You guys did very well, good choice of options, backups for your backup is what every one should be preparing for. We have been doing been off grid for 8 years and loving it!
We make our own power, grow lots of our own food including wheat and oats, have a flour mill, built a green house and have our own water source. I like the thermal cooker ! what a great idea!.

Hey Off Grid With Brian & Yvonne. We really appreciate you taking time to watch and leave us the feedback. We're going to check out your channel. It sounds like you have a lot of valuable information. Making our own power isn't something we're doing yet, but something we aspire to do soon. Blessings to you both!

I loved the info about back-up power for the well! So many folks O talk to think they need a live Creek in a SHTF scenario, but if you have a good well, you just need to have backup power to the pump or a solid hand pump. People have lived with wells since Old Testament times; it’s a solid water source as long as you can access the water!

Ozark Prepsteaders, you guys are awesome. I hadn't thought of the fact that they were using wells in Bible times, but how true. It's interesting hearing your point of view as realtors, that a lot of people think they need a creek. It would be nice to have one! But, the well certainly does it's job.

Great information , very helpful! I can tell your videos are well thought out 👍Thanks for sharing! Those tabs are neat during video. The audio did seem a little low. I like the term "Back up your back up". Thermal cooker, ive never seen this! Keep up the good work!

Hey Conrad Homestead! Thanks so much for taking time to watch and leave us some feedback, especially about the audio. We'll try to get that better next time!
Yes! We are strong proponents of backing up your backups! We're really getting our preps dialed in with everything going on, which it seems like many are doing.
Blessings from our family to yours!

7:12 I've never heard of a thermal cooker either.
10:42 I would've never thought of grinding grains with a bicycle. Interesting.

Franklin, Thanks so much for taking time to respond to our video. The thermal cooker is such a great addition to the kitchen for many reasons! The bike grain grinding is pretty intriguing to me as well. Getting exercise while preparing food is a win-win! As always, your support means so much to us.

Carolyn, I am so sorry about the volume. We have gotten that feedback previously, so have worked on it since then. I wish we could raise the volume on this one, but don’t know how to do that.
      Blessings!

Thanks for sharing! A thermalcooker was a new one for me. I’m currently thinking about getting a grain mill. I make about 6-8 sourdough spelt loaves a week, and I think it’s time to start grinding my own flour. Are there any grain mills you recommend?

    • @LivingQuiteSimply
      @LivingQuiteSimply  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Hi Tanglewood Homestead. Wow, sourdough bread! What an awesome skill you have! I’d love to make sour dough, but think it’s intimidating.
As far as a grain mill, the country living grain mill is the only mill we have experience with and we loved it. We got it on a discount because it was blemished- which wasn’t noticeable at all, and it was a good deal.
The thermal cooker we use is Saratoga Jacks, and I noticed today on their website that they have a grain mill that looks really nice and reasonably priced. I’m planning to buy that and can let you know how it does.
Thanks so much for taking time to watch the video and reach out to us. We so appreciate you.

Hi there. I just wanted to say I really appreciate your channel. You guys have invaluable information. My husband and I have always had a similar mindset to you all, and I've learned quite a few new things. Especially with your videos on buying property in the country. Our family are Christian's (Which i just assume you are) ha. And we are actually moving from Nevada to South Carolina soon, Lord willing. Our dream is to buy some property in the country, so we will be definitely taking all these things into consideration. Blessings
