    I like both Porsche's. I'm a fan of 356's (especially a 356B Carrera 2000), but on this walk thru I'm going with Tim's choice, the gorgeous blue 912. Sure it's only a 4 cylinder 912 and not a 6 cylinder 911, but so is the 356.

    Hey Moggs, what about converting the Triumph's wheel well into a hinged one, that opens from below. Then you could cross-brace the hole inside the boot, and place the batteries straight over it. Cut the well off underneath, and weld on a hinge and a clasp to secure it. Rubber edge seal. Job done.

    I like the fact that many of the old designs run so well on a new power source. I wonder if it's because they were designed so well in the first place? They only had had pencils, paper and rulers but that Vitess could go for another twenty years - in which time all the components will have shrunk again, with more power. Well done you lot!

      A modern tyre inflation kits are terrible, (if its the goo stuff). the guy that will take your tyre off will hatre your for it. but also they arent very good, they make a mess of the tyre, the tyre fitting machine and the person removing the tyre. A spare tyre is far superior in every single way apart from sapce, but as all cars tend to have a spare wheel cavity its a none issue.

      For my part…I believe Mr. Morgan is improving classics and making them more relevant to drive daily. The totally-restored, pristine-condition classic cars seem meant to suffer silently in warehouses and museums. Their value has turned them into paintings and sculptures on wheels. That’s fine as far as it goes…which isn’t far. Power-mad politicians want us to give up our classic cars. I’m with Tim, the 912 (in perfect Blue/Tan combo!) for me, followed closely by the 356 then the Beetle.
    Question:
    If a person wants to keep shifting gears it looks like the Hyper9 is the answer. Is there a different motor with a few more beans(hp) available? An electric 912 with 4-speed and 160-200hp would be perfect!
    Another dream car of mine would be a 356 Coupe Replica from JPS Motorsports with EV power. All the beauty and nimbleness of a 356 without worrying about the ridiculous value! I sure wish someone would make a 911/912 Replica, but I’m afraid Stuttgart would frown on that endeavor.
    The Aston Martin makes me wonder if the owner looked over his list of favorite classic cars until he matched one ( the Aston) to the track width of the Tesla motor/sub-frame. It’s brilliant!
    Thanks for a highly enjoyable update!

      @johnbb99 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      As with an ICE engine (but surely more so) if you're gentle with the right foot, you can be economical even with a powerful engine/motor. My guess is choice of less powerful motor was to save weight, size, cost, or stress on the rest of the drivetrain. Maybe Richard would be kind enough to enlighten us.

    • @MrAdopado
      @MrAdopado ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If driven flat out then yes it would have more range than a more powerful motor but in normal driving there won't be any difference. The more powerful electric motors are not less efficient for a given output unlike petrol engines of yesteryear.

    Have you guys ever lent an ear to the idea of buying a complete road worthy say awd m3 and pulling the body off it.
    Then swap on the outer body of a classic?
    Or like some have done on other ev swap channels make a custom tube frame that can directly accept the whole entire tesla battery pack's underneath and also bolt on the stock tesla suspension motors brakes etc. 🤔
