Loving this case. I squeezed a STRIX 4090 in my black finished mesh-sided case (with literally no room to spare), and it keeps everything cool and quiet without looking like rainbow unicorn RGB craziness.
Low brightness static RGB can look quite tasteful though ❤ I digress! Haha. Are you please with the case? Debating returning an NV5 for the white TG or mesh one. Looks very clean.
I love the north in all it’s configurations. Hard to choose. I also like that rear grille without a fan. I think I’d go with a huge air cooler, all black in a black north with glass.
Im gonna start with the black/glass, then when I'm updating my living room, I'll switch to the white/glass, and move the black to the PC room. Currently still using the Cooler Master case 5. Almost got it filled up with everything it could hold. Lol.
The first time I saw this case in a video, I knew that I needed it for if I ever decided to move on from a laptop now that I have the space. Just loved the look of the wood. Aaaaaaaaand wouldn't you know, last week today I built my first PC using the black mesh side panel version of this case and I even got a walnut wrist rest for my keyboard, to match it. Yeah. I'm happy.
As a first time builder (or sort of) it's been a fairly good experience building in it. I bought my first rig back in January completely assembled. Than I saw the North last weekend in a TH-cam shorts video and straight up bought it😅. 2 Day ago it arrived and I moved all the parts from the bequiet 500DX in the North. Took me all in all 4 hours. Besides the missing cable passthrough at the top an a little a bit too less space at the front to screw the fan in it's a great case. It's not that difficult to change move all the parts if you never did it before. Just be careful, find a safe place for the motherboard to palce it outside the case and take a few pictures before disassemble everything. A manual for the mainboard can be handy as well 😆. It's really been worth it for sure. Stunning case, especially with some rgb accents inside
I’m a long time ITXbuilder …. However, the Fractal North is the large ONLY case that tempted me to purchase it. I purchase the North with black case w/ dark tinted glass and dark stained timber and it’s gorgeous 🥰🥳🤤🫠! I’ve got a fully water loop setup and temps are amazing ….. there’s about 1c temp difference with the side panel on or off for me 😳😱🤯. The cooling performance this case and aesthetics for me are second to none!
Having only one top pass through hole on the case was a real pain for me trying to install a water cooler for the CPU. I had to squeeze the connectors through too as there was so little space.
I wish they had a variant that would look good on its side. The black variant with brass details would look great next to home theater amplifier if it were sized to standard hifi equipment width for ultimate HTPC setup.
I was doing some case shopping last night, and was thinking about the Fractal North actually, but after watching the GN video, it seemed like it wasn't that roomy inside and also cable management seemed a bit of a tight squeeze at times depending on components being used (think you noticed this too). I went with a Phanteks G500A instead in the end as it just seemed a bit more spacious and easier to build in than this (and it was also cheaper than the North by equivalent of about $30 in my country!).
Really enjoyed this video. I wish you shoot some video showing us how you went about your build. Even though my build is different I can get tips and ideas about cable management.
This case looks Swedish AF, lol. The price is well below what I thought Fractal would charge for it. I was thinking $199-250 but under $150 made this a easy buy.
@@DannysTechChannel216 was a chart topper for out of the box thermals on GN’s review, which is why it’s one of my favorites. Also it’s the only case I know of with 160mm fans that are not obstructed like the 200mm fans were on the 215 due to the chassis blocking much of the blades. The North is one of the best looking cases imo. I’m liking the visual layout of the Hyte Y60 or the Phanteks NV series cases as well. Looking forward to future reviews and builds of various cases!
Hey! I'm thinking about buying this case, but I'd like to know how long the smaller solid panel is, the one from the side. I'm buying a tuf 4070 and I want the rgb on the side to not be covered by it. I'd appreciate if u could measure it, I can't find any details on their website. Thanks!
Thank you for showing the top. Been pouring through videos. But no one has shown that specific part. But does the power button light up? What color is the light?
im definitely going with this case! i love everything about it. Will pair it with Noctua Fans. Now as far as it comes to the GPU a 4080 Asus x Noctua is the perfect pair for this case but the 1700$ price tag for a 4080 is just a pure joke. Ill have to wait for GPU prices to go down i guess
@@DannysTechChannel thanks for taking the time to answer my questions. I plan on buying this case, it seems you had 2 fans at the front and 1 on the CPU. If i bought more fans to exhaust through the top, where would those plug in since there isn't a fan controller?
I hate Fractals stupid screw system, there is like a million screws in their cases and every time you want to swap something atleast one of them falls into the case somewhere. Its especially annoying at the back where you have a screw for every single spacer. They should replace as many screws as possible with clipping systems.
I think you got the wood types mixed up. The white comes with oak, where the black comes with walnut.
Isn’t that what I said?
@@DannysTechChannel 0:52
Oh, my bad
I wish this was configurable. I would really like oak on black.
@@DannysTechChannel Actually, there is a mix-up of the wood types at 0:53.

