This is an awesome boat and a great high def video! I had the next size up (12' 6", with one extra seat in front of the console). With a 40 HP Yamaha it did 32-33 mph with one person as he said, and 25-28 depending on the amount of people. Always planed quickly! I've taken it out in the ocean, and to and around Manhattan in all types of conditions. The only other issue beside the wet back is when reversing. If you reverse faster than a little over idle, the boat does take on water between the tubeset and hull. There is a bilge pump but the storage in the trunk and your feet in the cockpit will get wet. Also, DO NOT TRAILER WITHOUT TIEDOWN unless you are looking to see it upside down on the pavement... twice!!! I did get replacement parts from Inflatable Boat Specialist. They were so helpful and awesome!

Love these One Wakes... keep them coming. The inflatable rib boats seem to have dominated the tender market and I get their appeal, but I still prefer a plastic hull like the Portland Pudgy. You lose the soft sided comfort, but you gain more space and it weighs significantly less for comparable volume (important if you are taking it up on shore... feel free to push 600lbs+ back into the water). The only downside, as far as I can see, is looks. Plastic tubs don't look as nice as inflatables hanging off your davits or on the deck of your yacht. The excuse of "you can deflate them for storage" is bunk as I have never seen anyone deflate a rib hull for storage on their yacht. Also, something like the Pudgy can serve as your lifeboat, so you don't have to pay for your lifeboat to be inspected periodically and you don't have to worry about it not inflating in an emergency.

At least he didn't have to take a 30 second pause due to a prius or other traffic...For all those don't like it, either pay attention to the thumb nail or look up the "vehicle" name...there should be little to no excuse for not knowing about something these days...thanks Matt, keep it up; do what you need to do to keep the smoking tire smoking
I like the little boat. Favorite One Wake 4 sure. All these people spilling their hearts out because they don't like watercraft. If it rolls, floats, or skis I want to see them put through their paces. If your 17 and still trying to figure out how to get a better car then just think of it as a lesson on what's good.
I wonder, is there something besides weight balance keeping you from shoving the 90hp engine on one of these anyway? I can only imagine what way too much power would be like on one of these dudes.
I wonder if it would get on plane better with a different prop...maybe smaller diameter, or a bit less pitch? Seems there is too much drag on the motor for it to get into its powerband. Seems something like that with 40 HP should scream...our first boat my family had was a 14' aluminum boat with a 25 HP motor and that thing leapt out of the hole like a scalded cat! Anyway, I grew up loving boats, and even though I'm pretty over boats an adult, this little thing can't help but make me smile!
Matt you have no idea what a non-luxury tender is... that thing is the Bentley of dinghys compared to the soft bottom, tiller steer, 5.5 horse I have! Loving the new video genre though!
I'm enjoying the one wake series. I still love the original as well though. Good stuff Matt. That tender though, wow. That's the nicest tender I've ever seen. Granted I'm land locked in the Midwest but we still have big lakes with some yachts and go fast boats. That tender would be wonderful on some of the lakes around here.
Zodiacs in general are a crapload of money. They are definitely the luxury side of smaller boats. Although they're expensive they have a LOT of advantages over similarly sized steel boats. They are much more stable for one thing, and to guys that use them as tenders that's invaluable. Can't have the missus falling overboard and ruining her hair.
Most of us dont really care about boats, but i still think these one wakes pretty cool and ive been learning a lot from them. Definitely still need one takes though, but of course he's gonna keep doing them. Duh.
