This bike and the Ninja 500 are the perfect "regular", "standard" or "base" bikes here for the USA. Nothing over the top, no top of the line brakes or engine design/character, they do everything that you may need well, including the highway. Plus they are Japanese to boot. Quality and Reliability #1. Here I am now driving my Triumph Scrambler 400X , which is passenger friendly, but heck I miss the extra 50cc to 100c displacement for the faster American roads here in the USA.
I have 800 miles on the z500. It does not feel or ride like a budget street bike. The throttle is super smooth and predictable at all speeds. The cornering and breaking are perfect for this type of bike. The build quality is excellent. This small Kawasaki is just so much fun to row through all of the the gears and wind out the engine. With a sport liter bike you will likely just stay in 2nd gear for twisties below 70mph and they are heavier so much less fun and more of a chore to go through tight corners. Its obviously not a touring bike, so my only complaints are comfort for longer distance riding. I’m an older guy, so it is a bit sporty of a riding position for me, but I installed bar risers and that helped a lot. The seat to peg height is a bit short as well, but I can last about an hour and a half before I start to feel uncomfortable and cramped. At 70-80mph it’s a bit manic for me, but younger folks will likely not be bothered by the wind blast and it feels like it’s got way more power available at those speeds. Young folks likely won’t need to change a thing on this machine. It’s also quick enough and will easily out perform most cars on the local roads. It’s also easy on the wallet and probably gets around 50mpg even with spirited riding. You get a smile when you stop for gas and spend 5$ to top off your tank before you start your ride for the day.
just got the z500 SE model love this bike so easy to take sharp turns. very nice acceleration for a mid range bike. very beginner friendly or for someone who mostly drives in a city. it got plenty of power for 450 cc bike. easily picks up speed on highways also. for the price its very very good would recommend it to anyone. SE model feels and looks like a high end bike. at least with a other exhaust. the stock one doesnt sound that great. so i put a akrapovic exhaust. but ye what do you expect in that price range. took me 10 min to put a slip on exhaust on it. its not that small either im 197cm and i sit pretty comfy on it.
What beautiful scenery. I was hung up on the Ninja 500 for a starter but I think the Z looks cooler without the fairings and I love the look of standard handlebars. I haven't experienced clip ons. :S
Not too long ago I was riding near where you got on the Hwy.....there's an in and out burger nearby. The views of the mountain are super! plus you are next to civilization. Too bad my out of state electronic toll device was or does not work with yours.

There's is the AM licence, and you can get it when you are 14 (it allows you to ride a motorcycle that is 50cc and goes 45 km/h or 27mph), then there is the A1 licence (you can get it at 16 and you can ride motorcycle with 11kW (15hp), then the A2 (you can get it at 18 and you can ride up to 35kW (47.5hp) and the ratio power/weight can't be more than 0.2kw/kg and finally the A3 licence (you can get it at 20 or 24) and it allows you to ride motorcycle with any power or cc
I have only three dislikes with this bike the first being that horrid exhaust the second is the headlights seem disproportionate but easily overlooked. Third, well I don’t have one yet 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

great sound for stock exhaust
Nah dude. The z500 is a cool little bike but it is not a “great sound.”

6:47 What happened with that shift? I don't ride bikes, so i am not sure.
Didn't raise the shift lever enough to go 3rd gear, still remaining in second gear. Just a small fumble which he quickly reacted to.

OS CBS 500 e 650 também são assim no painel os botões a Kawasaki controle de guidon é das 650 pra cima!
I love mine, but I feel like the dash tells me to shift when the rpms are way lower than yours, do you know why this is?
I believe this is adjustable in the settings
is this bike good idea for touring intercity?
Esperando chegar no Brasil agora em agosto! Que moto perfeita!!! ❤
In Australia the Z500 is quoted at 45hp while the one in US is 51hp, why?
This is a deal-breaker for me
Probably because of emissions.

@ Yea licensing also matters as to why some bikes make more power than others.
