Are you a brand new investor looking for the perfect dividend portfolio? Look no further! In this video, we're taking a look at the perfect portfolio comprised of 10 of the best dividend stocks for brand new investors that will help you beat the market and provide you with reliable dividend income for years to come.
The ideas and opinions presented in this video are meant for informational and entertainment purposes only, are not intended to serve as a recommendation to buy or sell any security in any account, and are not an offer or sale of a security. They are also not research reports and are not intended to serve as the basis for any investment decision.
Which stocks would be in your perfect portfolio? Let me know in the comments! 👇
I don’t see any thing perfect about this portfolio unless you have about a hundred years to let it grow before you begin to draw from it. I would urge you to consider doing a video on stocks that are able to be drawn from in a time frame of approximately 5 years unless you’re listener base is majorly young people. As for me, I need to be able to begin drawing from dividends in about 5 years. Maybe that kind of portfolio is non-existent?
Starting from scratch and drawing dividends in 5 years is going to be extremely hard to accomplish. It's possible, however, if you are able to invest an obscene amount of money every single year
@@georgedavis1571 Even if you just buy verizon aarc abr and bx you will start gettinggood dividends. I have done it for 2 decades and made a fortune.
Waste Management is worthless in our area. They are about to lose the contract here for not picking up.
My top Stocks are Microsoft, Apple, Alphabet, McDonalds, Johnson & Johnson, Pepsico, Coca Cola, Starbucks, Nike, Hershey, Proctor &Gamble, Realty Income and Vici. Greetings from Germany
Nice, those are all great picks
Great Stocks.
I like it
Hey, can I ask what broker do you use?
@@bobskalinsky1771prob trade Republik or scalable capital
Appreciate the consistency. Costco, V and MA are standing out imo
Thank you! Those are all stand outs for sure
Keep going Ryne
You too Norman!
Been holding Costco for a couple of years. Up 50% since 2019
Very nice!
Thx for the vid. Pretty solid portfolio there.
Thank you man, appreciate you watching!
My top 10 picks: ABBV, COST, HD, MA, MSFT, SCHD, SPGI, UNP, UNH, VGT. (I made this list before watching the video)
Love it! That would be a very solid portfolio
Why limit to us companies lot of Uk and Australia companies are better divided aristocrats
@@Exceptionhandler202I only invest in what I know.
@Exceptionhandler202 the United States places higher taxes on foreign stocks
@@mxnexpertgamer2418....you're correct. Plus, I'm more familiar with US companies.
Awesome video!
Thank you my friend!
Great video, made dividend investing and starting as simple too understand as possible
Thank you so much!
Excellent information
Thank you!
I just want to say how much I appreciate videos like this! In my beginning investor days I was always chasing after the next Amazon. Thinking why invest in boring companies, they won’t give you 300% gains. It just goes to show that if you start out in a good core of stocks you can still see great gains and outpace the S&P. I wish I had this philosophy back in 2010, I would be a lot better off! I hope new investors embrace portfolios like this at the beginning and build from there rather than chasing the next meme stock. Thanks for the video Ryne!
Thanks for sharing all of that Steve, I'm glad you enjoyed this one!
SCHD, QQQM, JEPI, VOO, DGRO is all you need!
My core ... SCHD, VOO, QQQ, JEPI, JEPQ.
@@hulenbryant5637 solid!
Fascinating video. Although I have more holdings, I picked what I judged to be the best one or two stocks in each sector. With SCHD as the core at 25% and each of the 15 individual stocks set at 5%. And I have a rule: if I am considering adding a position, I have to select something to remove. Makes me think hard about any changes. Oh, and I own no O.
That makes sense Michael!
If you had to pick just 10, I like your methodology and think you landed on a really solid group of 10. As a dividend growth investor, I would prefer JPM over V but other than that I am loving the list.
Thank you my friend!
great selection i am just missing some insurance . my pick NN NL or ASR NL
Nice ones!
THanks for a great video.
12:34 What website did you use to analyze portfolio?
Thank you! This was from portfoliovisualizer.com
AVGO I would have in here and either HD or Lowes just from a MOAT standpoint.
Those would be good adds
Would you recommend buying into the companies individually or through ETFs that include them?
Thanks for this video. It was good. My top holdings schd,s&p 500, o,pey, jepi,mo,omf,ko,v,pfe. Hoping to add p&g
Thank you!
I like your selections. Here some dividendstock from my country(germany): Mercedes Benz, Siemens(Household and some other), Allianz(Insurance), Infineon(semiconductor), Deutsche Telekom(Communication), Vonovia(REIT)
W Allianz
W Allianz and Siemens! Siemens is way more than household. They build the machinery that builds machinery
@@crashycrash5848 True, but Siemens is part of a sector in which I don't like investing
Thank you for sharing those!
