just wanted to ask what you think about replacing this dock connector assembly from another ipod touch. First to take it off of the other ipod (de soldering) and to then use it on my broken ipod. Of course the ribbon will have to be cleaned to . Do you think it is possible to do this

The flex I received has adhesive on the bottom around the connector . Do you solder the top still? Can the connections be bridged at all ?
Hello, Yes you solder the top solder connections. The adhesive will help keep the flex cable down while you solder and yes you can bridge the connections but it will be easy to see. If you have bridges just add flux and remove excess solder. If you have any further questions please let me know.
Out Source Repairs if I touch the black part with the solder iron and it melts a bit will that cause the flex cable to go bad ?
It can if you cause to much damage to the flex cable. If you have Kapton tape I would tape over the black portion of the flex cable next to where you are soldering.

Yeah, I looked into this thinking it would be normal and I could do it quickly for cheap. I'm not surprised Apple made it unnecessarily difficult to do
my daughter dropped her ipod tocuh 6th gen in toilet we got it back working but the charge port will not longer let ipod charge i have the ipod touch 6th gen dock port flex cable an the tool kit but i dont have all the tools you show in your video an i really dont want to mess up on it an distroy it how can i get it repaired without putting more money into it we dont have alot of money so i need the simplest an easiest way to do it
There is no way to repair it without putting more money into the repair if you do not already have a solder iron and hot air. If the Ipod was dropped in water I highly recommend you have the logic board ultra sonic cleaned before attempting to power it on because you can easily burn out components on the board causing either permanent damage or a more expensive repair.
i can t connect to iTunes because one of the lines in charging port is out, even my computer cant detect my ipod.
