit from Kellen Moore being deathly scared of touchdown passes. I mean if we need proof that Herbert can work with dudes off the street as his receiving corps, look at 2022 where 6 guys had 500 receiving yards on the season and probably is the only reason DeAndre Carter still has a job
One thing I've noticed this year on his explosives and like these busted coverages and dudes having space, it's literally cause he's reading his routes low to high after having a good idea presnap, and then the dude whos assignment is to cover these deeper areas just hesitate and don't get to it, he reads the field and those shots of his peripheral a lot and well so he doesn't give it away, and he confirms its there when he's loading up. And so safeties can't "read his eyes" as much. Example, almost all qj coverage busts, the jalen reagor fumble, the palmer bust vs browns, the rail to kimani, there are probably more.
ravens defense generationally ass, and the steelers offense and defense are pretty good. the game is also being played in pittsburgh. everything here points to a steelers win. therefore, the ravens win this game.
@@ShinefortheCamno, I think it’s their passing yards per game allowed that’s literally the 4th worst ever… ever. Not this year, or in the past 5 years, it’s 4th worst ever. That’s what you call generational.
Not generationally as they do well vs the run on early downs. But they are bottom rank in giving up explosives which doesn't bode well against good playoff teams who can generate those. If anything the harder thing to do is take the discourse from Lamar performing bad in big games to Harbaugh's coaching sucks in big games. Because the Ravens came out flat vs Tomlin's Steelers who were prepared to play a mucky game.
Mahomes been kinda cheeks this season honestly. His personal play is not why they're winning. Meanwhile Burrow but his team on his back and Herbert is quietly turning into the world's best game manager so yea, as far as consistency is concerned Bengals/Bolts is definitely going to be the "better" matchup, just maybe not as exciting and not with as much on the line (though both teams are in the hunt for a wildcard spot, so there's that)
Call me crazy but I think this is the week the Ravens defense makes a slight improvement. A few key personnel changes could bump this pass defense up 5-10 spots
Harbough has been hard-headed about making any major changes, like moving Stephens to free safety, which he's flatly said he won't do. Tre'davious White should be in there on a rotational basis, at least. I'm cautiously optimistic. I see Lamar as a different player this year and I think he's capable of racking up a decent number of touchdowns against any defense in the game.
Brett did not just say with a straight face that Herbert vs. burrow is the best QB matchup right after talking about Allen vs. mahomes. I mean I love Justin and Joe but c'mon.
@BootlegFootball fair enough. Mostly giving you shit and yeah the Monday night game was pretty insane. I guess it's fair to say that with how middling mahomes has been playing. Thanks for all the great videos!
man could you imagine atlanta if they had any kind of pass rush. like what if they’d drafted Verse? oh well, I’m sure their first round pick this year is helping the team this season!
My 2¢ on the KC-BUF matchup is that KC will play it pretty safe and not show their actual gameplan for the Bills. Or maybe show things to deliberately put them on tape to set up other stuff (or just waste their practice time preparing). They almost don't care if they lose. I know that's not literally true, but Reid knows to play the long game, and that doesn't include showing every trick you have in this game.
What the Bengals are going through reminds me of what Falcons fans went through with Matt Ryan. We had a Hall of Fame QB & WR pairing for a decade in the 2010s and they never had a good defense once to help them out. Even in that Super Bowl year the Falcons defense was atrocious. And Matt & Julio still almost got us a Super Bowl just like Burrow & Chase in 2021.
Bengals actually had a 'good' defense and a very good DC in Lou Anarumo. Problem is the team has not addressed key talents leaving and building on that defense from 2022. They aren't as consistent against the run on early downs anymore and this young DB group is on/off. Also Burrow playing shotgun is kind of the scheme but it is very limiting in some situations. Kinda hard to see in games when Burrow is hitting Chase and the receivers in rhythm to move the ball and score.
Things I enjoy watching as a bengals fan: Joe Jamarr Trey Amarius mims being halfway decent Orlando brown jr and tee, when either are healthy And that’s it. All the young defensive players they’ve drafted have, like Brett said, completely SHIT the bed majority of the time
This Broncos season reminds me a little bit of their 2005 season. One of the forgotten really good teams, different recipee, functionally a bit similar to this year's team.
As a bengals fans, you guys are spot on. I know this season is not over but it feels like the bengals are wasting Joe and Ja’maar and their prime years
What are the chances Brett does a video on which version of the Ravens show up in big games? Same Ravens that ROFLstomped the Bills a month ago came out looking flat vs the Steelers. All courtesy of the Tomlin Special (no points scored by the offense). High time to look how Harbaugh lacks prepping his guys in these big games.
