    Where do you plan on traveling this year?

    • @MikeCampo
      @MikeCampo ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm going to see family in Vancouver this summer and it'll be my first trip with my X-T4. Super excited to photograph along the ocean and in the mountain forests!

      I've got trips to Norway and Cuba this year planned. Really looking forward to them! Just need to decide on what lenses to bring!

      @@ThierryGibralta I'm quite fortunate that i have a lot to choose from. I'm thinking of taking the 10-24, tamron 17-70, 70-300 and 18 f1.4 to Norway. For Cuba, probably just the 18 f1.4, 33 f1.4 and maybe 50 f2. I don't think i can really go too wrong tbh, and I don't want to be focused on the gear the whole time

    Battery life is amazing. On Saturday I took 450+ shots, still had 5 bars.

  • @Iamtongue

    The battery life is pretty good! I rarely switch out for a second battery! 😂

      Yup, I always bring a few just in case but I usually get by with one. Feels good 😆

    Just came back from traveling in Thailand for two weeks, brought my XT5 and X100V but almost never used my XT5 hahah, I personally think X100V is the ultimate convenient travel camera even tho its way slower than XT5 but its so tiny and light to bring with you! Its basically on my body the whole time.

    I just got one, heading to Maui next month and very excited to take this cam with me, what lens did you use primarily?

    • @ThierryGibralta
      @ThierryGibralta  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I used to bring the 10-24, 16-55 and 70-300 but lately I started to replace the 16-55 with the 33mmf1.4 for a lighter kit

    Thank you for this and look forward to more posts on your usage of the XT5 so I can learn. Can you do one on white balance?

    I love the X-T5, but for a lot of traveling I still prefer my 12 oz or 340g Sony a6000.

  • @dsaul8900
    @dsaul8900 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Everything you state as positives for the X-T5 could also be given for the OM-1. (I'm not an OM-1 user btw)

    • @ThierryGibralta
      @ThierryGibralta  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      To my knowledge the OM-1 has a 20MP, less battery life, is slightly heavier and only support up to 4K and seems to be a bit pricier than the X-T5

    Hi Thierry! Really nice review! 😊
    I saw that your are from reunion island so I hope you don’t mine if I comment in French.
    Je me demandais ce que tu penses de la taille des photos ? Ça ne rempli par tes cartes mémoires trop vite ? C’est pas trop long à télécharger sur le pc par la suite ? J’hésite beaucoup avec le XT30 II ou un XT-3 d’occasion à cause des 40Mpx, je ne sais pas si je vais vraiment en avoir l’utilité surtout que j’ai pas les objectifs qui sont optimisés pour le capteur de 40Mpx. Et en même temps il a l’air parfait, ta vidéo m’a re convaincu surtout pour les voyages. Est ce que tu vois une vrai différence avec le XT-4 ?

    • @ThierryGibralta
      @ThierryGibralta  ปีที่แล้ว

      Salut Camille! Pas de problème ;)
      Pour la comparaison entre le X-T5 et X-T4 j'ai fais une video sur le sujet, je pense qu'elle va répondre à pas mal de tes questions.
      th-cam.com/video/errmX_6X0T4/w-d-xo.html
      En résumé, oui les photos sont plus volumineuses mais en utilisant des 128GB SD Card je n'ai jamais eu un problème de mémoire. Pour le temps de téléchargement sur PC ça ne prend pas beaucoup plus de temps non.

    Do you think it’s meaningful to upgrade from XT4 to XT5 for Landscape photography?

    • @ThierryGibralta
      @ThierryGibralta  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not necessarily. If you don’t crop much and don’t print bigger than A2 not really

      Maybe start simple with a kitlens l, the 18-55
      Later you will know what you prefer doing then.

  • @luiscurran1

    Yes, the camera is lightweight; but what about the lens(es)? They also are part of the weight issue. So … what len(es) do you carry when travelling?

    • @ThierryGibralta
      @ThierryGibralta  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I already made a video about the topic, but I am preparing an updated list with the XT5. It should come very soon 😉

  • @davepi2173

    I also own an xt5 and am thrilled. But for a trip, not only the body of the camera is crucial, but also the lenses. What lenses do you take with you on a trip where you have different situations to photograph. This is always a big question for me. For example, I'll be traveling to New York, so street photography, then a cruise to the Caribbean and then visiting national parks. What lenses would you recommend so that you can still travel light?

    • @ThierryGibralta
      @ThierryGibralta  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I usually travel with the 10-24, 33 and 70-300 to cover everything I need
