    What a beautiful album and box! You make it look so easy to construct the album but I have to remind myself that you've probably done many albums. I have a 12x12 Graphic 45 paper pad so I'm going to try making this album this week. Thank you so much for this excellent tutorial.

    Morning Clare, Woweeeee !! This mini album and box are magnificent, I love that we could follow along in 'real time' when we have all the pieces pre cut out, your technique for construction of your album is fantastic, and I adore the French Country collection too. Your box is stunning and completes this project beautifully, and as you say, can also be used to 'house' layers of yummy chocolates too. Thank you for this 'must see' video.
    Lots of love from Patricia xx

    I bough revo gaffers tape from Amazon. Works great. Makes making the albums much simpler, and better constructed I would say. The tape also comes in white. Will be ordering that too. Thanks so much for letting us know about this and for the great tutorials.

    I found this when I was looking for a specific French Country mini mini album. And I thought you did a fantastic job and wrote down the instructions and will be making one myself. You were so easy to follow and I will make and 8" x 8" one as well. Almost 3 years later you albums are still inspiring and that you. :) Oh I did like the chocolates in the box that was a good idea but I'm afraid they may not all be there when I gave the box as a gift. lol I have subscribed to your channel to come back and see what else you have. Have a lovely day.

    Clare:
    A second question I have relates to your black construction tape. How long have you been using it and what is its expected life span? It seems like it is the best thing since sliced bread. I also love the idea of the flat packed boxes and pre-cut chipboard.
    Thanks!

    Hello Clare:
    I recently joined a Facebook group of ladies who have been making mini albums for quite some time. They have been lamenting the fact that their mini albums tend to have the papers lift over time.
    Is this a problem you have experienced? If so, is there a way to prevent it (I.e. A certain type of glue or scor tape or a combination of both?). Do mini albums just tend to come apart as they age? I certainly don't want to spend the time and money it takes to make a mini album, only to have it come apart over time.
    Thank you for your assistance.
    Toni

    great video thank you so much , can I ask what is construction tape , I thought it was cloth tape but you ripped it with your hands so i know its not cloth ...

    • @MyCreativeSpirit
      @MyCreativeSpirit  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Danine, thanks for calling by and your comment. I launched my alternative way of assembling albums and 3D projects about five years ago using my Signature Black Construction tape. It's a high tack acid free 1" wide tape that, as you've seen can also be ripped. It gives a professional edging to projects and can be painted too. For more info on how to use it do check out this video. Happy crafting :-) C th-cam.com/video/1QRrVXG54qc/w-d-xo.html

  • @my2jedi

    This is the best tutorial I have ever seen! I must have some of that construction tape, but I live in the US and shipping costs are prohibitive. Is there an alternative available here? I checked Amazon, but couldn't find anything similar. Thanks!

    • @nurseglenda57
      @nurseglenda57 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      my2jedi That tape looks like black masking tape which I googled and Office Depot has it for $2.99 per roll. Hope this helps.

    • @MyCreativeSpirit
      @MyCreativeSpirit  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A good suggestion. Do check it's acid free before using it on your craft projects. If it's not, over time the adhesive will deteriorate and rot your projects :-) C

    • @MyCreativeSpirit
      @MyCreativeSpirit  7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      thanks for calling by. I"m not sure if there is a similar tape available in the US. I tested many n the market before finding one that was suitable to craft with. If using an alternative ensure that it is acid free to avoid it deteriorating, coming unstuck and ruining your projects. :-) C

    • @lindahyden
      @lindahyden 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I have to tell you that I live in the U.S. and I ordered the tape from Creative Spirit and the shipping costs were reasonable and ship time not bad at all, so I would go ahead and order directly from them, very happy I did.

    • @misshavisham3220

      I've used book binding repair tape, available through Amazon. It comes in several widths and (at least) black, white, clear, dark blue, red, and probably other colors! There is also a choice of vinyl or cloth covered.
      I've also used "professional premium grade gaffer tape" that IT people use to bundle computer equipment cords. That works well, too, and is easy to tear. It's less expensive than book binding repair tape at under $14 for 1 in x 60 yds, although the roll is pretty large and might be unwieldy for some. Also, available through Amazon.