Am I crazy or does EJ sound extra nice today? Like a few weeks back he got the camera upgrade and today I kinda feel like maybe there was a sneaky audio upgrade somewhere in his setup?
For any betting people out there if there's one person that you might want to bet on that's a long shot to have a really good game in the Steelers versus Ravens match up it would be Calvin Austin. With Russell Wilson starting he continues to get targets and for the most part he makes the most of them as long as Russell Wilson is not throwing them over his head LOL. He could easily catch a deep ball or two and wind up with like 80 or 90 yards with only three catches.
When discussing Rosengarten vs the Steelers Edge room you missed something important: they just traded for Preston Smith. He's a power rusher who just had his first full week of Steeler practice. I think we see him on Rosengarten a decent bit.
I don’t think so. Steelers ravens will likely be a low scoring boring football. I can see both teams being strategically conservatively to get the divisional title. Bengals are desperate and fighting for a playoff spot which will likely lead to aggressive play calling. Chargers will have to slow them down defensively or match points with them offensively making a more exciting game.
Just got me some Indian Food, a new Bootleg episode is out, life is good man. Also on a side note: I am German and I was thinking why the NFL doesn't schedule good teams in for the German Games. I mean the panthers giants game was pretty entertaining in a scrappy kinda way, but every year the panthers? Why?
I'm from the UK my friend. The NFL has been sending us the Jaguars for years. They tease us with talk of a London/ European franchises but the truth is they just want our money. They send us the worst games they think they can get away with. They want to save the best games for their biggest audience slots which isn't 6.30am California time. You got a good one for your first game but don't expect too much in the future. Complaining might help. We Brits don't like to make a fuss but I imagine you guys might do a better job negotiating.
As a Bengals fan, no. We're not enjoying this. We should have beaten the Chiefs and the Ravens twice at a bare minimum. We should have beaten the Commanders, but our defense did not get A SINGLE STOP in the entire game. We have a top 3 candidate for MVP, OPOY, and DPOY on our roster, and we're just barely holding on to playoff contention because of years of poor drafting. It sucks wasting a year of Joe and Ja'Marr's dominant prime. They are the best QB WR combo in this league, and it isn't close. I feel bad for them, honestly.
The inevitable force vs the very movable Bills I'm so sorry Buffalo ...I'm sure football will love you back in 18 years..because yeah..nothing happening for a while until then
the chiefs O is definitely the better clock grinding methodical offense. Chiefs turnovers and lack of explosives if where the bills beat them(also not as good in redzone but better since dhop)
Brett, Bengals fan checking in to tell you were spot on about your analysis. Every Sunday is nothing but existential pain and suffering. This season has had arguably Joe Burrow’s 2 best games, and both games we’ve lost
On offense I don't think so. But if Higgins goes then the Bengals really need to get a reliable second target to take advantage of defenses doubling Chase. Or if Chase goes down and the whole WR group needs to step up. Cowboys saw it when teams could afford to double Lamb and force the rest of their receivers to hurt them. Defense is already bad as is considering they haven't improved in pass rushing, they don't have an anchor for the run game and their DBs aren't playing on that level.

Matters in the race for the one seed. Chiefs essentially clinch it with a win (barring the Steelers going on an insane run). Don't get me wrong, as a Bills fan I'd rather win the playoff game than the regular season game, but I'd rather win both game than lose one of them.
As a Bengals fan this has been some of the most disappointing football I’ve ever seen from this team. The playcalling is questionable and pathetic every game. No one can get out of their own way on this team. Our FO refuses to address obvious holes and is just cool with only having Chase be the good and reliable WR. Don’t even get me started on Yoshi and how everyone hyped up his awful ass. Just a pathetic team and franchise that I support every week.
That is kinda the sad part. Bengals hit on the draft that formed their core of their explosive offense. Took awhile to finally help the O-line. But the defense aggressively went from frisky to flailing within 2 years. Play calling is also not as creative in part because Burrow's magic relies heavily on him to play shotgun. Even when Chase Brown gets a big run on early downs, I'm not confident he can threaten to do it consistently from shotgun.
Us Chiefs fans are in the same boat. Regular season wins are nice, but the playoffs are what actually matters. We'll both be there and we'll likely play each other. I'd almost rather lose to end this whole 17-0 distraction and light a fire under this team.
FFS Russ W is no where near the QB that Joe B is. steelers are gonna lose this by 6 or 7 points after a late score that makes the game seem closer than it actually was
Love you guys, but come on... how can you say in the same video that the Chiefs could "easily" be 5-4 and the Chargers should be 8-1? Even if the Chiefs hadn't been so "lucky" you know they are clearly the better team.
