@@arturperzyna5453 Hello, after some time, I've incorporated my own workflow and now I love UV unwrapping. I didn't understand the logic behind it or attempt to think how to unwrap a 3D object sesnically. Do you have any advice?
@@aussieraver7182 Yeah, I think that's the case. I always sort of liked unwrapping, especially in recent years. Unwrapping login I've got instantly. Tools and commands worked and I have had them under hotkeys. Completely different case with 3d modeling... tools were crap for yeeaaaaaars and I hated the process. It took several thousands of 3dsmax and Maya improvements from my side, to make it decent.
Use 4 different cubes and scale them to the correct sizes or move the faces in face mode, add some edge loops as needed to hold the shapes in smooth preview
@@WhatMakeArt sir i was compleatly confused about uv mapping ☹️ can you help me little bit 🙂 in maya we have automatic -camera based planar cylindrical and spherical mapping. The planar mapping now i learned from your vedeo but rest of the mapping i mentioned above i want know which situation i can use those
Those are more specific situations when you need a mapping from a particular side fot a particular geometric shape, for procedural texturing, it is often best to decide which part of the object won't be seen and put seams there, for painted textures is doesn't matter as much where the seams are, so auto seams can work well, this especially true for objects created with photogrammetry
I am sorry but this did not help me like I thought it might. Am working on a viking wooden table with a cloth and nails. The uvs arent even unfolded flat. So, I'm back to square one trying to cut the seams and unfold each of the wooden planks and each of the legs.

Thank you so much!
Glad it will save some time👍
You probably do it wrong.

Thank you from all struggling students!
Glad it helped 👍
Nice saved me a lot of time by going straight to the point unlike other videos full of filler
Glad it helped 👍
Been doing all this manually myself haha, this is so much easier and quicker. thanks :)
Glad it helped 👍
man is literally saving my ass for my university 1st year finale thank you TH-cam man
Good luck at uni, hope the project turns out well 👍
this has made life so much easier. I swear I was about ready to shoot myself doing these piece by piece in the class im in right now.
Yeah, for many objects auto seams work great 👍
Thanks dude much appreciated
Welcome 👍
How have I lived without this video?!
🎁
Great tutorial. This helped me a lot
Woot, happy UV unwrapping and texturing 👍
Thanks
Welcome
Useful, thanks!
Glad it helped with auto IV seams in Maya 👍
Awesome! Super helpful, thanks!
Welcome 👍
Actually i tried this method with a cylindrical shape and its not giving me a perfect uv can you help me with it
Depending on the cylinders shape it may be better to make your own seams for the caps and then split the cylinder
So useful thank you!
Glad it helped with uv unwrapping in Maya👍
you saved my life, thank you
Happy UV unwrapping 👍
How did you model a table
Use 4 different cubes and scale them to the correct sizes or move the faces in face mode, add some edge loops as needed to hold the shapes in smooth preview
Thanks dude!
Glad it helped unwrap UVs with auto seams in Maya👍
Sir we can uv map any complex object with this method?
Yes, any object in Maya can be UV unwrapped with this method

my auto seems said *Error: Cannot find procedure "u3dTopoValid"* Although i follow the steps :(
That is frustrating
Maybe try on a different, simpler model to see if you can eliminate variables
@@WhatMakeArt fastest reply ever 😭 honestly it is simple model yet didn’t work, I’ll figure it out...
The best part is that all of this you can do with a single click.
Camera based projection, auto seams, unfold, layout etc... one click.
Yes, pretty amazing how easily uv unwrapping can be done

Yes, sometimes you need to make manual seams and unwrapping with UVs th-cam.com/video/X0KGwPadukE/w-d-xo.html
I like modelling and texturing. But. I HATE Maya so much!
Thanks for the help :-)
Glad it helped 👍
@@WhatMakeArt I rellay need this tips. Maya SUCKS
