FILM DESCRIPTION:
40-Year-Old Virgin star Steve Carell reprises his role as preening newscaster Evan Baxter in this heavenly sequel to the 2003 Jim Carrey comedy hit. Shortly after television anchorman-turned-U.S. congressman Evan Baxter (Carell) relocates his family from Buffalo to Northern Virginia, God (Morgan Freeman) reveals to him that a devastating flood is coming and the planet is about to be cleansed once again. Later, when Baxter accepts the responsibility of building a great ark and his rapidly changing physical appearance begins to draw media attention, his skeptical family attempts to discern if his actions are driven by delusion or divine intervention. Putting a supreme metaphysical being into a box and giving only two options is being narrow minded. He is the Originator after all. Everything comes from Him and He puts everything into motion directly and indirectly. So is it possible that God knows everything that will happen and yet has given us the free will to make our own choices? Yes it is a possibility. The how is unknown because we don't have that knowledge. But God does. Anyways.

It's amazing how patient and helpful God actually was in this movie. Not only would he assist in moving the animals for him, but he also gave the book! And the good advice.

That laugh is both heartwarming and kinda scary. To think that this being has seen and done so much and is so infinitely old that simply saying you need to think about settling in your house is hysterical to him.
People often misunderstand that even though we have free will, all our choices have predetermined consequences. Just like action and reaction. Our free will is our capability to make the choice but you must live with the consequences.
How do choices already have predetermine consequences? It ruins the whole point of leaps of faith. There's expected consequences, but as for predetermined that is just nonsense.