I would probably swap VICI for O and swap CNQ for CVX
Great video though 🎉
Those would be good moves
great video Ryne my perfect portfolio or my portfolio for now is Vici, V, UNH, PEP, NVO, DPZ, CVX, CAT, CCi and one stock with no divs that is GOOGLE on the future ill have about 12 to 15 stocks i dont want more cheers dude
Nice Rui, that is a solid batch of stocks my friend. Keep up the good work!
Great video Ryne. Can’t disagree with any of your picks and the numbers don’t lie. That’s why we’re dividend investors. Question: if you were 60 years old and accumulated $1million in your 401k/IRA and didn’t learn about dividends until now….and wanted to create a dividend portfolio yielding 4% or $40k per year, which 10 dividend stocks would you select? Perhaps this is an idea for another video?
Thank you my friend! That could be another great video idea. I’ll keep it in mind
Thx Ryne! Can i ask something about ur spreadsheet. I am from Germany and is this link for me free too?
It's absolutely free for you too!
You just cloned 4 out of 5 stocks in my big account with MSFT, PG, JNJ, and CVX. Those stocks DO perform well over time! I still have 102 shares of Realty Income, too, and will hold those indefinitely. Great picks.
Your portfolio was my inspiration for this Duke!
@@rynewilliams Thanks!
My top 10. Msft. JNJ. PEP. ABBV. PG. GD. CVX. JPM GPC. TXN
ThanX Ryne.. Great picks.. Have many of these..... LOVE V & MA........ Be well.....
You as well my friend, thanks for watching!
Hello how do you make such monthly ?? I'm a born Christian and sometimes I feel so down 🤦of myself because of low finance but I still believe in God

Same, I operate a wide- range of Investments with help from My Financial Adviser. My advice is to get a professional who will help you, plan and enhance your management skills. For the record, working with Mary Bridget , has been an amazing experience.
I just can't bring myself to buying single stocks. I feel like it's a slippery slope into an unmanageable portfolio required way too much attention. I have restricted myself to 15 holdings...all ETFs with the majority being dividend and dividend growth. The one exception is 10% into BRK.B. My rule is to never sell or change funds, but I can contribute more or less to satellite funds, based on how I feel where the market is headed. Core holdings are broad US and SCHD.
I'm glad you've found a strategy that works for you!
Costco for sure, id put United Healthcare over JNJ personally and switch Comcast with a Railroad company, CNI or CP. Ive always been iffy with communication holdings though. Awesome stuff man! Hope you're doing well (:
I get you man...that would be a good looking portfolio. Especially with UNH in it
APD, WM, PEP, KO, PG, JNJ, MSF, O, AVB, EQR
That's a solid list
Hello Ryne, Great videos! However, I have just started out with investing and most of the stocks you have suggested are quite expensive. I have a low capital. Do you think Pfizer is a good dividend stock to invest in? Also, for most of the stocks mentioned, should I wait for the price to fall or buy now considering the price might increase? Thanks!
I think the verdict is out on PFE right now...as far as the other stocks, if you think the price will increase, especially over a long period of time, then buying now is not a bad idea
Thoughts on the etf JEPQ?
It’s not for me
V, SPGI, COST, MSFT, AVGO, BAM, MCO, ADP, CAT, JNJ
Love it, those are all solid picks
no O for me just eprt and vici I would like a little capital appreciation with my dividends
Sounds good!
How would you compare investing in Dividend stocks vs investing in ETF´s Like Nasdak 500 that has a proven historically growth of 10% per year?
One is a more hands-off approach that will deliver certain results depending on what you invest in, and the other is a more hands-off approach that will deliver certain results depending on what you invest in. It's difficult to say that one is definitively better than the other, because it depends on a myriad of factors
So far my portfolio have 13 in it including stock and etf:
O, KO, SBUX, XOM, ABBV, JPM, HD, APPL, MSFT, UPS, MO, SCHD, VOO
Any recommendations to trim down or just keep it as it it with no more adding new holding into it??
I was thinking off selling Appl just to focus on MSFT, cause i just had only 1 share of it….and selling KO to go with Pep or PG instead!!!!
Any recommendations or comment would be greatly appreciated 👌
I think if you were to consolidate some more, the move you described there with AAPL could make sense. Overall, you have some really solid holdings!
@@tonyherdina9142 but it pays a good amount for dividend aint it? I did had a thought back then too…cause i’m thinking of cutting down to 10-12 stock!
SCHD, VYMI, DGRO, O, CAT, VOO, ABBV, LOW, SNA, JNJ ...... + My 3 top Canadian pick CNI, RY, TD.
Interesting exercise I cannot just pick 10 positions. I feel better with a wider range. My core position is made of 4 ETF( SCHD, VYMI, JEPI, DGRO)for usa + REIT (O)@ 10% of portfolio each. The rest is individual stock 1% (SBUX, DIS) 2%(UPS, VPU) to 4% (CAT, VOO). 20% of my portfolio is international (CNI, RY, TD + SCHY, VDC...)