How long is the STRIX 4090? I’m planning to put a Merc310 7900XTX which is I think 355mm long so I’m just worried about length
This is the best review for this case on the internet! Well done!

Where did you find this case with glass panel?
13:50 was my exact thought process going into my current build. I want the wow factor of my computer to be on the screen

Oooo, I like that idea. Like the Fractal Ridge.
@@DannysTechChannel Yeah, but for ATX parts instead of ITX. Plus I think the black + brass + wood would like pretty high end stuff.
This video feels like a channel from 2013. Not a bad thing.
Thanks 🙏 I try to keep it simple and answer as many questions about the product as I can in each review. If I was watching, what would I want to know?

My TG black has the walnut on the front and I absolutely love it. Still gotta build it tho 😅
Nice review, I really liked the case
Great case. I fitted a 5950x and 3090 GPU and a 360 radiator in front without problem. Also a external 560 rad for extra cooling.
A 560 rad?! Come by our discord channel and share this beast. discord.gg/f9C4YvQTdc I’d love to see it 👀
@@DannysTechChannel done 😅
Brilliant review, earned a new sub
Finally something to go along with those Noctua brown fans 😄
Wont fit a Corsair H150i Liquid cooler with Merc310 RX 7900. Could have been 1” taller or longer and would have been fine.
Good job Danny. I have a sliger S620 SFF case and am seriously considering the black North because I want to use a bigger mobo
Thanks! The North is a little bigger than what you’re using now lol. Wouldn’t be a bad choice for an upgrade.
This is one of my favorite cases along with lancool 216 and lancool iii.
Nice! I was impressed with how easy it was to build in. I was looking to use the 216 next! What do you think?

Could be possible to mod the bottom of the front to acommodate a 5 1/4 inch drive and access it removing the front pannel?

The power button doesn’t light up. Any status lights are white on this case
Where'd you get this brown wooden version of the factual North? I thought it only came in black and white
The front panels are made of wood.
I am wondering if the air flow should not be problematic as it doesn't have a third fan at the back. someone has an experience of that?
this case is so pretty but I went and looked at one at a local store and it feels SO cheap

The clearance between my ram and top radiator is 0mm. They touch :(
Damn I was wondering about top radiator clearance. Good to know.
Same. I had the same issue with fractal meshify c case many years ago...
I am trying to het my first self built pc in this case, and i really liked this look. What size was your Motherboard?
ATX
Actually, I think I used a micro ATX for this build
@@DannysTechChannel Ithought so. Thanks so much! I acctually really like a smaller mobo in this case since Its so clean looking
Is there a solid top and side option?
I think it’s solid side only. Not solid top
Did you use a modular/semi modular psu?
I think it was a fully modular.
so is not having a fan controller an issue? Im new to PC building and not sure if I would need to buy one seperately
The motherboard has fan headers on it. You plug your fans into that. You most likely don’t need a fan controller
@@DannysTechChannel thanks for the answer! Why does the mesh case have one and the other not? Is that because it’s expected to have more fans on it?
Not sure. Could be. A lot of cases I’ve been reviewing lately come with fan hubs which is really nice

Check your motherboard. Most ATX sized boards have at least 3 or 4 headers. You could always get a PWM fan splitter. It’s like a little spider cable
I can clearly see its not watercooling friendly. I'll stick to my 750D behemoth.
how many fans come with the case?
it says 2 in vid
What is the wood finish? I would cringe so hard if it's bare
It’s lacquer over a wood grain look
The WHITE comes with OAK
The BLACK comes with WALNUT
I see that now. There’s been plenty of comments on that, but thank you.
