    Stunning work dude. I bought an Aoshima Mechagodzilla kit a few weeks ago and am contemplating going crazy and panel fusing it and painting it candy red like this. I really appreciate you doing the pre-shading on it too, that makes it look so much more intense than simply doing it in one universal shade. Again man, beautiful work. The effort this takes never gets enough appreciation.

      Wow, thanks for all the positive words. Good luck on that Mechagodizlla, I was thinking of building that also but all chrome :)

      @@Grumpy_G That would be sweet. If you do, maybe consider doing a video on it. There are not many videos of it being done on TH-cam, especially done by someone of your caliber.

    These are kind of flimsy, but really cool gathapon! Got 1 for $5 at a local anime shop. So cool what you did with this!

    multi layer paint effects are great but the paint buildup causes issues with fitment like this

      @@Grumpy_G I just started this hobby a couple of weeks ago and have just finished assembling the entry grade rx78-2. With a small nyc apartment I don’t foresee myself getting a compressor + airbrush anytime soon so I’ll be hand painting it. Tutorials on scribing, cell shading/anime style, organization, materials used, paint mixing ratio, led installation, and diorama would be most welcome. 😁
      Ps: I am eyeing this portable airbrush on amazon and since I’m using vallejo acrylic, I might be able to do light airbrush work.

    may I ask the interval of each layering or application of the paints . TIA

    • @Grumpy_G
      @Grumpy_G  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Only the gloss black i have to wait overnight. That is because its a enamel based paint. The rest I used lacquer. There is 0 wait between each layer if using lacquer. Lacquer dries in a blink of an eye after spraying.

    Hey there! i got a question - After you applied the waterslide decal, did you topcoat it with something so it blends better in ?

    • @Grumpy_G
      @Grumpy_G  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes. I used gloss clear.

    Very nice, where did you get that gundam matt? Min 9, ty.

    • @Grumpy_G
      @Grumpy_G  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm glad you enjoyed my work. The matt I got off of 3rd party seller off amazon. Took forever to get here and it's very hard to search for. I used search word "Gundam Matt" but then you'll probably need to click on each 1 that has a close match and then hope that sellers has "other" types for sale.

    is this really 1:35 scale?

    • @Grumpy_G
      @Grumpy_G  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not official, I got the scale from a diorama that I watched. The modeler said he used 1:35 scale soldiers around this model.

    How'd you accumulate so many decals?

    • @Grumpy_G
      @Grumpy_G  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Most of what you see are decals from unbuilt kits (backlog). I also purchased some "caution' generic decals

    • @kevingil1817
      @kevingil1817 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Grumpy_G Oh I see. I was hoping you had a budget friendly bulk option, because I'm always low on decals myself.
