The Junk Drawer umm this doesn’t look like the greatest marching band in the country just being honest if it is then if they march shows then they need to show what they good in a good march and a good band program
My uncle was and is the band director for Jackson state and I might go there since I’m on the campus most of the time and I’m encouraged by my family were most of them have been there and been Jsets so I feel extremely proud when this comes into my recommendations as a Mississippian
Film three different ones if possible because all people see are the blue devips and cadets. Show some other people like spirit of atlanta or crossmrn or the madison scouts
I went to high school with a incredible band program. Their hard work and dedication is something I had never seen before. They know the value of hard work which carries them for the rest of their academic career and professional life.
Of course they’re cheering for the marching band. Just playing the instrument is one thing but moving in formations to make a picture at the same time is just amazing.

I am currently in my schools marching band and we put so much dedication into everuthing because it's the only thing our school relys on since everything else isn't the greatest, I've torn my ACL in band and still am doing band even though it hurt me and he is correct about needing all those things to be in a group like this

I was calling a Millsaps match, and War Memorial Stadium (Home of the JSU Tigers) is literally across the street from Millsaps’ tennis facility. I was down to one court left playing, and throughout the day they were found mic checks at the stadium, but at the end day, we all hear drum clicks and a soon following playing of various songs. It turns out that they were having their annual blue and white game the same day, and we were all treated to one of their earliest performances of their marching season.
Man the end got me, my band used to play that same song, although slightly differently, for stand tunes too. Im gonna miss marching, I did it all four years, such a great experience (I'm graduating this year)

So, when he made the claim that Jackson State is the best BAND in the country, drum corps are not included in that grouping. DCI fans argue the word "band" being involved with the sport. Blue Devils, Cavaliers, Phantom, Madison Scouts, those are all corps.

Why would college students be "in trouble"? These are middle class and working class kids whose parents probably went to Jackson State too. They are math, education, pre-law, biology, engineering and business majors just like you.

Ohmaree Douglas I agree both styles are awesome and have their own specialties.
But when you use the dialogue that this is the best band in the country, you're asking for it.
It's mostly just fans though. I almost never see actual drum corps/indoor/marching band members or alumni trash on the other styles
