And all they're games are 100% exclusive physicals, unlike Limited Run where lately they get a bestbuy/retail store variant release for half the price and more content sometimes.
Limited Run did a physical release of The Messenger. My brother just sold his copy for like $200 bucks. he didn't even ask me if I wanted it first! The nerve.
limited run did not do a physical release. they had a special cover version of the special reserves release. I think it was the same price but didn't come with the extras. it wasn't a numbered release for them. Basically bought a cheaper version off special reserve then sold that at the same time. Limited run sold Special Reserve's product. They've done it for a couple companies. They were basically just a distributor for them.
I use to be all about Limited Run games years back because they were the only one around at the time, but it was always a crappy experience buying from them. Im still waiting on stuff I ordered over a year ago. And their owner I had always had seemed like an ahole to me when I saw him in interviews which turned me off more.
Same they used to be so good and now you are practically waiting forever for your stuff, it took a year for my copy of Castlevania and River City girls zero to arrive in the mail.
same story LOL, waiting for literally over a year for receiving my copy of No More Heroes, and looks like that will be my last purchase since they are blocking me on Twitter just for questioning about their controversy LOL
Stopped ordering these limited releases ages ago. Keeping track of what comes and goes in exhausting. Plus waiting forever to receive the game. Much of it is shovelware too
I used to like limited run but now getting your stuff takes forever! The last item I got from them was Castlevania lament classic edition I ordered it around December 2021 and it finally came ONE YEAR LATER. I think the best physical copy of a game I ordered was TMNT shredders revenge, but the version I bought is from a company called signature edition games bear collector's edition was very impressive 2:55 I bought the switch version and it's still on their website available if anyone wants one
yeah i think limited run got on the grift too hard to fast. selling more games and merch than they can reasonably handle. for me i rarely buy from them anymore. there are a few shady things they did (drastically changing the shantae statue, taking a physical release out of a preorder, seemingly informing no one of the change, then blaming customers for being upset). it's been a weird journey. i do want to say i doubt i'd have some of the releases (castlevania for example) without them though.
The most games that I have is from limited run games I just wish they had a faster developing time instead of us waiting 2 years to get your games. Great Topic Killing it.
Limited run always was limited. They just had batches of like 4000 or 2000 and eventually they started doing preorders. The first few games came with post cards and stickers
The way they threw one of their staff under the bus over a single twitter user being offended by that staff member looking forward to Hogwarts Legacy. Twitter user had to go back 6 years and dig up a random twitter post, before that person was employed at LTR. Heavy pass.
@@TheOneTrueBeard no, it's crappy, and quite possibly illegal depending on local laws. If I called your boss right now, said I heard you stole a lot of money from your last job, and they fired you for it, is that capitalism? Lol

I started with Limited Run for the PS Vita games. But I liked what Strictly Limited has to offer more. I think I only bought one game from Red Art and one from Super Rare. But I'm basically done with the limited prints of games and just try to find official releases that are worth it to me.
I think we should ask those companies like strictly limited game, art games and limited run and see if they would be willing to do a release of those titles. Personal growing up in the 1990’s I loved NBA Jam, NFL Blitz and SEGA’s Star Wars Trilogy. One I would really really would see release is Konami’s arcade of X-Men and Capcom’s Alien vs Predator.
My top 3 would be: 1) Super Rare Games, 2) Signature Edition Games and 3) Play Asia. Honorable Mentions: VgnySoft, Red Art Games, Special Reserve Games and Limited Run. Digital games that I want to be physical: Cyber-Shadow, Dust & Neon and Katana Zero.
It would be SLG (Strictly Limited Games), VGNY (Video Games New York), and I know that this company hasn't released anything "limited" in awhile, but I would have to go with Play Asia.
That giant poster of KOF 2002um looks amazing! I regret not buying that deluxe edition but, at that time I could only afford the collectors edition. Which is still amazing.
I'm more of a horror movie collector than videogames. But in horror movies they also do limited releases in the 1,000s or 100s as collector's editions but later on sometimes they release a regular edition. But these limited videogames are severely limited and they don't do a regular edition later. It sucks! Good topic and cool video Reggie!👉😃👈
Watermelon games and super fighter team were way ahead of their time. And they did an amazing job. PIKO interactive is the worst I've ever seen with horrendous customer service.
I just got Cannon Dancer from Strictly and was impressed how quickly I got it. I have over 60 games from Limited Run, but after the drama (and length of time it takes to get a order shipped to you) I’m kinda done. Either way great segment
I’m a fan of Super Rare. I get my games with in 2 weeks some times faster. I’ve ordered the most from Limited Run but I stoped ordering due to shipping times. I have a game going on 2 years and still waiting. Even the blind box’s have taken over 2 months. For game that are in stock. Sad.
Only used LRG except for ordering Pix N Love's Garou Collector's Edition. No complaints about Pix N Love, but its a small sample. LRG on the other hand I fell off for a few reasons; a) frustration that you'd miss out on "limited" releases, yet they still had copies for expos and brick & mortar stores b) quality control, mainly bent art cards from the way they are packed in the shock boxes; and c) I was mostly in it for the SNK fighters and they seemed to have moved on from those.
Steel Reserve! I always think of that, too. And I used to drink that beer ages ago to get nice and messed up real quick.😂 I have that SRG copy of The Messenger as well. SRG is my favorite. They haven’t released much, but I have 10 of their “reserve” editions and they are legit and only like $50.
I really like Red Art Games! Dissent prices, short waiting time for the game and interesting titles! I have made a mistake once and ordered from Super Rare Games and Limited Run Games! I have waited almost a whole year for the game to arrive! Never again!
@@TheOneTrueBeard because it's ridicules to wait something that you have paid for a whole year! Life is way too short for that and you don't even know what tomorrow will bring...

I’ve gotta check out some of these other publishers. I’m sick and tired of the six to eight month wait for a limited run games. Nice Joel cameo 😂. Imagine NBA JAM out with cross platform online play! Great video Reggie and KAG 👍
What I'd like physically on Switch is Shin Sekai: Into the Depths (capcom), Bionic Commando Rearmed 1 & 2(capcom), and Ghouls n Ghosts Resurrection(and capcom).
I never heard of signature games, gonna check that out! I was eyeballin The Eternal Castle on Hardcopygames lately. That game looks gorgeous with those old CGA graphics. I heard it’s not a long game, so possibly a bit expensive for a couple of hours gameplay….
Don’t buy from strictly limited games ! I’ve had multiple issues with them. 1) a few orders I’ve had to wait 2 years for. 2) I don’t trust a company in Germany to hold onto my money (for years) when they are having financial issues. 3) they advertise with promos like free games, and then actually don’t fulfill the order. False advertising is illegal. 4) I’ve had an order stuck in NY for over 2 weeks in a processing center, which is not normal. When I ask them they just “copy and paste” that’s normal. 5) if you demand a refund (they have to comply being in Germany) then it will be refunded to you in accordance to the exchange rate. So you’ll lose money if you decide to stop waiting for years for them to ship a game.
