    It just occurred to me (on watching this video again before making my next album) that your construction method automatically gives the perfect gap between the spine and covers, AND allows one to be sure the top and bottom edges of the covers are perfectly aligned and "square" all in one go. No more shims, T-square rulers, or fiddling and worry. I didn't fully appreciate the full genius of your method before.

      Hi Carol, thanks for calling by and leaving your comment. Yes I designed the system to address all the points you mention, and also to replace the need to use cardstock, double sided tape/glue too reducing the cost of construction considerably. As the two layers of tape adhere together between the spines my binding system also gives a very strong join that removes the risk of ripping down the spine that can occur, frustratingly, when covering an album in card stock. Enjoy making your next album :-) C

    11/25/21: Hi Clara. You definitely get my two thumbs up on this one! I especially loved the way you worked those corners with the tape. I mean, who knew one could do it that way? They're usually so cumbersome to construct, but you made it look so easy. Thank you again for another wonderful and informative tutorial which I intend to utilize when crafting. Happy Holidays to you and yours!

    Wouldn't you know, I finished my album cover for my Enchanted Forest Album (from your tutorial) a couple of days ago. Oh well, I used Kraft-Tex instead of cardstock; so though it wasn't as easy as this method, I do think it will be very sturdy. I did, however, remember your video on assembling 3D projects with construction tape. I used the tape to reinforce the inside fold of all the flaps on the various pages so I feel secure that the cardstock won't tear with heavy use. Thank you so much for sharing this tutorial.

      Hi Monivoa, thanks for calling by and commenting. I use my construction tape to build album covers and 3D projects. It's high tack and strong when in place. I don t use it to stick the pages into the album. For that I use tacky glue or double sided red line tape. :-) C

      Bev Benfield hi Bev have you received your tape yet? I’m also in Australia and wanting this tape but reluctant to order after reading your comment here and that you aren’t receiving replies to your emails. • @MyCreativeSpirit
      @MyCreativeSpirit  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Paula, thanks for commenting. Once you fold the cover over the spine the two layers of tape adhere together creating a really strong hinge that won t rip apart unlike cardstock does.

    Love the idea of using this tape for covering edges of chip board and hinges. Right now I use Tyvek on my hinges and either paint them or cover them with card stock since I found out that using just card stock does not hold up. Is the tape strong enough to resist tearing?

    • @MyCreativeSpirit
      @MyCreativeSpirit  7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Hi Renee, thanks for calling by. The tape is quite strong, but you could always use two layers over the joins between the spine and covers on your albums. I've been using it on my albums and 3D projects for about 18 months, the first few to test the product on various projects and then to teach with at my workshops. I've been really pleased with how the tape has performed - no tearing or falling apart. :-) C

      Not sure this tape is the same as gaffer's tape. The tape I have is much tougher than this seems to be.

      Hi Judith, thanks for calling by. No electrical tape has a very different composition to the one I use. :-)
