Replaceable mesh front would make this a 10/10 perfect case.

Hmm Phanteks p600s? ;) I would like to see p600s compact version ;) Anyway fractal products are simply beutifull.

Great review, thanks for including the clearances with front radiators etc. I have the Define 7 in my main, now considering the 7 Compact for a secondary in a living space - white would look great.

2:54 I like the inset feet. The idea is that the case would appear to float if you look at it from the front, which it does.

Is the HDD Drive cage removable through the basement covers?

Absolutely terrific review! You're going over any and all details relevant for potential buyers, in a very interesting way.

How do you find the thermals of the case? I'm debating between this and the Meshify C. This was originally the case I wanted, but with a 5800x and 3080 in my build I'm concerned I might need more airflow. That's when I switched to looking at the Meshify C, which also looks easier to work in. My concern with that case is it might be too loud. Probably a decade ago I purchased a mesh case and hated how loud it was. That said, now we have AIOs, we have fan curves, all kinds of things that could help supplement noise. As GN calls out, a case with better thermals allows for better fan curves and potentially the best of both worlds. Part of me is then inclined to go with the Define 7 Compact... but if I have an AIO I have to remove the top cover and it feels almost arbitrary to bother with the more quiet case. So I'm stuck in this endless decision loop haha.

This is exactly what I'm contemplating about. Watching GN, they seem to regard noise normalized thermals the most important metric. If you look at that, mesh performs better so that's why they're advocating that. But what do you care about most? Noise, or thermals? Personally, I'm not too bothered with thermals. It seems everyone (TH-camrs) wants to have their CPU and GPU at 60-65C and everything higher is viewed as 'running hot'. But both CPU and GPU have much higher thermal limits (generally, 100C for CPU's and 90ish for GPU's). If you take that into account, why not take a case that is quieter (Define) and run it a little hotter?

Is it possible to mount a 240mm dual fan next to the Powersupply? Ofc if you choose a small Powersupply.

You and CJ on elevated systems said exactly the same thing about this case. Did you 2 calab on this?

The review is very good, just fine!!
But (!) no one ever tells the whole truth about tower coolers.(Including on this channel)
I chose Fractal Design Define 7 Compact, I chose strictly according to those characteristics and specifications on the official website.
I chose a serious tower cooler for it, which by all parameters SHOULD fit into this case, this is
Noctua NH - D15. According to the stated data on the Noctua website, its size is 165mm in height. In the Fractal Design Define 7 Compact case, according to the data on the Fractal website, the maximum height of the tower cooler is 169mm. See how everything fits perfectly, doesn't it?!! . . . .
But really, the Noctua tower cooler does not fit into the Fractal Design Define 7 Compact case, it does not fit!!!!!!
And now the essence of the question, about which everyone, including TehnoBelka, is "loudly" silent:
Actually, the tower fits, even the average fan becomes good, but the front fan, located above the RAM slats, moves up because of these very slats, and because of this, the real, I emphasize, the real size of the Noctua NH - D15 tower cooler goes beyond the officially declared.About 2.5... up to 3 cm!!! Noctua does not write about this, and it looks like this is some kind of conspiracy of all reviewers on TH-cam. How many people get to the hull like this, or to replace a smaller tower (or should I take my own)?
Dear author of this video! I appeal to you with a request to spread this information, because the mystery covering this topic will be a major upset for hundreds of trapped people!!
This case is able to fit Noctua NH - D15 with only one central fan. If you install a second fan in front, the glass does not close. That is, either this way, or with 2 fans, but without glass (or a blind metal wall)But this, as you understand, is a collective farm and not an option. Therefore, it is impossible to put processors of the upper line in this case, which have a strong heat dissipation.Only with ITS own.
This information will save a lot of people from spending, through the fault of Noctua.

Is it possible to put 2 240mm fans + 1 120mm Fans into the front? Or just 2x240/3x120?
