    And the Oscar for best watch presenter goes to Tim Mosso.... again. Too bad for the other nominees... they don’t stand a chance against Tim’s encyclopedic recall and perfectly timed display of the bells and bellows. Seriously, just give the man the lifetime achievement award already. 🤩🥳 thanks for making TH-cam must-see tv.

    People underestimate the importance of Goldeneye for my generation (90s kids). It was a way for fathers to introduce their sons to the Bond franchise, and it turned out to be one of the better Bond films. And the video game for N64... lordy, the hours. The HOURS. Central to many a childhood. Even the video game had the watch, I believe....

    Tim brought the heat today. I'm drooling over the F.P. Journe Vagabondage II., the Bremont Hawking, and the red H. Moser.

  • @snkmonkey

    Bremont watches are just fun, I love how they go all out with a concept, so you can really nerd out about it. Also, a retrograde second makes a watch so interesting to watch, I wish more companies would try things like this. The Grönefeld and Lange & Söhne are perfect finishers, both absolute grail-watches, the Zeitwerk being one of the most innovative watches of our time and the Grönefeld maybe having my favourite movement finish.

    From the seamaster 300m the nekton edition for me is the the best looking one. The matte dial works wonder. I just wish it was 2-3 mm smaller and maybe had a tapered bracelet

    Hey Tim, nice to see you over coffee on a Saturday sunrise! It's hard to argue with the pure class that FPJ puts in a watch but I really like that VC Overseas as a watch I could live with. Oh, what's the height on that HYT, I missed it? Thanks for your good work.

    2:02 I have this one and the yellow gold version (with the black dial and champagne subdials). It's a tough call but I think this one wins. The dial color is called "steel" by Rolex. It's even more stunning in person. I have solid gold Daytonas as well (black dial with champagne subdials and emerald green dial) but the Oysterflex, paired with the ceramic bezel, gives this version a lot of versatility and durability that I can't get from my solid gold Daytonas. You get the same versatility and durability with the steel ceramic Daytonas...but there is an amazing feeling I get with my solid yellow gold Daytonas that my Oysterflex and steel Daytonas can give me.

    AP Jules ultra thin beautiful piece no doubt, every collection needs to have a dress watch like this.
    Vagabondage super design and shows the tech-excellence of the brand.

    Tim, when Rolex eventually update the Daytona, do you think they'll continue with the vast number of models they have or will they pare it down to just a handful like the other sports lines? It seems odd that the Daytona has 40+ models when the sub / GMT / others have 6-10 models each.

    • @bobford7366

    I really do think that the Oyster FleX Daytona is one of the best Daytona models, For me the Day-Date 36 and this Daytona are the two Rolex for me (after the DJ :D).
    The Zeitwerk is just a watch that looks even better with age.

    • @bobford7366
      @bobford7366 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The big downside of this Daytona though is that you're forever confined to wearing it on rubber or a strap. The Daytona is all about the bracelet in my opinion. It's worth it to spend the premium to get the bracelet.

    Has anyone else noticed how WatchBox has steadily increased its pricing? Unfortunately, they are too expensive, and now they charge sales tax for out of state transactions. That's a double no go for me. SMH.

    • @the1916companywatchreviews
      @the1916companywatchreviews  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Bob - Sales tax is the law. Unfortunately, we have to comply. Our prices in general move with the market. They go up when we have to pay more to acquire watches. We price shop other reputable dealers that provide watches in similar condition with a warranty and try to ensure we are fairly priced in the market. You can always give us a call if you think we are out of the market and maybe we can work a deal. Thanks for watching!

    • @cheny414

      @@the1916companywatchreviews you make fantastic reviews but watches you sell are prices way above what trusted sellers are selling for on chrono24.

      @@the1916companywatchreviews Thanks for the response. I brought up the sales tax because many grey dealers still don't charge sales tax so it makes them a bit more competitive in the marketplace. I'm a patron of Watchbox, but I'm also a value shopper so the sales tax is a strong consideration for me (and I'd imagine many others). Thanks for another great video.

    • @sluny1

      Agree 100%. Going back 6 months ago and further, I feel like they were completetively priced. Now I feel they're on the very high side of the market. I've been following their prices for years and literally go on their webpage daily. Also, got lowballed on a NOS FP Journe retail ranging in the $70K range, was offered $7,500 more by one of their competitors. Reminds me of the controvesy they had with LB - Roman Sharf when they were discussing the margins they were working with, and claimed what Roman stated was impossible. On the other hand, WB seems to play with minimum 30% margins. Certainly, it is their business model and they can do what they choose, but it explains by the lowball offers come in and the ultra high end pricing presently. My opinion, not a good long term strategy... Thanks for another good video!!!

    • @bobford7366
      @bobford7366 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@sluny1 Interesting, and thanks for sharing that. WB has built up their influence on social media methodically, so I guess they're increasing margins to capitalize off that influence. Smart for them, crappy for value guys like you and me. At least we get the content for free!