Solid list of stocks!
GRPH $3.80 +21% announced late Friday the record date for the special dividend of ($1.03/ share) to be paid on March 21st to shareholders as of record March 18th
Cool!
I’m new to this and just wondering if I live in Europe should I invest in European stocks or are American stocks ok too? Just because when you do invest some are in dollars would it be more beneficial for me to looks for stocks in euros
Thanks 😊
I think there may be certain tax implications investing in American stocks, but I could be wrong on that. That's something I'd look into
Great informative video. Hopefully you dont get sued by beck for copywrite infringement.
Thank you! Also, what do you mean? Where was there Beck in here?
V, Msft, AAPL, AABV, CvX, HD,MPLX, JPM, NEE, NVDA
All nice picks!
Only 1 SCHD king 👑
Top 5 Main, Gain, O HRZN, FNILX.
Right on!
Where can I use the portfolio visualizer?
You can find it at portfoliovisualizer.com
I wouldn't say "perfect" but solid portfolio nonetheless!
Currently I have 18 stocks and looking to trim to about 10-13. I have:
Apple, Microsoft, exon mobile, Starbucks, J&J, visa, J.P. Morgan, reality income.
Recently sold coke and bought Nvidia.
I’m planning to sell J.P. Morgan as I’m up 30% on it.
What do you think you'd put that JPM money into?
@@rynewilliams either visa or Schd
Good moves
Visa is a solid pick despite the low yield.
Thanks a lot
Thank YOU!
Rn I own:
50% =
MO, CVX, HD, JNJ, main, PEP, P&G, O and Visa
Other 50% is vusa
What do you think or What would you swap or add/remove
Be brutally honest
i would buy SCHD dividend king
@@millir6868 not in my broker Unfortunately
Before I watch this video here are my stocks: NVDIA, PG, AAPL, PEP, SCHD, ABBV, JPM, JNJ, HD, AMZN, MSFT, VOO. How are we looking? 🕺🏻‼️
Looks like a solid batch of stocks!
🌈🌈🌈I only have 2 stocks in this video, which is Exxon Mobil and Realty Income. Right now I only have 11 individual stocks in my portfolio, depending on my portfolio success, I don't plan on adding another stock until December of this year.🌈🌈🌈🌈
Nice!
DUK, O, SCHD, JEPQ
Nice ones!
This is the first time i am doing stock market..can i buy this stock you said?
You can, but I wouldn't buy it just because I talked about it in a video. If you're just getting into the stock market, I would highly recommend you learn about ETFs. Those may be the best place to start
@@rynewilliams thank you for the advise...will do that🤗
Forecasting out 10, 20, 30 years might be fun to see the results but the likelihood that growth of these companies remains the same is highly unlikely. Adjustments will need to be made to any portfolio over time, even buffett buys and sells pretty consistently including completely selling out of positions over time and adding new ones. This sort of concentration is also very dangerous as any one or 2 positions now makes up 10 to 20% of your portfolio again not even Buffett is this concentrated and has never recommended this type of concentrated portfolio for the average investor. Not something i would recommend either.
You are correct Buffett does not recommend this for the average investor...but he absolutely is and has regularly been ridiculously concentrated with the BRK portfolio. AAPL has been between 40-50% for much of the past 4 years *and* he has added to the position in that time.
100% Berk crazy heavy on Apple.
@xaldath4265 he still has 46 Holdings, including 2 etfs spy and voo and Markel is a mini bershire with multiple Holdings. The strategy covered here is 10 Holdings.
Why do u think Visa is better than MA
I talk more in-depth on Visa here in this video if you want to check that out: th-cam.com/video/1Gm4A7EFYI4/w-d-xo.html
🙃 FUSD and JGPI
all needed for EU
Anyone else have a dream to life off dividends?
100%
Why does everyone and their mother love O? It underperforms, has little to no share price appreciation, and if you own your house, offers unnecessary exposure to real estate. It doesn’t add up
Yeah i just sold my position. It's been dead weight for years now. Idk 🙆
I think it’s their monthly payouts angle that attracts some people. I agree with you completely about its very average performance over the last several years.
I have seven stocks: CAT LOW PEP PG PSX V XOM
Nice ones!
10 stocks is NOT a well diversified portfolio... you would need ideally 20-25... above that the diversification gain is marginal
I don’t think the point of the video was to make an ultra diversified regular portfolio. This is a starter dividend portfolio with 10 stocks from different industries that’s diversified the correlation rations of these stocks are way lower than 1 dude.
SCHD 😁
Haha there you go
How do you not have CAT in there??? Insaaaaaane!!!
Oh man, that one absolutely should've been in there! I was slacking on that one
@@rynewilliams CAT should be your next one. 👍

@jeffaragon I did say average. Keep up the good work best of luck
If i had to trim down my portfolio to 10 I'll stick with :
