Thanks for taking me back to my childhood. I always looked out for the Mushroom Garage, and knew we were nearly at my Auntie's house, when I saw it. I remember when the big Asda first opened...it was quite a thing, at the time. Weirdly, the main thing I remember, about Rotherham town centre, was going to the offal shop, to buy stuff for my uncles 🤢 I had family who lived in East Dene, too. I thought poor birthday boy, Billy, was going to refil his pint 🤮😂
Glad you enjoyed it Annie. Mushroom garage has been modernised a bit since our days. It used to really stand out. Billy didn’t surface the next day apparently..lol..
Rotherham has 4 shopping retail parks that have been built since the 90s Everytown in britain is the same.......streets in the town centers full of derilect shops ,that have been rivaled by brand new retail parks with free parking

WOW.. The Beer Keller. That was bang opposite Harris Miller on the other side of the road, down the Moor. There used to be an arcade on the corner there, where I spent my youth on the Space Invaders and Galaxian machines !
Best pub in rovrum was the Falstaff. That had some atmosphere back in the day. Worked there when I was at college, brilliant people there and a lot of fun. Now a bank now I think. Or charity shop :)))))
Eyup David. Thanks for watching mate. I started recording yesterday for Donny as I’ve had a few requests, but it went T*ts up with the snow, so hopefully I’ll be out and about today. Maybe heading to Hatfield
Brilliant. Never seen a fight in there. We found out who it was when we went in Yesterday. It was lovely to meet you and your brother. We will have to do it again sometime but in a different pub or town x
I'm from Rotherham but watching this is weird as I like many others I know, never ever set foot in the now depressing bleak derelict town centre. You should come to my end of town and try all the pubs from Wickersley down to Whiston. Its a completely different world!!
Eyup mate. I’ve not been up that way either in years. It’s always been the nice end of Rotherham in those parts pal. I might have to organise a bit of a crawl from the Tanyard down.
Breadcakes over in pontefract scuffler 🤷♂️ Shaun, went to watch Barnsley play an they use to bang their feet in stands, one bloke says Ave they scored another one and No hot pies have come great banter😂🤣

I remember when Everton visited Rotherham In the cup decades ago, Rotherham lost of-course, but one Everton fan wrote to the local wrag thanking the people for being so welcoming and that the pies were so delicious , be bought another on his way out of Millmoor and it was still hot when he got home..lol. He was right though, no idea how they got them so hot !
Hi Kristian, Thanks for subscribing. I actually visited The Crown for a Sunday Carvery the other week. It’s in this Vlog pal. th-cam.com/video/BldoJlF22AM/w-d-xo.html I was asked to go by a couple of subscribers when we came back from the tour of Europe Volgs. To be honest it was very average at best mate, I was very disappointed. Food was OK but nothing special, the Landlady was as miserable as sin and the staff looked like they really didn’t want to be there. Shame really as everyone seems to rave about it, but I don’t understand why. I’ll defo try the Earl of Stafford though. It’s a place I’ve never been to so it has to be worth a try pal.