Did you stay Burrow has been more careless? How about the first 6 games of the year Burrow had precisely 0 turnover worthy plays and the most bigger throws in the league. For 6 games. Not just some week 7 which is 3 games. Burrow is playing out of his mind. Justin Herbert isn’t. Burrow has 2740 passing 24 tds and 5 interceptions and. Over 200 rushing and 1 rushing TD so he has 25 TDs. He is completing 69.2% of his passes and has a 110 passer rating. Herbert had played 1 less game and has onljy 1800 yards 11 tds and 1 interception less than. 200 rising and 1 rushing TD and Herbert had a 66% completion. Percentage and a 103 passer trying. Burrow is better way better in all categories. And Butrow doesn’t have All Pro offensive linemen blocking for him. Like Justin. Does.
Mahomes almost never loses as an underdog. He loses when you bore him to death. KC usually drops a game that's in between meaningful games and they play down to the opponent. KC also has an advantage almost everywhere other than the Kicking game. Better HC, Better DC, better QB, better special teams, better Defense, better running game. Ironically the way I see Buffalo win is that there are a number of moments KC's n00b kicker has to show up. Perhaps KC has to kick 3 FG's and then another attempt at the end of the game.
What! You're delusional! Did you even watch the video? They went over the numbers! All those categories you claim the Chiefs are better in are nearly identical for the Bills. No one is going to say Josh is better than Mahomes in the grand scheme of things, but it's undeniable that Josh is playing better than Pat this year. Undeniable he's been better in almost every category. You're the type of fan that makes people hate the Chiefs. Again look at the numbers for these teams and they're nearly identical . Again look at the QB numbers and Josh is better this year. If the Bills lose it's because all the injuries on offense not because the Chiefs are just better. Get over yourself. Im a Bills fan picked the Chiefs to win because of injuries on the Bills. I really hope I'm wrong because of delusional Chiefs fans like you
I don't know where the idea that they have a better run game comes from! That's where the Bills actually have a decent advantage over them. 🤦🏽♀️ I truly don't understand how you see it that way. Defense nearly identical in rankings. Offense nearly identical with the Bills being better in a few spots and the Chiefs being better in a few spots. Mind boggled
Actually they don't , they only have a one game lead because they've played less games than the Bills. It goes down to a half game lead if the Bills win .
@@Scratch2win28again you don't know ball if that's what you think. Not the Bills fault they play in a crap division. KC has benefitted for years because of their weak division. And the Bills have dominated teams. The week 1 Cardinals win is starting to look a lot better now.
There's only 2. Bills have at least 5 out and they are significant players that are out. Chiefs are easily gonna win the game. Josh might throw a pick or two when he gets frustrated in the second half.
Babe, wake up, Brett made the sponsor deadline again.
By the skin of his teeth yet again

I don't care about winning reg season chip against KC. I want to take him out in the playoffs.
Us Chiefs fans are in the same boat. Regular season wins are nice, but the playoffs are what actually matters. We'll both be there and we'll likely play each other. I'd almost rather lose to end this whole 17-0 distraction and light a fire under this team.
Really? Burrow/Herbert is a wildly better QB matchup than Allen/Mahomes? I uhhh, yea ur j wrong there
FFS Russ W is no where near the QB that Joe B is. steelers are gonna lose this by 6 or 7 points after a late score that makes the game seem closer than it actually was
lol
Burrow reminds me of how the Packers managed Rodgers
Does.
calm down man you'll live
Actually Chiefs Bills will not determine who hosts in the playoffs. The Chiefs have a 2 game lead over Buffalo.
Actually they don't , they only have a one game lead because they've played less games than the Bills. It goes down to a half game lead if the Bills win .
The Bills haven’t beaten anybody LOL
Rat birds haven't either
@ You don’t know Ball
Have you been blind the last 5 years?
And if you are referring to this year, the Ravens lost to the Browns and Raiders rofl
@ Wtf does that have to do with 2024? All I know is Buffalo haven’t Beaten any good teams this season and the Baltimore Ravens crushed them 35-10
@@Scratch2win28again you don't know ball if that's what you think. Not the Bills fault they play in a crap division. KC has benefitted for years because of their weak division. And the Bills have dominated teams. The week 1 Cardinals win is starting to look a lot better now.
Ravens will eat everyone and their food... #Ravensflock 😈💜🖤💜🖤💜
Cringe
Didn’t they flex the jets colts out of Sunday….and bolts bengals in?? This guy….based his entire take on an incorrect premise….whatever.
Are you going to mention the absences on the chiefs or does that not fit your narrative?
Oh hush
There's only 2. Bills have at least 5 out and they are significant players that are out. Chiefs are easily gonna win the game. Josh might throw a pick or two when he gets frustrated in the second half.
@ brown, rice, omenihu, Pacheco, watson, butker are all starters and missing
